Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Mezmoron on December 29, 2006, 08:44:53 PM Haha You want to know about DS games, just ask me.
My suggestions would be: Castlevania: PoR Castlevania: DoS Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time Contact Meteos Tetris DS There are so many more! Ken Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: TurboGrafxer AKA DCer on December 29, 2006, 09:24:05 PM i hope to get a DS sometime in the near future.
Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: cverz2 on December 29, 2006, 09:25:51 PM New Super Mario Bros. is pretty fun. Kind of a mix of Mario 1, 3, and world. With much more.
Zoo Keeper not worth 20.00, but very addicting. Alot like Bejeweled. Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on December 29, 2006, 10:37:34 PM Castlevania anything. Whole reason I have a gameboy.
Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: TraderJake on December 30, 2006, 01:30:35 AM Elite Beat Agents. Truly the best game of 2006.
I also suggest: Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time Meteos Mario Kart DS Brain Age I could go on, but those are the games that spent the most time in my DS. Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: JWKobayashi on December 30, 2006, 02:09:24 AM Man, I love the DS....
Anyway, it has some great platformers: - New Super Mario Bros. - Yoshi's Island DS - Kirby: Canvas Curse - Kirby: Squeak Squad - Sonic Rush - Castlevania (Both of them!) Great Puzzlers: - Tetris DS (Must own if you have wifi!!) - Meteos - Puyo Pop Fever Great Random Stuff: - Trauma Center (Great use of stylus) - Mario Kart DS (Another must own if you enjoy wifi) Ah, I could go on and on... Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Tynstar on December 30, 2006, 02:22:00 AM Animal Crossing
Brain Age Tetris Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: James on December 30, 2006, 07:11:05 AM I've got one duff game out of eleven. Spyro: Shadow Legacy. I started off trying to like it but it's too bad. It's full of bugs and it seems to have no point or plot.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is a much better Action/RPG or whatever the genre is. I usually stay away from RPG types but this one was great. I wouldn't pay full price for Yoshi: Touch and Go but it's fairly amusing. I got it for £10 when I bought my Lite. Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Funk_Buddy on December 30, 2006, 08:49:11 AM Thanks guys, that gives me a great place to start.
Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Mezmoron on December 30, 2006, 10:18:21 AM Not sure what JWK is smoking, but stay away from Puyo Pop. :-P
Ken Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Funk_Buddy on December 30, 2006, 10:55:41 AM I want Bubble Bobble, but I was told it's horrible. I hope to be selective with this system as I've been with the GBA. Of course, I've been too selective with the GBA IMO. So many games so little time and money. :P
Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Mezmoron on December 30, 2006, 11:04:02 AM Bubble Bobble is miserable.....You can't even get past level 30, it glitches there.
Ken Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: JWKobayashi on December 30, 2006, 11:43:55 AM Bubble Bobble is miserable.....You can't even get past level 30, it glitches there. Ken Agreed. Hunt down Bubble Bobble Old & New on GBA if you need a BB fix. By the way, not smoking anything good... just have a strange fascination with Puyo games I guess. ;D Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: NintendoSuperFan on December 30, 2006, 04:51:16 PM I recommend you get Phoenix Wright(and its sequal which is coming out next month), and Elite Beat Agents.
Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Shimra on January 01, 2007, 04:20:32 PM Phoenix Wright is by far and away the best DS game.
Either of the Castlevanias are good, however I like Dawn of Sorrow a bit more. I personally can not stand New Super Mario brothers. It feels nothing like Mario World or Super Mario Brothers 3. It is essentially a revamp of the original except it has absolutely no difficulty. In my opinion, you would be better off getting Yoshi's Island DS as far as a platformer goes. New Super Mario Brothers does have the best multiplayer for the DS though. They have one mode kinda like the original Mario Brothers, and another which feels like Mario Party. And as stated above, Meteos, EBA, Advance Wars etc. Also don't hesitate on importing some gems such as Jump Super Stars and Bleach. Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Funk_Buddy on January 01, 2007, 07:13:38 PM If anyone knows my collection, imports are an obvious addition... I mean necessity.
Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Fuyukaze on January 02, 2007, 05:53:31 AM Puyo pop isnt a bad series though Fevor isnt all that great. It added the new cheap shot meter that makes it near imposible to win if your on the loosing end. Too powerfull a game breaker.
If you like old style RPGs, I'd sugest Deep Labyrinth. Not many like it but it's not a bad game. While it has the shody magic system simular to Lost Magic, it atleast plays decent. Lost magic, avoid that one. It's not bad but with the horible AI of your own summons in adition to the magic system, it makes the game harder then it should be. For imports, your sadly much on your own there as I've yet to try any import DS games as of yet. I try to avoid paying up to twice what a high end domestic release would cost when it comes to games. I hear good things from the Bleach series on the DS though. Only problem with that is it's an anime based game. Sometimes those are hit or miss, but more often they miss. BTW, how is the Drift King series on the Super Famicom? I've cosidered picking it up as the one on the Saturn wasnt half bad. Title: Re: Bought a DS finally... Post by: Funk_Buddy on January 02, 2007, 10:41:34 AM I'll have to check it out again since it's been awhile, but I think it was pretty good.
