Title: My bro got his leg broken (edited title :))
Post by: Izret101 on August 29, 2006, 07:53:56 PM
I just got a call from my dad about 20 mins ago that my brothers leg got broken in 7 places during football practice.

FUCKING PRACTICE!
That shit doesn't happen in a practice.

My bro had said some of the upper classmen and coaches were being dickheads to him and he has missed alot of practices so i think it happened because they were being assholes.

I know more than once when i played the coaches would match up bad players or players they wanted to "punish"(which would be my bro's case) against the biggest kids to knock the shit out of them.

I'll update when i know more info but as it stands now all i can do is assume and brood and fume and restrain myself from doing something stupid that will get me into serious trouble.

I just talked to my bro on the phone.

Apparently he and 8 other people got hurt today doing rediculous drills.

He got hurt during the very first hit of a drill i had never done or seen done before that apparently involved wrapping lifting and putting back down the person . You had to do 5 or 6 in under 30 seconds.

The kid who dropped my bro when i knew him was 5' 10ish 250-75 lbs. (depending on what sports season)Compared to my bro being 5' 2 and maybe 170lbs.

So i got far to angry over what was honestly an accident and not something done on purpose, which would have more likely been the case if it happened when i was still playing.

He seems to ba fine but in pain(obviously) and stinky. Hasn't been able to lean up since practice.

They gave him percs though.

I am running out to go pick up some wings since him my mom and stepdad haven't eaten in hours.

Still, I'd go kick their asses.

You should hope he gets a wheelchair. Wheelchairs are awesome. You can do wheelies in them, and ramp them and stuff. When my friend's brother broke both his legs, he got a wheelchair. It was sweet.

A specialist took another Xray today.

Turns out its not 7 breaks in 2 bones.

It is 3 breaks in his ankle and a floating hunk of bone.

The tibia and fibia are not attacked to his ankle right now.

How the other Xray tech got such a radically different diagnosis is beyond me...

@ Scott I would never get caught. I have way too much going for me to go to jail :)

@ Leons
Yea wheelchairs are sweet i hope he does get one, and mob attacks are also a good idea.

Don't know how much the final bill is going to be but luckily everything worked out to where insurance is going to cover 80%.

I would say the coaches were at fault. Lower legs near the ankle are bad places to break the leg hopefully since hes young his bones should heal fast..

when i broke my leg back in 96 the bill was over 10.000.00 thousand dollars  insurance did pay almost all of it.

I broke my ankle in what sounds to be a similar way to Anthony's brother. I have a plate and 7 screws in my leg/ankle area still.

Total cast was about 11k and I DIDN'T have insurance. I was back ice skating in about 2 months after the break.

DAMN SCOTT!

In anycase he goes in for surgery tomorrow.

The docs said he almost shattered his growth plate.
That would have sucked for him but made it funnier to watch him run :)

I broke the corner of one of the small leg bones off. So the plate was to hold that together and on the other side of my ankle I had the ligaments  sewn back together.

God I love hockey!

Shudders.

That sucks, and sounds really painful. Somehow I have not had the misfortune of breaking a bone / getting stiches (knocks on wood), though I did lose my two front teeth when I was 4, and my bottom incisors both have chips in them. Guess I was lucky back in the day when I played soccer and baseball.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

My bro is doing alright.

I got home a few minutes after he had finished crawling upstairs the other day, yes crawled he left his crutches in the room.  lol

He just HAD to play Dragon Quest VIII and couldn't wait 10 mins for someone to get back home.

He just couldn't wait the 10 mins for someone to get home.
