Title: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 25, 2004, 02:55:22 PM Was bored today and was too late lugging my lazy arse out of bed to get down to the local car boot, so instead decided to try and resurrect my Master System collection again. Went hunting on evilBay and scored:
Rampage GP Rider Mortal Kombat 2 and Zool All boxed with instructions, for £13.92 (including postage). I'll let you know when they arrive :P Incidentally, both Zool and MK2 are listed as 8/10 on Digital Press' rarity guide (not entirely sure how closely that should be followed!). I've also got some winning bids on: Impossible Mission (currently £0.01p with just under 2 days left :P) Ghost House (card format) Pro Wrestling (at 10p) Golfamania, Heavyweight Champ & World GP (lot of 3 @ £2) Fantastic Dizzy (another rare one) Penguin Land (well I did, but someone OBLITERATED my 1p bid with a 6p bid. I'll show him!! :P) All those are also boxed with instructions, let you know how I get on! Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Izret101 on July 25, 2004, 04:03:59 PM I wouldnt follow the rarity guide on digit press to closely.
And you should double that 6p bastards bid and show him how you really do it. what do you mean ghost house (card format)? Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 25, 2004, 04:06:49 PM The SMS Mk.I took game cards as well as cartidges, not a lot of games came out in this format though.

So far all I have is; Ghost House Teddy Boy Bank Panic & Transbot nice price you got on those games there, Master System stuff can be bought quite cheap on eBay, sometimes - the last few bargains i've got on eBay the sellers have welched on it though :( Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on July 25, 2004, 04:43:06 PM oh, and the Master System converter for the Mk1 Megadrive also lets you use the cards. I do not know if there is a compatible converter for the Master cards on the Game Gear though.
As far as I know, all of the cards were re-released in cart form. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Izret101 on July 25, 2004, 04:44:39 PM Thats pretty cool. Never new that. I dont know much about import stuff.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: deadducks on July 25, 2004, 04:47:23 PM The cards also came out in the states
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Izret101 on July 25, 2004, 05:04:25 PM I didnt know that, im going to have to be on the look out for them. How many were there?
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 26, 2004, 11:40:49 AM Just bagged Gauntlet as well for £2.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 27, 2004, 09:39:48 AM Scored another good bagain today - Batman Returns, Spiderman, Indiana Jones and Back To The Future II at £2.40 for all four (+£3 P&P).  All are boxed with instructions.
Zool arrvied today as well, and it's in excellent condition. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 27, 2004, 04:01:27 PM Phew, bidding is getting a bit hectic at the moment.
Ghost House is now at £10.50 with 20h left. My Fantastic Dizzy bids have been topped up to £3.70, which I probably won't chase any more. Noticed a copy of Outrun 3D in an innocent '4 Master System Games' auction and hoped nobody would find it.  I was wrong, and now I'm in a war with someone with me currently leading at £12, will probably go to £15 tops if I can be bothered :P Spotted another single copy of Outrun 3D which I have been topped all the way up to £5, likely to leave that one. Other auctions I currently have winning bids on: Strider 2 Krusty's Fun House Collection of 4 MS games (Prince of Persia, After Burner, Tennis Ace, Jungle Book) Pro Wrestling (still @ 10p!) The lot of 3 I mentioned before (same price) Master Games 1 Penguin Land (from 1p to £1 :P) California Games 2 Maze Hunter 3D P.S., sorry if this is boring anyone, I appear to be going on a bit :P Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Izret101 on July 27, 2004, 04:26:06 PM Well you can keep me posted on any wins you get always cool to hear about a good deal someone gets.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Lord Nepenthean on July 27, 2004, 09:35:11 PM Quote I didnt know that, im going to have to be on the look out for them. How many were there? Seven, I believe. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 27, 2004, 11:37:24 PM 8!
F16 Fighting Falcon Ghost House Hang On My Hero Spy vs Spy Super Tennis Transbot Teddy Boy Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on July 28, 2004, 09:54:01 AM I was incorrect with my list of cards in my collection
I have these; Ghost House Bank Panic Teddy Boy Spy vs Spy I looked just now, so Sureshot's list is not 100% correct it would seem. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 28, 2004, 11:02:18 AM Oh yeah, I totally forgot about Bank Panic, well done :P
Hmm I also just read that Smash TV and Woody Pop were also made in card format, If they were actually released or how available these were I'm unsure. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Lord Nepenthean on July 29, 2004, 09:32:04 AM Well, I was only going for a U.S. card release number. I guess there were a few more over on the other side of the pond.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on July 29, 2004, 09:35:02 AM now that would be sweet.
