Title: Easiest system to complete? Post by: nester on January 15, 2007, 04:13:51 AM What do you think is the easiest system to get all the games for? And when I say complete, I mean the basic established set of US games. I was thinking 7800, but it's got a couple of hard to find/expensive games. Lynx seems pretty easy as long as you get most of your games online. What do you guys think?
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Dev1anc3 on January 15, 2007, 08:36:47 AM I've never really wanted to complete a game library for a console, but if I was going to, I'd pick the Virtual Boy, or maybe the 32X.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Ghost Soldier on January 15, 2007, 09:09:05 AM I'd go with the VB as well.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on January 15, 2007, 11:42:29 AM Depends on if you want them CIB or not.
VB and 32X are pretty easy. Loose Genesis wouldn't be that hard. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tondog on January 15, 2007, 11:44:11 AM Dreamcast is pretty easy. My friend only started collecting Dreamcast like a year or two ago and he's already got half of the US games for it.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: OatBob on January 15, 2007, 12:45:12 PM Dreamcast is pretty easy. My friend only started collecting Dreamcast like a year or two ago and he's already got half of the US games for it. And I'm finishing the other half this summer. ;DLess than 300 games for the US, and most are fairly cheap because people mistakenly think its a second-rate system. A lot of them are garbage, but its got the best hidden finds that I've seen for a while. Getting everything complete just requires a little more tenacity. I'd have to say that n64 doesn't look terribly difficult because it too has just less than 300 titles. Its got an excellent selection for party games too. Boxes might be hard to come by though. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tondog on January 15, 2007, 01:38:12 PM And I'm finishing the other half this summer. ;D I'll believe it when I see all the gaps filled on your shelf and a cross referenced and checked off list of all the US Dreamcast games. :)Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: ganonbanned on January 15, 2007, 06:55:27 PM Hello, nester. I didnt know you used these forums
I say 32x. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: shaggy on January 15, 2007, 07:04:30 PM I think I'd have to go with the 32x or the Virtual Boy likewise.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: cverz2 on January 15, 2007, 07:48:28 PM I would have to say the PS 1.............. Just Kidding.
I believe I would also have to say the 32X. Maybe even the Odyssey 2.. As both of these really only have one game that is hard to get a hold of. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tondog on January 15, 2007, 07:54:31 PM Don't forget that 32X and Virtual Boy have a few games that are next to impossible to find. Also, it's tough to find them with the box and everything.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: wrldstrman on January 15, 2007, 08:26:34 PM odyess 2 doest have many games
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on January 15, 2007, 08:56:26 PM O2 has 49 games but Power Lords will cost you. O2, VB, 32X all easy if you want them loose.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Speedy_NES on January 15, 2007, 09:36:26 PM You could also try the R-Zone library, or one of the Game Boy competitors from the 90s: Game Master, GameKing, SuperVision. I think each of those has no more than 20-50 games in the library (although I'm not sure if they were also released in the US).
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on January 15, 2007, 10:15:51 PM R-Zone and Game.com games are a pain to find on Ebay if that means anything.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: nupoile on January 16, 2007, 08:55:14 PM I'm surprised no one has mentioned DOS games, or just the PC in general.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Rejinx on January 16, 2007, 10:01:07 PM Has to be the game.com. I picked up a game.com and half of the games for it sealed for $40.
If you take your time and find good deals, you could get a complete set for under $100. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on January 16, 2007, 10:47:40 PM I'm surprised no one has mentioned DOS games, or just the PC in general. Huh? There are 1000's pf PC games. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Izret101 on January 17, 2007, 12:50:08 PM I was waiting to see Game.Com or R-Zone.
Game.com is always on eBay and when R-Zone does go up it is generally a ton of titles at once. ActionMax is an easy one. I was debating on getting them off eBay but now the titles have seemed to dry up. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: nester on February 06, 2007, 08:45:17 PM Well all I know is that ever since I got my 7800 up and running again those darn Froggo games became impossible to find. It seems like a year or two ago you could get them for under 40 dollars. What is the world coming to?
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: shannonrose86 on February 07, 2007, 03:42:12 PM Well I'm damn near close to having all the Sega Pico U.S games complete. LOL there is only 20 titles. But the kid loves them. Gosh I really need that Sonic one, that seems to be the hardest to find complete.

Nothing yet that you don't already have.Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Grim Fandango on February 11, 2007, 03:59:25 PM The North American Neo Geo Pocket Color set doesn't seem to have many rare games in the small handfull that was released, but I suppose finding them complete in their cardboard boxes would be death.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: TurboGrafxer AKA DCer on February 11, 2007, 08:25:45 PM theres also the sega pico, and the tg-cd. both have very few games and are relatively easy to come by.
also i second that on the 32x and vb. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Kevincal on February 19, 2007, 01:25:53 AM Anyone mentioned the NUON yet? Sorry for being so lazy and not reading through the thread. :P
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: OatBob on February 22, 2007, 03:17:52 AM Anyone mentioned the NUON yet? Sorry for being so lazy and not reading through the thread. :P Nope, nobody mentioned it yet. I sorta second it. After the cost of the player, the rest isn't too bad. 4 Nuon-enhanced DVDs, 3 sampler/demos, and 8 titles... albeit ones released under strange conditions. One was recalled, one was korean only, two only came with a certain models of dvd players, and of course VM labs went bankrupt... My personal favorite in there is The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension. Its a sci-fi adventure roughly along the lines of Back to the Future featuring the dynamite comedic team of John Lithgow and Christopher Lloyd. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tondog on February 22, 2007, 06:03:08 PM NUON would be easy as heck to do. How about N-Gage? That wouldn't be too hard to get all of them.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on February 22, 2007, 09:10:43 PM N-gage has 10 games that you could only get through www.lets-talk.com. Not tor hard if they still have all of them but you are going to pay 15-25 bucks each for those 10.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: DarthKur on March 05, 2007, 10:58:51 PM N-Gage is a phone?!? I guess I'm not up to date on things. I just looked it up on Ebay thinking that it might be some small game.com type thing. In fact I just recently learned of game.com for that matter.
