I am hope to pickup a bunch of PS2, PS1 and Dreamcast game, hopefully 100 each. Plus get a GameCube, Atari 5600 and 7800.  I have high hopes for 2007.  ;D

Deciced to add a "ranking system". It is mostly based on my prejudices towards systems and which ones i can get cheapest. Also if i keep being  CIB snob then it is going to be VERY hard for me and cart based stuff...

I think they are very attainable.  Anything extra would be great.

These goals might be harder to attain now. Since I lost my good job and now I make less money. :(

I see 2007 being a big year for Dreamcast collecting here. My main goal in 2007 is to get as many of the US Dreamcast games I can, at least have 150 games by the end of the 2007. I only have 40 right now, so it will be a good year for hunting. I can't wait until spring. Yard sales are where I find the best deals.

EDIT: April 15, 2007 I'm selling most of my games and just keeping the games I will play. I will most likely start collecting again once I'm out of school and have a job.

I really want to finish a system. I think my best bet would be 7800 for this one. I would also like to pass 200 games for 2600. I do kinda have money now, so I might be able to work on these.

My goal is to top 1k total games.  I'm still putting games in the database and I estimate I have almost 600 games so 1000 shouldn't be too hard.  I'm mainly concentrating on genesis and nes games.

im three US releases short of a complete US DC collection, but the last three are going to cost major dollars (Power Stone 2, Tech Romancer, and Sega Bass Fishing 2).  I also need to find a few more variations (Power Stone - Sega All Stars, Mortal Kombat Gold - defective, Ready 2 Rumble - Sega All Stars), then if im lucky i would like to find more of the kiosk demo disk (so far, i only have SF Rush 2049) and possibly the special edition of Sonic Adventure.  I will continue to pick up any imports i find, but will not actively seek them out.

on other fronts, i only have a handful of sega games from the current gen i need to finish my collection.  if i find inexpensive variations, i will pick those up as well. 

on the new game front, there isnt much i plan on buying in 07 other than a wii

My goal is to finish up my SMS and DC collections. Thats less then 100 games total, something that I should be able to do.

Yeah... That should keep me busy.

I think my current goal should be to have an actual place to put all these damn games I've gotten over the years.  I finally have my own Room of Doom, but I don't have any shelving or whatever to put/display what I've got.  If anything, my goal for next year is to get my room in order and slow down a bit on buying games.

Some pretty lofty goals here, and some pretty reasonable ones, but I don't think I've met even 50% of my goals before, so hey.

my goal is to start construction of a new house  and getting the myriad 6 in 1 cart

1.every koei game for the nes (5 down, 4 to go!)
2.every koei game for the snes and genesis
3.every atlus game for the snes
4.dragon warrior 4
5.every enix game for the snes
6.every shin megami tensei game released in both japan and the states (the japanese will be brutal...it may be my dieing wish)
7.maison ikkoku for either the nes or pc-engine

In spite of how it looks, I'm not realy interested in numbers so much as those games listed above.  Though it is nice being able to play a wide varity of games.

Today I've finaly got the last RoTK game for a Nintendo system.  Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV for the SNES.  Sure, loose sucks but for 7$, it's still freakn sweet.

I'm going to try and work on my Japanese Castlevania collection this year. I just got an A/V Famicom and Famicom Disc System, so I would like to get a complete Castlevania I and II for the FDS, and a complete Castlevania I and III for the Famicom, as well as alot of other Castlevania imports..

I'd like to mostly focus on imports this year, and work on expanding my library of Japanese N64, Super Famicom, Gameboy, Famicom, and FDS games, but as of now, I'm strapped for cash, so I'll see how that goes.

I also need a Nintendo Wii, and am less than 200 away from hitting 1,000 total games, so reaching that mile stone would be nice.

Finaly hit 1000 games, a shame that isnt one of my goals.

My goal for 2007 is to get close enough to a complete CIB nes set that I can remember by heart all the items I need without having to look.

And with my scatterbrain memory that would be damn close to a complete collection.

I'd like to try and complete my Working Designs collections for the consoles I own and hopefully come closer to a complete RPG collection for PS1. I feel this is the year I'll finally get a PSP to play my PSP games on, possibly even an old Xbox for the Xbox games I can't play on the 360. Sell/trade my extra games.

I'd like to add at least another 50 games to my PSX collection, and another 10 or 15 to my PS2 stuff.   

 Also, I need ONE Alundra for PSX map to complete my Alundra variant games.

Furthermore... depending on how things go I also would like to acquire another NES console, and at LEAST Crystalis, Arkanoid with controller, Maniac Mansion, Shadowgate, and Duck Hunt (the games I most enjoyed playing on that format, although Willow, Ted and Bill's excellent adventure, Faxanadu, and FF, of course, were great!)  I gave all of MY NES stuff up tp to an 11 y/o who wanted a game system for Xmas.  While I was disappointed that it pretty much  sat disused after a few days, I still think it was worth giving <smile>

I would like to add aother 50 games to my DC collection and another 100 game demos.  I would also like to get on to XBL.  I tried it once and it was a bit of a pain.

I'm hoping to complete my Atari 7800 collection; I'm more than halfway there and most of the games I need to complete it are somewhat easy to find.

