Title: EGM "Top 200 Games of Their Time" List Post by: Lord Nepenthean on January 13, 2006, 08:08:10 AM Gaming magazines and sites are constantly trying to come up with "best games of all time" lists.  They always end up having Madden 200X, Halo 2, Devil May Cry 2, The Sims, and one random classic game in the top 5.  The rest of the list always sucks equally.
Well, EGM just did a "Top 200 Games of Their Time" list for their 200th issue.  I was very skeptical to say the least, but it is actually a very good list in my opinion.  Sure, there are a few games here and there that I would move around on the list, but overall it is a great list.  They didn't leave out games like Devil's Crush, Marble Madness, Warlords, Herzog Zwei, Cardfighter's Clash, or even Quest for the Rings.  An Odyssey^2 game on a top 200 list?  Crazy.  The top 20 is also very good.  You could argue whether #3 and #4 (randomly picked numbers there) are in the "right" order, but I think they did a great job here.  Check out the list (thanks go to Moonsweeper of the Atari Age forums who typed this all out). As a side note, they have also set up a web page where you can submit games that you thought they missed.  They will be collecting all the responses and listing the top 25 games they left out as voted by readers.  Kudos on that as well. 200. I think Halo 2 should have been swapped with Halo though.
