Title: Updated game room pics
Post by: Sauza12 on September 01, 2006, 09:51:51 AM
I moved into a new house 2 months ago and I decided it's finally time to get pictures of my new game room up.  Here they are!

This is my CD/portable game shelf.  Got my Playstation, Dreamcast, TG16, GBA, N-Gage, DS, and TI-99 games on here.  On the bottom shelf I have my boxed Intellivision, 2600, 7800, and Vic-20 games.  Bunch of random stuff up top.

This exceddingly Dark picture is my PS2, Xbox, 32x, and Pico games.  The Pico games are below the 32x games.

My systems.  I have to find a way to get those cords back there in some kind of order.  Also a bad picture.

I think from now on we can assume that I am a sh*tty photographer.

This is my NES/SMS/O2/Saturn/Sega CD/PS longbox/Game Gear shelf.  there's my dehumidifier too.  It rocks.  Damn this picture sucks.  Was there an earthquake taking place when I took it?

Genesis and loose SNES games.  That mug is a trophy for one of my fantasy football leagues.  I can't be stopped.

More boxed genesis, as well as boxed SNES and N64 games.

The drawers on the left have my Atari 2600 and 7800 games in them.  The ones on the right have various handhelds, my loose Gameboy and Game Gear games (until I find a better way to store them......which I think I already have) and other random things.  The shelf in the middle has, of course, magazines and strategy guides.  My loose N64 games are in the drawer thing on top.  Oh yeah, and my 3DO games.

Donkey Konga is rad.

My Arcade machines.  I finally beat POW yesterday.  It took 8 credits, but I still beat it.

I put a bunch of things that came in blister packs on this.  I also have a few PS2 Demos on there.  I still can't figure out what I want to do with this.

These last pics are just shots of the entire room.  for comparion only.

Oh, yeah I forgot to take a picture of this.  That silver rack in the middle of this shot has my Game Cube games on it, and a bunch of video game related videos on it.  It also has some movies that are too stupid to keep with the good ones upstairs.

Damn this is a dark picture.

and that's it!  I need to put up some drywall and put in some tiling on the floor, but this works for now.

I do have a lot more room for stuff down there, especially after I get my furnace redone.  Right now I have one of those gigantic octopus furnaces, but it has a few cracks in the heat exchange.  I got a one year home warranty with the house, so in the fall I'm going to get a new furnace at the old owners expense.  :)

Looks like someone has the Sega Genesis! Very impressive, dude.

Also, we both own the same wire rack - the one with the height-adjust screws on the feet. I just transferred all my NES games to mine, tonight, in fact!

Sweet!  One of my friends gave me that when he was moving.  Free display racks are second only to free games.

And thanks to everyone else as well!

Man there is sooo much room for more games still.

Very nice set up you got going on. :)

I hate to be a Killjoy, but... what is the chances of your basement getting flooded?

You know I thought about that very same thing.

Sorry for the late replies.  Been busy lately.

There is a chance that my basement will flood, but I'm going to take precautions against it.

First of all, in the spring I'm going to try to grade the area around my house as much as possible to keep rainwater from draining towards the house.  If I can't get the proper grade, I have a drainage system planned out.

Once I get that done, I'm going to get my basement waterproofed.  It's pretty expensive to get done, but It will be worth it in the long run.

I also kept everything away from the sewer drainage in the basement.  To further keep the possibility of having a drainage backup damaging my games, I'm going to put up some drywall that will keep water away.

If all that fails, and my basement still floods, well that's what insurance is for!  ;)

A sump pump with a back up battery is a must for flooding basements.

Dry wall in a basement thats moist is a bad idea.  Mold will start to grow really quickly.  I suggest what funk said a good sump pump and some dry lock on the walls.  If all else buy some good metal shelfs (that don't rust) and store your games on them.

I've actually been able to keep the humidity in my basement at under 50%.  When I first moved in it was very moist, but not anymore.

I'm going to look into a sump pump.  Doesn't sound like a bad idea.  Thanks!
