Anyone else excited for it? I know that roomers have been flying around about it since Predator 2. (They Probably will but) I don't see how they could mess it up because they have three books and two games to base it on.

I think this looks sick. From what i saw of the previews i dont think they can screw it up that bad.

It looks hella cool. I've been waiting for it for a while. I hope they don't.

They'll probably screw it up somehow, but I'm going to see it on the big screen anyway.  It's just one of those cheesy movies like Freddy vs. Jason that are so ridiculous that they're cool.  I'm not expecting too much, so hopefully I'll walk away surprised.

Freddy Vs. Jason was actually funny. I think the biggest problem they will have will be dialogue.

1)I will watch it opening day probably, and then cry when it isn't as good as I want it to be.

2)Is "sick" a good or bad thing?

Theres a HUGE chance of screwing this up. Look at Alien Ressurection.
All the comics and video games are cool, but of course that means nothing when some evil over paid producer bastard gets his filthy mits on the property.
Paul Anderson is directing it, who directed Mortal Kombat which would be the worst video game movie ever if Double Dragon and Street Fighter didnt exist.
Then again, he also directed Event Horizon which I thought was great,

I heard that AVP is rated PG13, witch means it is going to be a suck fest.  Without an R rating, all the cool things, like a predator ripping a douchebag in half will not be in the film.  If I find this to be true, I'm not going to watch the film ever.

It had damn well better not be PG13. PG13 doesnt even have blood come from wounds! No extreme blood, no swears, no grotesque malformations of bodies. PG13 will definately destroy any hope of this movie.
(Ok now someone can make fun of me because of my age and say i'll be able to get into it at least)

The original Predator is a true american classic, in my humble opinion. Especially when Jesse Ventura says things like "Buncha slack jawed faggots" and call himself a sexual Ty-ranasaurus. (Misspell I bet.)

I think Im going to pop that in the DVD player now and try not to think about how bad AvP probably is.

I saw the PG-13 rating too, it really pissed me off.

Has anyone heard how long this is supposed to be?  I don't see how they could get a decent story in if it is under 2 hours.

I can't see how this can possibly be any good. Paul Anderson has made exactly one decent movie in his entire career (Event Horizon) and that doesn't say much for this one. AVP also has a PG-13 rating, and even if you're not a totally gore obsessed violent movie freak, the rating still says something about the nature of this production. The filmmakers obviously care more about getting teenyboppers into the theater than they care about the quality of the movie. The long amount of time this movie spent in an unrated state also suggests that a lot of material was removed from the original cut, in order to achieve the PG-13 rating. That means.....directors cut! So we might as well just wait for the DVD and get the "actual" movie (which probably still sucks, but not as much).

God this movie was horrible. Here's a short list of reasons why. *Spoilers*










It takes place in 2004.
The use the name of the company over and over
The Xenomorphs (aliens) have been beefed up
The predators have been pussed out
One xenomorph kills two predators
The queen is about the size of a house
They say the xenomorphs are the ultimate pray when in the books and the movies its humans that are.
the predator wristblades can extend to be about 4 feet long
the predators didn't know that the Xenomorphs blood was acid
it said the that predator race first came to earth and were worshoped as gods. when in predator one was the first time they came to earth was in the 1980's and he was hunting humans.
the queen was stabbed through the head and didn't die.
rhe Xenomorph incubation time was way to fucking short

But predator won right??? I mean if alien won that will be complete shit. The rest just means that they didnt follow the old movie scripts.

A face hugger jumped on to one of the predators about halfway through the movie.
So at the end all three predators died and so did the queen alien Up from the chest of the last dead predator bursts out a Pred-alien.

So basically there will be no AVP2.

I still might consider it as a drive-in movie choice since I'm lucky enough to have a drive-in theater in my area. I'm pretty sure they still do double features so maybe I can get a sense of value, depending on the other movie. Being in that environment might offset the problems with the movie.

It is going to be OnDemand within the next year so watch it then.

Freak Boy:
The Predators actually did come earth thousands of years ago, not in the original Predator movie. They mention this in the comics and books, but also in the First and Second movie.
In the first movie, the woman mentions that this has happened before when its the hottest. And in Predator 2, at the end they give Danny Glover that old flint lock pistol, signifying that they've been doing this sort of thing for many years.

Yeah, but they were not worshipped as gods.

Well they mentioned that in the books a few times.

If a facehugger hugs a dog, does the alien that comes out become half dog? Answer: HELL NO!  The pred-alien is a result of gene-splicing done by humans, not a facehugger hugging some random dumbass.

I didn't see the movie and I will never see it, I refuse to let my money support such garbage.

There is something about aliens taking some traits from they're host, but nothing to extreme besides Predaliens and Pretorians. In the third movie, that alien spends so much time on all fours because its host was a dog. Or so all the nerdy

Im tired of movie companies fucking great franchises up.Warner Bros. is the worst, but Fox isnt much better.Warner Bros. even managed to fuck up the Matrix, not to mention what they did to Batman.

Well, I saw this movie at the drive-in with The Village (double feature). I'm still trying to decide which one was worse. AvP was completely retarded, but it got a few points for mindless entertainment. The Village was so boring I considered suicide multiple times.

Well i guess i will stay far away from bnoth of those then. Both of them were supposed to be good to... what a shame.

Meh.  Leon thinks a lot of good movies are bad.  AvP was terrible, but I liked The Village a lot.  If you have ADD, or you require that 750,000 people die in every movie you watch, along with exploding bushes and lots of nudity, stay away from The Village.  Otherwise, see it for yourself and make your own opinion.
