This was on Fark yesterday. They said she ended up paying $14000 for the phone. I love old people. Title: Re: Old woman rents rotary phone for 42 years Post by: den68 on September 15, 2006, 09:00:39 AM I've got a couple rotary phones in a box somewhere. She can have them.... for a small fee.

Rotary phones kick huge amounts of ass. I wish I had one though. Maybe I should ask the phone company about leasing one."I'd like to have my rotary back," she said. "I like that better." Title: Re: Old woman rents rotary phone for 42 years Post by: Hydrobond on September 16, 2006, 12:37:44 PM Rotary phones are pretty sweet now because they are rare. But I don't see how you can still get away without one, any time you have to call a company you have to use a tone phone.

Title: Re: Old woman rents rotary phone for 42 years Post by: Hydrobond on September 22, 2006, 07:58:46 PM cell phones? ;p Possibly. But I was referring to our cordless phone. It has a battery backup for when the power goes out. It has come in handy on more than one occasion. Really pushing the buttons might save you what 30 seconds over turning the dial so what??? WTF? Did you miss the whole point of the article? She paid $14000 for a phone she could easily have bought for $30 at any department store. If she liked the phone, she probably could have bought the EXACT SAME MODEL. She's really dumb. That's it. No more questions. |
