Nintendo is unveiling it at a pre-E3 press conference on May 9th. Nintendo first showed off the case design of the Revolution and spoke about its extensive backwards compatibility capabilities at E3 last year. The firm then unveiled the innovative controller for the system, which tracks the hand movement of the player, at the Tokyo Game Show in September - but to date, no software for the console has been revealed. It comes as no real surprise that Nintendo has chosen E3 2006, which will kick off the day after the press briefing, to showcase its new machine. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz earlier this month, European marketing VP Jim Merrick echoed comments previously made to this site at E3 last year when he said: "I would be very disappointed if I went to E3 and didn't play Revolution games." It also seems the console will be ready for show and tell in time, if rumours regarding its CPU, codenamed Broadway, are to be believed. According to US website RevoGaming, IBM has now finished work on the chip and has shown Nintendo a prototype - which Nintendo has in turn shown to selected developers. The contrlloer still look lame and the lack of full HDTV support sucks still.

The 360 games on HDTV are not impressive to me whatsoever, that processing power could have easily been put to better use (more realistic regular TV). I think the controller is sweet. Nintendo better not let me down again. I looked forward to N64 and lost alot of good genesis games to buy N64 games that ended up being more or less lackluster :-/ GCN i didn't get much use out oof either but to be fair that is partially my fault as well. On PSO for the GameCube you see the tree with S-video. It looks like one big green thing. In HD you can see the leafs.

But the fact is you can see a tree just fine on regular TV, and videogames have not gotten to the point where they come close to regular TV yet. Title: Re: Revolution to be unveiled at E3. On IGN George Harrison, Senior VP of Marketing at NOA, had the opportunity to respond to the question of when they would reveal all the pieces of the puzzle. His response was as follows: "You'll slowly begin to know more as we enter 2006 and as the year unfolds, and especially at E3, you'll be immersed in Revolution news. " I am taking that as meaning that some things will be revealed before E3, but then he could have just lied.
This is what the mailer said that Nintendo Sent out: "You're probably just starting to plan your time for 2006. With a mere 165 days to go (give or take), it's time to start thinking about next year's E3. Nintendo is most certainly thinking about it. So pencil us in," the company wrote in an official mass-mailing to media. "You'll hear all the incredible details about Nintendo's upcoming games and hardware, including our next home console, codenamed Revolution. You won't want to miss it. See you there." The way I see it, games will probably not be revealed until May; however, there are things other than games that will need to be revealed. Consoles are more confusing AND more popular than ever. Anyone that's willing to spend a a few hundred bucks on something is willing to find out how it works. There's a lot more people out there than 14-32 year old men who like John Madden and racing games.

Sure the 2600 had 1 button, but most games had all kinds of switches you had to pull to get the game set, it was a lot more confusing than current menus.

I want to jump into a game and start play not trying to figure out the controls.
I play a norden hockey game and you can do 100's of different things now. Yet I still only use the same moves that I had in NHLPA 93 for the Genesis.
