Title: Xmen 3 Post by: Izret101 on April 28, 2006, 08:16:37 PM I just saw a short clip from the movie on Jay Leno.
Looks pretty damn awesome! I wonder how they are going to work Apocolypse into it. They have Sentinals so they must work him in. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Hydrobond on April 28, 2006, 09:04:27 PM All I know is, I cant't wait to see it.
The first and the second were good movies, especially the second. Hopefully the trend will continue. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Tynstar on April 29, 2006, 12:13:00 AM I am looking foward to this movie. I like the first two movies.
Anyone know why Nigh Crawler is not in this one? Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on April 29, 2006, 08:10:07 AM Kelsey Grammer as the beast! WTF?
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Izret101 on April 29, 2006, 08:27:37 AM An old one
(http://www.penny-arcade.com/images/2005/20051207h.jpg) He is also Sideshow Bob. A role he doesn't get nearly enough credit for IMO. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on April 29, 2006, 04:58:33 PM Yeah it's funny all the people who don't realize Fraiser s Sideshow Bob. But still, an action role? That's just weird. I guess it'll mostly be CG action though.
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: NES-a-holic on April 30, 2006, 01:27:25 PM I like most comic book based movies, Xmen 1 and 2 were great to watch so i guess 3 will be awesome.

Likewise...I'm definitely looking forward to the third one! Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: den68 on May 02, 2006, 07:39:25 AM Quote Yeah it's funny all the people who don't realize Fraiser s Sideshow Bob. But still, an action role? That's just weird. I guess it'll mostly be CG action though. right. most of his action will probably be CG and in makeup he'll be nearly unrecognizable. so you need a distinctive voive for that character. Grammar is a great choice for that reason. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: wrldstrman on May 12, 2006, 06:44:52 PM what would be cool is if the made a movie of the old 70s justice leauge
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Izret101 on May 18, 2006, 08:01:47 AM Me and some friends are trying to get a ton of people we know together in hopes of renting out an entire theater.
It would be really cool and hopefully we are notifying people early enough to be able to do it. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Hydrobond on May 18, 2006, 11:00:12 AM Quote right. most of his action will probably be CG and in makeup he'll be nearly unrecognizable. so you need a distinctive voive for that character. Grammar is a great choice for that reason. Damn, then there shoulda been a James Earl Jones character in there. Talk about a voice! Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Mike Leon on May 25, 2006, 11:02:25 PM I just saw it. It's absolutely positively AWFUL. Everyone in the movie theater was making fun of how bad it was after it ended. There are like 35 storylines going at the same time. None of them would be worth watching alone, much less packed together into 2 hours. The dialogue is hilariously bad. It's on the level of Superman 4 on the bad superhero movies chart.
Quote I wonder how they are going to work Apocolypse into it. They have Sentinals so they must work him in. Sorry Izret, there is a hint of one sentinel, but they don't actually show it. And Apocalypse wouldn't be caught dead in this shit sandwich of a film (he also doesn't have anything to do with sentinels so I'm not sure where you got that idea). Oh, and yes, Kelsey Grammer actually kung fu fights and stuff. It's retarded as hell. It's not even a good fan service because it strays so drastically from the comics. There were only two redeeming qualities. -Cyclops dies like 5 minutes into the movie. It's so early I don't even count this as a spoiler. I hate that whiny queermo. -Juggernaut actually says "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch" I'll go ahead and warn you not to waste your $9, but I know you'll go see it anyway. Apparently there's a hint of a sequel after the credits (i didn't waste my time to see it). I hope to sweet Jesus there isn't a sequel. This franchise needs to die now. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: captain_nintendo on May 26, 2006, 11:22:07 AM wierd, I saw alot of people (not critics) saying it was pretty good. :-/ Guess I will have to judge for myself. ;)
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Izret101 on May 27, 2006, 09:39:16 AM Well i already had plans to see it tonight with 5+ other friends.
We watched X2 last night to recap(1.5 hours driving around to find a copy, it was an adventure) I thoughyt i had saw somewhere that apocolypse was in it. Of course i may have just seen some other comic related item earlier and mind fucked myself. I am pretty dissapointed that there isn't a shit load of sentinals... Oh well we will have a good time regardless of the movies possible suck factor. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Hydrobond on May 27, 2006, 10:25:11 AM I thought it was decent. They still have no clue how magnetic fields and internal forces work, but it's a movie. It was entertaining and I enjoyed it. It may not have been on par with #2 but I still had a good time.
I didn't care for some of Magneto's new friends, the whole Asian thug thing just doesn't work. Anyone know the mutant name of the bird dude? Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Zimbacca on May 27, 2006, 11:55:16 AM Archangel. He wasn't in nearly long enough for the way the previews showed him.