Are you going for CIB or loose?

Preferably loose, as money is a bit tight on me at the moment.

Loose shouldn't be too hard. Only ones that would be kind of hard are Mean 18 Gold, Tank Command and Planet Smashers.

Oh yeah, my other goal is that I finally want to get a Sega CD this year. I've been putting that one off since the early 90s. I'm sure there are enough good games for it to justify it's relatively low price.

I plan to get a complete CIB of every game made for the Atari 2600.

Sadly, I'm not even remotely close to completing anything for any system. Unless you count the Coleco Telstar Arcade, which there are only four of. I have the first one. No system though.......does that count?

My real goals would be to acquire the following:
A Vectrex and as many games as I can. Already have seven.
Neo Geo cd system. There's no way I can afford the AES games.
Emerson Arcadia 2001. (Working on that at present)
Turbo Duo and a nice selection of Hu-cards and cd's.
A Coleco Telstar Arcade system to go with my one game.  ;D
Fairchild Channel F, original model with built in speaker. I currently have the system II.
And of coarse as many games for all of the systems I currently own that I can feasibly get.

I was about to say not possible, but it would be awesome.

I'd like to hit 100 nes games and 50 CIB GBA games. I'm close now for NES, in the upper 60's-low 70's, and 22 or so GBA. Should be realistic.

 

It sure would be awesome. Unfortunately you've got to be a millionaire to even consider it.

This year's goal for me is to finally finish buying the backup pieces of hardware. I have 2-3 of pretty much every system I have, just gotta finish up on some disc based (DC, Cube, PS2, Xbox) which I've already started and also mem cards for each.

My goal is to surpass at least 300 different NES accessories before the end of the year (including variants)...and 600 NES games. 

My goals for 2007:

200 Boxed SNES games (10 so far)
Every Psone Fighting game released in the US (So close)
Increase my Psone library to 200 (55 right now)

At the moment I'm working on PS2 rpgs. Many as they're coming out as I like my games mint fresh. :p  I should go add the latest ones. I'm so behind on updating my rfgen library. xD

Haha to be honest, I think I'll only reach the NES and N64 :P

Because after that I'll be broke and won't be able to complete the other two, unless I get a job heh.

I could easily complete my GBA goal of 30 games(5 away)
And chances are i can complete my goal of all MK home console titles.(barring variants. Damn you Armageddon and Deception!!!)

I really don't think i will be reaching any other ones though...

It would take a prayer for me to reach any of my goals.

I have a small list of PS2 and GameCube games that I'd like to get, mostly RPGs. Would also like to complete my copies of Dragon Warrior II and III and find an affordable and complete copy of Lunar 2 for PS1.

That's all I'd really like to finish. Set my sights low and end up happy. That's the plan :)

This year has been a dead weight in terms of collecting. My goals were, and still are very simple:

Get 10 Dreamcast Games (6 to Go)
Get 10 PS1 Games (1 to go)
Get as many GameBoy, GameBoyPocket, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, and GameBoy Advance: SP variants as possible (All the different colors for each)
Get a GBMicro Charger
Get 5 PS2 games (2 to Go)

God am I pathetic.

I have an extra Saturn I think.

I never posted any goals for this year but I did FINALLY complete one from previous years which was to finish adding my collection to the database. The PS2 was the last batch I was sitting on and I finished loading them a few weeks back.

Well, there's no way I'll be able to "top of the Dreamcast collection" by the end of the year.  I did however pick up a PS2 and a ton of games, as well as an Xbox 360 and Halo 3.  Looking at a goal for next year... top off the Dreamcast, and get a ton of last gen games.

Well, how have I done so far?

I may have set my goals a little high this year... in my defense i WAS working at a game store at the time...

looks like I accomplished my lone goal. though it was a carry over.

My 2007 goal was to break 1000 games and accessories.  I surpassed that in june/july and closing in on 1500. 

Shifting from casually collecting to making it an active hobby, my collection skyrocketed this year...this Spring, I started getting really into PSX and N64 collecting after the GameStop liquidation, and began going yardsaling and checking CL often...I went from single-digit numbers of PSX, N64 and DC games to 300+, 150+, and 20+, respectively.  I also doubled my collection of NES games to about 200-300 and my SNES collection also broke 100 as well.  I've also hit 60+ PS2 games (newest additions include the entire SMT series) and 45 DS games, as well as going from a half dozen to 50 Sega CD games.  I've been picking up so much stuff lately that buying games tends to pay for itself when I flip my duplicates online.

I did manage to get my hands on Suikoden II (Bought it with guide for $75, sold the guide for $60, net cost $15) and Earthbound (part of a large collection for $80), so I am quite happy with my progress.  My third crown jewel was found in a thrift shop; I stumbled across a mint complete copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 (DC) for $2.79.

I failed my goal of getting every 7800 game released, since I decided to get rid of any games I didn't play.

Broke 3 more goals since my last post.

Nintendo DS i have at least 35 games now.
Xbox 360 sitting at 22ish games now


I think that is going to finish me off for the year...
6 out of 15. Not as good as my previous year but i set alot more goals and alot higher ones this time. And i came damn close to completing alot of them.

Plus life kinda thrust me into the real world for no reason. Man life changes the rules to much :-/
