Post by: phoenix1967 on June 02, 2006, 04:28:53 AM Lately, most Ubisoft games can be purchased on any of the current-gen consoles (i.e.PoP, Tom Clancy games, etc.), but after E3 the only console that was mentioned to be able to play Assassin's Creed was on the PS3. I can understand no announcement for playability on the Wii, but why no 360?

I know that it's one of 2 PS3 titles that have impressed me (Heavenly Sword being the other) and with Ubisoft publishing it, I'm very curious to see if there will be an announcement regarding its availability on the 360 some time in the future.

It cost too much to make a game now a day to cut that much of a market out. If anything it will be "exclusive" for a set amount of time. I think the only exclusives you will see are one Published by the maker of the console.

Resident Evil, Metal Gear and Grand Theft Auto come to mind. Even if this upcoming Ubisoft game were a launch exclusive for the PS3, can you honestly tell me Ubisoft wouldn't sell Microsoft or Nintendo the game maybe 6 months down the road? I'd love to see some console exclusivity, it would give me a reason to prefer one console over another... as it is most of them just come off the same. With little differences, of course. But it's the special games for only one platform that really make a console stand out. Title: Re: Ubisoft question.
