Title: Ultimate Avengers!
Post by: captain_nintendo on February 24, 2006, 04:23:31 AM
So..... Anybody else pick this up?

I was actually pleased with the whole thing overall.
I thought it was drawn very well and the voice acting was pretty good.

A few things I thought were questionable or I had questions about. (I never followed the Avengers closely)

1.) Was Thor ever a "enviromentalist" ? There are a few times where it is said or seen in the show where he is "protesting" the some things involving the enviroment.

2.) When did Nick Fury become black ? (WTF?)

Thats about it. I dont know if this was offered everywhere, but Wal Mart had a mini comic with it. I belive it is on sale until Sunday for the price of 13.88.

wasn't one of Thor's secret identities (Sigurd Jarlsson) an enviromentalist?

I didnt like the trailer and if I watch this I will want to finish my Avengers comic collection. I most resist watching this movie.

I never read the Avengers.  I was always more of a fan of Spiderman and X-men.

Thor has had so many secret identities over the years that I stopped keeping track.  I only read Thor for a few months back in the day and that was when his secret identity was that bearded "hard-ass".  He was no environmentalist.

As for Nick Fury, this is all part of Marvel trying to diversify thier comics.  It started with casting Michael Clark Duncan as the Kingpin.  This is just the continuation of that, and it's the stupidest fucking thing I have ever seen.

Hmmm, for 14 bucks I should really go pick this up.  Of course that will probably get me back into buying comics just a scant year after I sold off and gave away 90% of my old collection.
