Dear Mr Brown

I am pleased to have succesfully bid on the above item, and I am contactring you regarding payment. I have recieved the invoice. I am currently in the process of setting up a PayPal account as I havnt purchased via ebay before and I assume this is the fastest and best way to make the transfer.

Once Ive had confirmation from PayPal I will make a payment for £87.65 (£78.00 for the Atari bundle and £9.65 for postage and insurance) and intend to pay by Switch, if that is ok?

I am keen to make the transfer quickly so hopefully PayPal will get a move on!

If you want to get hold of me during the day please cc the email to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Man, that made me nervous. I sent this reply;

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,

thanks for your e-mail. Like most regulat sellers I require payment promptly. Pay-Pal can take a long time to set up.
If you've registered your Switch card, which I assume is connected to your current account, then they have probably dedcuted two small amounts of cash as a security measure, and want you to input those details when they show up on your statement before you can register fully with them.

May I suggest that if you have acces to online banking you check those amounts now, or go to a cashpoint and get a "mini-statement"  - otherwise it may take a long time to set up.

Like most sellers I hope to get payment within 7 days, I need prompt payment so that I may purchase more stock.
If you are having trouble setting up a Pay-Pal account you may send me a cheque or postal orders.

check out my feedback, out of the last 1,500 trades I have made only 1 person was unhappy with my service!

regards
Mark

anyway, I have been paid now. Yay! :)

At least you didn't get one of those 12 year old newbies.  They are the main reason that I haven't started selling any games or comics on Ebay yet.

yeah, tell me about it! I had a load of mint/sealed/signed comics, I ended up selling those at a public auction house.

PS1 games seems to attract the juveniles too! :(

For a while I did ebay as a 3rd person.  I would bid with a friends account and hand over the cash to him if I won.  It worked well for a while, but then he moved.  When I have a real job, I'll get my own ebay account, and start buying saturn games again.