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Tynstar on May 28, 2006, 07:01:57 AM Quote Archangel. He wasn't in nearly long enough for the way the previews showed him. The previews showed him as the Angel not Archangel. ;) Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: captain_nintendo on May 28, 2006, 02:08:25 PM Indeed, Angel, a.k.a. Warren Worthington the 3rd ;)
Link for Scott to look at. http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/j/juggernaut.htm Juggernaut is not a mutant. I wont say why I posted this, as it may be a spoiler to the movie. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: captain_nintendo on May 28, 2006, 02:13:09 PM Quote I didn't care for some of Magneto's new friends, the whole Asian thug thing just doesn't work. The people Magneto had join him were mostly a faction of mutants known as "The Morlocks" I can see there being more X-Men movies in the future. Apocalypse has yet to really show his face, and that of course would involve the Sentinals :) Good times. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Tynstar on May 28, 2006, 05:09:42 PM I liked the movie. Sure it didnt follow the comic but it was still good. Seemed really short compared to teh first 2 films.

Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Izret101 on May 28, 2006, 10:21:33 PM Yea there were alot of holes in the movie.
It was decent but it was way over hyped. Especially since i got totally Xmen dorky with a friend of mine for about a week ahead of seeing the movie. They "ruined" alot of storylines. In anycase i am really looking foreward to more X-men movies. And fewer Storm scenes. But she is a MAJOR character now... Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: captain_nintendo on May 29, 2006, 07:18:47 AM Yeah, but even in the comics she was a major player. Even was in charge of the Xavier Institute while Charles was "away".
I am going to bust out my X-men comics and read them :P Anybody else read X-men? I mean I havent collected in years, but I have alot of the good ones ;) Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on May 29, 2006, 08:38:53 AM I read the Dark Phoenix saga and also anything else I could find at libraries. Best was solo Wolvie and second best was Uncanny.
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Mike Leon on May 29, 2006, 01:12:30 PM Quote I can see there being more X-Men movies in the future. Apocalypse has yet to really show his face, and that of course would involve the Sentinals Where is everyone getting this? Apocalypse doesn't have anything to do with sentinels. Onslaught took control of the sentinels. Are you confusing the two? The only storyline that features both sentinels and Apocalypse is the Age of Apocalypse, in which the sentinels are trying to kill Apocalypse. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Tynstar on May 29, 2006, 02:57:06 PM Quote Where is everyone getting this? Apocalypse doesn't have anything to do with sentinels. Onslaught took control of the sentinels. I thought the goverment created the Sentinels. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on May 30, 2006, 07:26:41 PM God damn it, why did they have to make this so...so... retarded? I never saw X2 so maybe I missed something but still, you have the awesome and major Dark Phoenix storyline and you mix it up with this Cure plot turning Dark Phoenix into a subplot? Why? I don't even know why Jean was in the movie, it was ridiculous, they could have just been cool about it and made the movie entirely about Dark Phoenix, but no, we have to let the scriptwriters add their genius.
The only cool thing was Magneto playing chess at the end and Juggernaut, although his costume was sucky. And if Wolvie would just wear yellow spandex for twelve seconds then it would be worth watching, but there's none of that either. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Hydrobond on May 31, 2006, 04:26:34 AM Do you really want to see Wolverine in spandex?
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: captain_nintendo on May 31, 2006, 05:57:46 AM Phoenix did do some major things early on in the movie, but "sat on the sidelines" until very late in the movie.
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: den68 on May 31, 2006, 06:44:40 AM I think I might be going to see this tonight. My daughter is going to a concert with gramma.
@Cap - I've got a load of X-men comics, low 90's through 300 something I think. I've been thinking about pulling them out and re-reading them. though some have gotten rather pricey over the years, not sure I want to touch them. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: captain_nintendo on May 31, 2006, 06:51:57 AM Cool Den!
I have alot of those Uncanny X-men from the early 90's as well :) I have a wide range of Uncanny X-men from 230 - 325ish. I have the X-men series that started in the early 90's as well. Like 1- 100 Great stuff |D Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: den68 on May 31, 2006, 08:01:15 AM when I said low 90's I meant issue #'s. back when Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, etc. joined the team.
I quit collecting in 1996 or 97. the biggest part of my collection was all the mutant titles. X-Mne, X-Force, X-Factor, Wolverine, NEw Mutants. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Tynstar on May 31, 2006, 08:02:56 AM Quote Do you really want to see Wolverine in spandex? I second that. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: Tynstar on May 31, 2006, 08:03:43 AM Giant Size #1 is when the new X-Men team formed. Issue 94 was the first regular issue.
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on May 31, 2006, 08:48:31 AM Well wolvie wore spandex anyways, it just wasn't bright yellow.
Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: den68 on May 31, 2006, 11:55:36 AM Quote Giant Size #1 is when the new X-Men team formed. Issue 94 was the first regular issue. got em both. and pardon me for not being specific. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: den68 on June 01, 2006, 05:06:21 AM saw the movie last night. I liked it. sure it strayed far from actual X-Men continuity but the first 2 did too.
looks like it won't be the last stand either. every time Juggernaut was on screen I kept seeing him as the football hooligan from Eurotrip. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on June 01, 2006, 11:03:51 AM Quote every time Juggernaut was on screen I kept seeing him as the football hooligan from Eurotrip. That was driving me crazy. Vinnie Jones is a badass sure, but he ain't no Juggernaut. They shoulda gone with someone bigger. Title: Re: Xmen 3 Post by: wrldstrman on July 12, 2006, 10:17:10 PM by the time i got around to go see the movie it wasnt in the theater anymore
