Title: submission problem
Post by: Tan on November 07, 2006, 03:06:49 PM
I tried to add a game a few minutes ago (Star Trek Tactical Assault) and when I hit submit it said my password was incorrect, but there was no blank to input one and i didn't notice. when i tried again the words "hack attempt" came up, this went on until i refreshed the page after logging in, then the password space showed up.

thought I'd let you know in case someone got worried and banned my IP or something for a hacking attempt or some such thing.  :P

Your submission went through with no problems when I appoved it. I would imagine it would just be a bug in the system, as I seem to come across quite a few with the new scripts. Every time something happens like this it post it here so Dave or Eddie can check it out and make their amendments.

I'll look into the problem, but we were having server issues today, so that could have been it. If it happens again please let me know, and I hope that you can be as thorough as possible.  I'd like to know: the offending script (submitinfo.php), the action that was being done, the url before and after the error occurred. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

the recent bug i'm finding in submiting stuff is when i try to switch to another page and i get this....

Invalid Boolean Parameter.

now, i have no clue what that means, but i cant submit much unless i put the individual title in the blank.  putting it in works, but it takes alot longer then just listing the entire game list for the particular systems i'm working on.

Apologies, I changed somethings last night so that search by ID could work amongst someother things, and I overlooked this issue in my testing. I'll fix it when I get home.

Should be fixed now.

I tried to add info for Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-061-S-01380-A) but having no console listed it won't allow me to submit info. :P

I fixed that, and am in the process of fixing other games that are missing a console.

A little thing I noticed after submitting a game:

Quote
A staff member will not review the submission, and if deemed valid it will be added to the database and you will be credited appropriately.

Should that be "now"?

I just noticed that the updated games list on the right side of the main page was showing the last 5 games I've added to my collection, not the last 5 games that have been updated, either that or it's one helluva coincidence.  :o

I think it has to do with the fact that you gave a rating to the games you added to your collection. Currently the Time stamp on each entry automatically updates to NOW()  every time the entry is updated, and when you rate a game the entry is updated. I'll look into that later. Not necessarily a bug, but I would imagine that we shouldn't care about when the game gets rated.

There is a listing in both the Euro and North American versions of the Sega Master list for a game called Borgman (http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-031-S-01160-A&), that game is actually Japanese exclusive and the NA and Euro version is called Cyborg Hunter (http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=U-031-S-00240-A&) which is already listed.

I thought I fixed that a long time ago. Damn I need to remove that game.
