Title: What's the Longest Time You've Spent on a Game? Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on June 13, 2006, 12:39:22 PM I'm just curious. What single game have you played the most? Let's not count MMO's although split-screen MP is fine.
For me it'd have to be Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Me and a friend ripped that game apart, we found every item and exploited every exploit. And then some kid broke my copy and I can't find it at any game stores and I'm too lazy to shop for it online. Tekken 3, GTA: San Andreas and the original Zelda would be close after that. I've also spent ridiculous amounts of time playing Super Mario Brothers 3, MoH: Underground and Rising Sun, FFVII and Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles (I actually took the time to beat it, like four times, and twice on multiplayer). I racked up a minimum of 24 straight hours of pokemone Red and Blue(this was done more than once). I have done 12-20 hour bouts of gaming for a ton of games both handheld and console. The longest i have ever put into one game also would probably the Pokemon Red and Blue versions. Betwen just those 2 it would be a bare minimum of 1,000 hours. Take into consideration. Yellow, Gold Silver, Crystal, Emerald and my time jumps considerably. FF3 and Lufia 2 also have at least 100-200 hours of my time invested into them. But none of the games i played nearly as much as the first 2 PKMN ones. If I didn't have to go to school it would have been longer. I beat the main missions in about 5 days then the action slowly dithered, so I went down to an hour or two a day for another month.
Then when San Andreas came out I couldn't play it much for the first week because I had to revise for a maths exam. That didn't stop me playing it four hours a day. Then I played it for that amount of time for two or three months. I think I spent well over 100 hours on San Andreas. Normally, I get bored with a game after ten hours, sometimes stretching to twenty if it's a good game. 500+ on Transport Tycoon Deluxe and its modds, I still put in about 50 hours a year on this one and I have had it since 1996. Probably less than that if you excluded lunch, bathroom breaks, and having to use a walkthrough a couple times since I didn't remember something.

I played 2 or 3 games just about everyday for almost a year. second would be HArry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for PS2. after i beat the campaign I played it for another few weeks till I complted every side quest and collected every Wizard card.
honorable mention would got to my Mattell Football II. it's been in my bathroom for a few years and gets played just about every day. heck, that's probably the one I've logged the most hours on. Overall, probably four hundred through the various Pokemon titles. Only one of my games has a full 100 saved hours on it, I've restarted the other versions... I don't know HOW many times. Diablo 2: Approx 1000 hours Starcraft: Approx 400 hours Final fantasy XI: 2000 hours Ridge racer 6: 100 hours Smash bros: approx 200 hours Smash bros melee: approx 300 ICO: Approx 70 hours Elder scrolls oblivion: 80 hours Pokemon red/blu: approx 200 hours Golden eye: approx 200 hours Theres alot of others, those are the main ones. Alot of them I played split screen multi player, others are online mostly. That is probably my number 2 most played games come to think of it... I spent a 17+ hour sitting in that at least 5 times. Summers were good for gaming... at least they use to be. After that I realy have no clue. Maybe NHLPA 93 for the Genesis or WarCraft II on the PC. I have near 150 hours on Disgaea and it took me about the same amount of time for Final Fantasy 8. I couldn't even guess how many hours I had on Final Fantasy 3/6. At one point I was trying to build all of my characters to level 99 and was meticulously taking note of every item you could win at the arena and every ability Gau could get. After that, I've spent over 100 hours on a bunch of games like Dragon Quest 8, Final Fantasy 2, and Chrono Cross. I spent forever getting abilities too. It was tons of fun though. As for SSBM i spent TONS of time playing it too. Between my house, Dans house, gameclub, another 2 friends house. This took the place of Goldeneye when i stopped using my N64. But i don't have a real count since i left the system running alot when i wasn't with it and i have played on so many different memory cards. WOW i didn't mention GoldenEye either! I sunk 400-500 hours into that game easy. 2 years of playing it regularly i am probably way over it I didn't mention Chronotrigger yet either. At least 100 hours in that i beat it a few times. I only remember getting 2 maybe 3 endings though. ATM i can't think of any games i dumped 100+ hours into but i am sure another one will come up in my mind. There have been plenty. I've probably sunk about 1000 hours into it. Hell, I put 100 hours into MvC2, according to the log, and I hardly even play that (even though it's a better game). I've also played the original MGS a whole bunch of times. When Twin Snakes first came out, I would beat it two or three times a day, back to back. I went like that for about 2 weeks. My best time was 1:31 / 1 save / 0 Continues / 0 times found / 0 Kills / Expert Mode

Hands down. I was really suprised only one other person even mentioned it. I haven't played it much in the last few years but I have been addicted to it for months at a time at least a dozen times. I have no idea how many hours, at least a thousand, maybe two, maybe more. Some other games I've played quiet a bit: Command and Conquer, Halo, Red Alert, the Gran Turisimo Series, and a little game called either Indy Racing or Indianapolis 500. It is a little racing sim made by Papyrus way back in the day, late 80's early 90's. Its very basic, one track, three different cars but boy do I love it. PC Gamer magazine even commented on it within the last year, thats how good it was. As for something to gauge by, I have played Star Wars: KOTOR for about 115 hours now. I know because the game keeps track of your time. I do not consider this to be close, at all, to any of the other games I mentioned.
