Title: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: captain_nintendo on April 24, 2006, 08:37:25 AM So, I redid my Room of Doom last night and was pretty pleased with the outcome.
What do you think? Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on April 24, 2006, 08:40:13 AM I think I can't see anything.

My bad. :P http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/collection.pl?action=profile&name=captain_nintendo&folder=Collection Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on April 24, 2006, 08:46:55 AM Yeah, that's too much work for my mind to compute right now.
Also, holy CRAP!!! Nice room and nice stuff filling it. Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: NationalGameDepot on April 24, 2006, 09:02:32 AM Never seen your collection before, very impressive. I am jealous of all your CIB games. I wish I wouldn't have started buying loose games, but oh well. Now I get to go back and try to find boxes and manuals for it all. Games like SE and Myriad will be impossilbe to find boxes and manuals for. Looks great bro :(

I wish! I may buy an original release someday, but for now, the rerelease that came out a few years back will do ;) Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: Speedy_NES on April 24, 2006, 11:02:33 AM Nicely reorganized man and some nice new additions!! Awesome room of doom man! I especially like the new additions...when did you get that RoboCop cab btw?
Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: captain_nintendo on April 24, 2006, 11:05:12 AM Quote Nicely reorganized man and some nice new additions!!  Awesome room of doom man!  I especially like the new additions...when did you get that RoboCop cab btw?  Robocop was actually my first arcade cab if I remember correctly. I have had it for 4 years now I believe. Thanks for the compliments Pieter. I have had it for 4 years now I believe. Oh, was it also shown in your previous room of doom pics? I don't remember seeing it, but it's probably just my memory failing on me then ;) Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: yap on April 24, 2006, 11:26:22 AM I really want to get some arcade games now. I went to my first auction last year, only I showed up a little late and missed out on a Street Fighter: Hyper Fighting for under $200..
Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: NES-a-holic on April 24, 2006, 11:32:56 AM Nice collection it looks mega sweet, how many games do you have now?
Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: captain_nintendo on April 24, 2006, 12:25:29 PM Quote Nice collection it looks mega sweet, how many games do you have now? 1229. Of course I am missing some loose games here and there. I also have some demos I need to add. Speedy, yep I have always had that Contra/ Robocop picture ;) Yap, Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition is what I want, along with a game none of you have probably never seen. Cyberball 2072 (4 player edition) I would give up my Contra and Robocop (becuase I dont have the space for more) for those 2 games. I also would like to have a Mortal Kombat 2. Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: Speedy_NES on April 24, 2006, 12:31:51 PM Quote Speedy, yep I have always had that Contra/ Robocop picture ;) Damn, I really gotta take it easy on the alcohol ;) Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: tholly on April 24, 2006, 03:50:35 PM amazing collection....awesome pics...

I was in the room last night sorting and organizing, and the "feel" of the room is just right :) About the only space I have left is in the closet, and if I put some shelving up high. I suppose eventually it will come to that. Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: yap on April 25, 2006, 05:50:08 AM I've seen the 4 player cyberball. It's one of my favorite games as well. I actually saw some for sale a few years ago, but I didn't have my own home then. Street Fighter (hyper fighter, or champ edition, or even capcom vs snk 1 or 2) and Cyberball would be my biggest want list right now too.
I've probably played more of those games than any other. I think Cyberball had 2 versions, and I think the second one was pretty good - but I remember the titanium tight end was pretty overpowered. Maybe it's time to start e-baying some of the parts. I don't want to pay freight for a full cabinet. Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: yap on April 25, 2006, 05:51:50 AM Oh yeah I meant to say this in my first comment... awesome pics. Your room is sweet.
Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: captain_nintendo on April 25, 2006, 06:19:58 AM Thanks Yap.
I played in and won a "state" tournament for Cyberball back in the day. I was the best player in my state. A friend of mine owned an arcade and we used to have tournamnets every weekend until like 3 or 4 in the morning. So when the state tournament at "Castles and Costers" came along I was more than prepared for anyone. ;) I have had a few chances to buy a full Cyberball over the years. If a chance comes up again where I can get it locally, I will not pass it up. And yes there was 2 versions. I liked the second version better as well. There was one arcade in town that had modified team names too. In the game originally there was a team called the "Tokyo Flash" and the name was change on this one unit to the "Phoenix Flash". There may have been some other name changes, but I cant recall them. My teams were: San Francisco Hitmen, from the first version. and The California Crush from the second game. Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: yap on April 25, 2006, 07:42:07 AM Wasn't that a passing team? I liked the running teams more. London Lightning!
Ebay has 2 Cyberball cabinets for sale. One looks like the real one (the wide-squat one). $1200 but it's pickup only in California. I'd easily pay that much for one if I could pick it up around here. I liked the balanced team in the second version becuase the titanium T.E. and half back were availible to only the balanced teams ;) Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: Joker_T on April 25, 2006, 03:22:24 PM Very nice collection, and good use of space.

Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: den68 on April 27, 2006, 04:46:32 AM ugh! that's even worse. that means you have something Patrick Roy actually touched in your house.
As a Wings fan and Detroiter it is my duty to hate him. here's my favorite Patrick Roy moment: http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2002/06/01/spt_roy_disintegrates.html Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: Tynstar on April 27, 2006, 10:20:43 AM A person that lives in Denver sent it to me.
God that was a great game. I was mad I missed the start of that game becasue of work. When I got in my truck and turned the game on I was shocked by the score. I thought I had heard it wrong. Title: Re: Room of Doom 2006 version 2.0 Post by: den68 on April 27, 2006, 11:54:49 AM *sigh* yeah it was. sadly it looks as though they'll be bounced in the first round this year by the lowly Oilers.
well hopefully they'll get it together tonight. |
