Okay! From past experience, alot of people outside the UK havent a clue what a Car Boot Sale is!
Basically, its a Flea Market, where vendors/sellers drive their car onto the field/area where the Sale is happening.
They open the boot of their car/van, set up a few tables and place all the items on to sell...

Anyways, im gonna start posting my finds in here.
I have over a Months worth of finds to post. I used to post them over at DP, however it seems dead and this place seems nice and lively :)

These finds are mainly car boot finds, but ill slip in a few eBay finds ;)
Please note i DIDNT buy all this in one go! Its a few months worth of my best finds!

Bloomin' Northerners.

Everyone down here always quotes ebay prices saying "I could get this much on eBay". Why not sell it there, then?

Last time I went to a car boot sale all I got was a £30 parking ticket. That was my first free weekend for a year, my first chance to go to a boot sale for 6 months and I got bugger all. The main ones have all finished for the season now. :(

I've moved away from collecting now that I've got my 360, so I'm not bothered about getting as many games as possible.

Yes. The cost varies depending on how big the car boot sale is. The ones around here are between £5 and £10.

Then buyers pay an entry fee, usually only around 50p.

Nice car-boot finds, I can never be arsed getting up early enough to go to the car boot sales. Maybe I should start if you can get stuff for that cheap there. Are they just in Leeds the car-boots you go to?

Nice finds, seems like November was a good month for you.  Do you always find that much stuff or was this an exception?  Seem like the flea markets here run hot and cold.

Man, yard / garage sales around me stink. I've never found a single game-related item. Although there was that $1 17-inch monitor. :o

Anyway, those are some awesome finds. I'm not too fluent in Euro-to-Dollar translations, so I'm assuming that the costs are low as well.

Im usually very lucky with finds, there arent too many Retro collectors around here (to my knowledge) and the few that are, i know and they arent as devoted to huntign as i am.
I have good and bad weeks, so i guess the stuff i showed above was obviously from good weeks... however another good weeks finds are about to be posted ;)


Heh cheers, the sheet was also something i found a few months back. Someone had set up a stall and the Pacman sheet was in place to use as a table cover to put items ontop of. Of all the things the seller could have sold that day, he sold the sheet! lol


Appologies if the photos seem a little show-offy... But do you know that feeling when you snag something real good and you want to shout about it!? Well i do my shouting here, at a place where people understand why im shouting about a piece of plastic (ie a snes cart!)

A Slight Detour on Saturday 2nd December 2006

On the way to the Leeds United Football (Soccer) match, i popped into a charity shop on the way. There was a Sega Saturn bundle sat on the front desk (waiting to be tested and priced)
I leaped on it and they said it was £20... Unfortunately it was missing the power cable (I wasnt too worried, as they are easily aquirable)

I asked if they knew if they had the cable..
The guy said to me 'Do you know what it looks like!?'
I nodded, he then said 'Follow me'
He took me into the storage rooms for the charity shop and let me rummage thru the goods for the cable i needed...

After a brief chat, the guy decided i could change the hunt for a single cable into a hunt for every last drop of gaming goodness within the storage!
So this is what i came out with!

Nice finds so far, man... question though... how many of those plush Sonics do you have now (or maybe I'm thinking of another DP refugee?), and how do I get one? Must have one for my desk...

I have approx 5 or 6 of them, lol

It aint often I can say this but I....envy your good fortune.  Dont have that many great finds around here all that often.  Sometimes I can find good stuff, but more often then not everyone knows e-bay and prices their stuff by it.  Even some of the local thrifts and pawn shops.

Seems like your getting in good with your local thrifts.  I have a few ladies at the thrifts here watching out for goodness for me.  Nice finds all around. 

you have found some top hsit and i see from the prices that CEX are desperate to get rid of their Dreamcast stuff!

What boot sales you going to for all that? we have a few in Wakefield but im too lazy to get up as all the finds dried up about 2 years ago was getting loads and then nothing.

do you manage to get rid of most of it on the ebay as normally the stuff you get tends to be the very common stuff.



i know its not game related but i got an 80's games called Crossbows and Catapults for about £2.50 boxed, sold it that week on the ebay for £70 to someone in America! nice :)

This Megaman toy was found in the department store, TK Maxx in manchester. It was in the clearance for £1 cause the box was damaged. Didnt care though as i just wanted to build it :)

On the 19th December, took a little trip with the girlfriend to a local town. She wanted to go feed the ducks by the river. On the way back i checked into their local game shop and bought this.

Then went on to resell the Super Punch Out Cart included for £10 so a third was paid for already!

Qwak for GBA. An old amiga game, recoded for GBA by the original coder.
Goto www.Qwak.co.uk and buy it. There are only 300 copies available and its one of the best GBA games there is now! Also one of the best Amiga games too!

Im close to a full set, about 20 away (including the stupidlly rare Smurfs 2! Grrrr)

Well done! keep going and all that stuff if you can make money from this then great it just goes to show that some people will pay on ebay than go look for the stuff themselves as you have even sold stuff that i have listed and not managed to shift :)

Actually i haven't even gotten Qwak yet... I just meant the fact thati spent 30$s on the game was not a good idea for me...

As for the MK games i am once again struggling with bills as the hours at work are very hit or miss. If you can hold onto a good looking copy for me for a bit that would be cool :)
Maybe we can work out something were i can pick up a few MK games from you at once so i don't get annihilated by shipping prices....

The cases for the dreamcast games look to be in pretty good condition. If they were mine I'd be tempted to throw out the games and transplant the cases. The Pal ones are so fragile.