I was wondering what that meant underneath all of the new users here. Couldn't figure it out. :P Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on March 06, 2007, 11:40:12 AM If you ever want to know what the hell we atre talking about just ask. ;)
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: spanks_4 on March 29, 2007, 09:57:43 AM 32x is fairly easy. i almost have that complete(U.S.). im still trying to find the more common games in good shape. my most expensive game for this was spiderman mint-CIB. i paid $200 just because i wanted it that bad for my collection. yes i am nutz people
VB(U.S.) collection is cake. its just a little pricey game.com is cake to if you know how/where to look for the games. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on March 29, 2007, 11:40:25 AM 200 holy crap I got mine for 100.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: spanks_4 on March 29, 2007, 11:44:28 AM i have like 5 games im waiting to come in and the 32x collection is done. i didn't mind spending that kinda cash for the condition its in. plus i didn't know how long i would have to wait to find another copy of it.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Sauza12 on March 29, 2007, 11:54:08 AM Spiderman is one of the last two I need, and the price for it has been skyrocketing lately. I bid $150 on a copy 2 months ago and thought I was getting it for sure, but it ended up around 200. I remember when the would regularly go for $80 complete. :-\
Also, World Series Baseball is impossible to find. There hasn't been a copy up on Ebay in over a month, and the last one or two were loose. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on March 29, 2007, 12:54:50 PM Also, World Series Baseball is impossible to find. There hasn't been a copy up on Ebay in over a month, and the last one or two were loose. I bought one of the loose ones for 5 bucks. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Marriott_Guy on May 03, 2007, 06:58:48 PM I would say the Action Max is definitely the easiest system to complete, followed closely by the Fairchild Channel F. The selection for nuon games is not extensive, but I still can't my hands on Ballistic no matter how hard I try.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Tynstar on May 03, 2007, 09:10:23 PM Channel F games are hard to find. Well for me anyways.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Izret101 on May 04, 2007, 01:39:31 AM There are alot of systems that are "easy" to complete the question really is how much are you willing to pay to complete them.
Virtual Boy NUON Action Max(i ended up buying mortal kombat stuff instead of a system with all the games complete a couple months ago it was 50-70$s shipped probably cheaper.) N-Gage Lynx Aladdin any "eduatainment" system i can think of etc etc Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Nukie on May 07, 2007, 10:33:23 PM I would say the aladdin deck enhancer (I know it's part of the nes set) is one of the easiest to find the games for. I got all of mine in a lot with a sealed and loose enhancer for like $40.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Jared on May 11, 2007, 05:07:03 AM Could someone give me some history/background on game.com. That is the name of the system? Im kinda confused.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Izret101 on May 11, 2007, 08:20:22 PM Yes.
Why they decided to name it that i have no clue... Apprently it does have some way to get online. I am not well versed in the system though it is one of the few that i have looked into picking up a complete collection of. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: OatBob on May 13, 2007, 04:42:39 PM Hey, what about the RCI Halcyon? Other than the fact that it alone is two large and expensive units, its library is of TWO laserdisc games. Then again... laserdisc media tend to deteriorate over time, so good luck finding working games.
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: wrldstrman on May 13, 2007, 10:41:35 PM Im thinking nintendo 64 is pretty easy to complete If you had 500 dollars I think you could have a loose collection in no time.
complete is not to hard either only hard ones are sculptors cut, ISS 2000 super bowling, stunt racer, then there are a few that you can find easy but wont be cheap, worms armaggedon, ogre battle, harvest moon paper mario. Ive almost completed my collection in a few months and buy buying and selling havent spent more than 500.00 dollars. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: DefaultGen on May 19, 2007, 12:52:36 AM So I was looking into collecting O^2 (I just picked up a pretty big haul of em, including all 3 Master Strategy games) and for US Releases, Power Lords is the ONLY expensive game right? Not a huge library either, how hard can it be?
Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: Izret101 on May 19, 2007, 03:18:31 PM Power lords can go for 150+ the other expensive ones are 20-45 i believe.
As for the N64 comment. EEEEWWWWW 500$s for carts that when space efficiently packed/displayed you can't even tell what game is which. No thanks. Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? I have only ever seen the Raiders vs. Chargers game. Disc only. SO i am going to say no. Not so easy ;) Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Title: Re: Easiest system to complete? Post by: PDorr3 on May 30, 2007, 12:37:20 AM NUON would probably be the easiest in terms of its library, but believe me it will still be hard.
Theres usualy 1 nuon system up on ebay at all times (usual starting bids are high) I was lucky enough to win one for only $50, sometimes they go upwards to $200. The games are also just as rare appearing on ebay, and also have a random end price (tempest 3000 might end at $10 with one bid one month and a couple of months later end at $45) Iron soldier 3 will definitly be THE hardest game to get for the nuon (I forget exactly but theres a cd only version and a complete version). Not only is the game EXTREMELY RARE on ebay but it will run you no less than $100. NUON might have a small library but expect it to take alot of patience before you are able to get a complete collection for it. |