all the U.S & U.K SMS Card releases in my collection, and probably not too far out my reach, as say a full Saturn collection is. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 29, 2004, 09:48:39 AM Update:
Won Pro Wrestling @ 10p! :D Won Strider 2 Rampage, MKII & Gauntlet arrived today, all in fairly good nicker apart from Rampage which has a sticker on the cart and some pen on the manual, which it didn't say on the auction.  C'est La Vie! The lot of 4 games including Out Run 3D went for £17.02 in the end, beating my top bid of £15. Someone outbid me on the lot of 4 (Prince Of Persia, Jungle Book, After Burner and Tennis Ace). Someone is also outbidding me on Maze Hunter 3D, which is at £5.50 currently. Currently have winning bids on: Lot of 5 games (Kung Fu Kid, Strider, Teddy Boy, Basketball Nightmare, Enduro Racer) Master Games 1 California Games 2 And yeah THX I think I might try hunting for the card collection too if they aren't too pricey :) Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on July 29, 2004, 10:33:57 AM ebay is mad right now!
stuff selling too cheap, hence your cheap wins, yet my Gamecube and a game got bid up to £60 as the Americans say, "go figure" Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on July 29, 2004, 10:37:29 AM k - I just looked, and placed a bid on Hang On card.
don't outbid sureshot - there's a good chap. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 29, 2004, 12:39:15 PM I saw that THX, don't worry I'm only going for complete stuff :P
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on July 29, 2004, 02:22:00 PM ah, but the purest in me, wants a non-boxed hang on, cos that's how it came bundled with the Mk1 and the original hidden snail game
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 29, 2004, 02:40:40 PM Well good luck! :)
And I just unexpectedly won Fantastic Dizzy, quite pleased about that. Nice compensation for those other losses :) Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on July 30, 2004, 03:33:21 AM I have Fantastic Dizzy for the m.drive, and also I have a
double game cart, with two dizzy games on it. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: IceBladeX on July 31, 2004, 12:03:25 AM Today I got Zillion 2 (MS) for Three Bucks. Box and Instructions, and Silpheed for Sega CD for five bucks. Looks like its never even been played.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on July 31, 2004, 03:54:24 AM Nice one :)
I just scored the lot of 5 games (Kung Fu Kid, Strider, Teddy Boy, Basketball Nightmare, Enduro Racer) for a total snip at £3.50 (+ £1.20 P&P). Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Arrrhalomynn on August 01, 2004, 07:37:24 AM Enduro racer is cool. Go play it!
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on August 01, 2004, 11:43:06 AM http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8121645778
Bargain! :) Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: shadytool on August 01, 2004, 11:47:02 AM lol
that game is hilarious! nice find ;) Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: IceBladeX on August 02, 2004, 03:20:42 AM The name escapes me now, but I found a Samurai game for Master System. Anyone know what Im talking about? im going to buy it anyway since its only 3 bucks, but is it cool, or what?
Also, the same store has every single version of the Hang On combo cart, that is, until I buy them all.... Evil cackle goes here. Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on August 02, 2004, 10:38:11 AM The Ninja, Kenseiden, Shinobi...?
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on August 02, 2004, 11:16:34 AM budokan?
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Izret101 on August 02, 2004, 02:56:39 PM If its on SMS im gonna guess Shinobi. That game was alot of fun when i used to have it.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: IceBladeX on August 02, 2004, 10:56:45 PM I said samurai though IZ. Kenseiden is it. Looked kind of interesting.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on August 02, 2004, 11:29:21 PM It's not the greatest game in the world :P
And I've just had the postman come round at 7am to drop off about 5 of my auction wins, time to check 'em out! Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: IceBladeX on August 02, 2004, 11:34:02 PM Aha! I see you online sureshot. I dont feel so alone now.
The postman comes at 7am? Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on August 02, 2004, 11:45:46 PM Yeah I think it's the earliest delivery I've ever had! They generally come at around 8:30-9am. Perhaps it was THX :P
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: thx1138 on August 03, 2004, 12:55:12 AM Was it a large packet Sureshot? They are delivered by somone other than your regular postman, and can arrive at any time from 7am onwards.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Sureshot on August 03, 2004, 09:51:30 AM Yeah there were about 11 games in total.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: jonlester on August 08, 2004, 11:08:24 AM I still find it hard to believe that DP would rate SMS MK2 8/10 for rarity. Maybe a typo? It just seems that a popular title like that would have been manufactured in large numbers before they knew how many they would sell Maybe not.
Title: Re: Master System stuff Post by: Izret101 on August 08, 2004, 01:20:19 PM I've said it beofre and ill say it again dont trust everthing on DP everyone makes mistakes you should double check that rating else were but. But it could be true Sonic for the SMS is a 7 outta 10 i heard in a few places.
