Title: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Post by: Ando on December 03, 2006, 08:14:52 PM Okay, I know that on the NES there are two versions of this game, correct? Correct. The confusion as to which-is-which comes with this little tidbit in the supposedly non-Tengen version:
"(c) 1988, 1985 Lucasfilm Ltd. (LFL) and Tengen All rights reserved. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd., used under license Licensed to Mindscape, Inc. Printed in Japan." So, who made the game and who published it? I thought that one was made by Tengen and one by someone else, but this states that something is copyright Tengen. Weren't all of Tengen's carts that funky black thing? Title: Re: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Post by: Speedy_NES on December 14, 2006, 04:46:24 PM Nice discovery! Maybe Mindscape worked together with Tengen to get the license from Lucasfilm Ltd.?
As for the black Tengen cartridges, there were three titles also released in licensed format: Gauntlet, Pac-Man, and the first RBI Baseball. |
