Title: Chronicles of Narnia
Post by: den68 on December 28, 2005, 04:51:43 AM
we took our daughter to see this the day after Christmas. I thought it was very good. I haven't read any of the books but after seeing the movie I may want to.

It was a kids movie so in the end none of the heroes were killed but it was quite violent and had good action. It had a lot of CG but it blended nicely with the live action.

anyone seen it?

I haven't seen it yet.
I started reading the series a few years ago when i got it for Xmas and it was pretty good.

But around book 5 i lost it and stopped reading.
About a week later I found that when i had fallen asleep while reading i must have rolled over and the book fell behind the leg of my bed and the wall which was why i didn't find it when i looked for it.

My Grandma got me the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe for Christmas.    :P Sure, I read the books and loved them, when I was twelve, and I also own them all. Oh well, grandma's a grandma, I traded it for a Sin City GN.

I will be picking it up. My wife and I went and saw it. Pretty good but kinda slow.

We thought of it as a kids version of Lord of the Rings.

I will probably be picking this up. I havent heard anything horrible about it, and I am sure it has the "new release" price of 14 dollars right now.

I bought the special edition for $27 at best buy. It has a TON of bonus features, over 10 hours worth, I have only cracked about 2 hours of them.

I loved the movie, and now want to read the series. Anyone know if they plan on making anymore movies for this series or not?

They are, the actors are already signed. But i believe it will be based on the third book, not the second, or something like that

I have yet to see it. It didn't look too enticing, but, from what I've heard, it's a very good movie. I might look into it when I set aside all of this free time I have.

The movie was excellent. My wife & I really enjoyed it. My wife read all the books & seen the earlier movie version, so she had a better idea of what was going on. I would recommend this to anyone.

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe was the 2nd book ;)

The first book was the Magicians Nephew and would NOT have made a good movie in theaters.
It just leads up to the second book more or less if memory serves.
Den is reading it now and i haven't read it in years so he will be able to shed more light than i would.

I just finished the Magicians Nephew. It was basically an origin of Narnia story. also some other backstory stuff and the origin of the wardrobe. nothing big enough happened to make for a very exciting movie.

I just started the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. the first 20 minutes or so of the movie is like 2 sentences in the book.

I plan on picking up the DVD this weekend.

Ok, bought it and it was pretty good. After watching it, I realized I must have read the book when I was younger.

Decent Movie, but in the end you can tell that Lewis and Tolkien were Friends
