Sony, ESA Offer Charity Game Pack for Holidays

Gamers can do good and have some fun with a new limited-edition charity game pack being released in time for the holidays on PS2. Priced at just US$19.95 the pack includes Sony's ATV Offroad Fury 2 (rated 7.0 by GameSpot), THQ's Splashdown: Rides Gone Wild (rated 8.2), and EA's Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 (rated 8.5).

The multi-disc set is available at retail outlets nationwide while supplies last. Proceeds from sales of the ESA Charity Game Pack will be donated to the ESA Foundation to help support positive programs for America's youth.

Believed to be the first effort of its kind the U.S. video game industry, the ESA Charity Game Pack was made possible by a number of companies who donated services or waived royalties. These include American Honda, Bombardier, CMB Design, EA, Kawasaki U.S.A., Rainbow Studios, Shorewood Packaging, SCEA, Sony DADC, and THQ.

"We are thrilled and gratified that so many in the video game community... have come together to create this terrific limited-edition game pack that we hope will raise several million dollars for the ESA Foundation to donate to organizations working to improve the health, safety, and welfare of America's young people," said ESA honcho Douglas Lowenstein. "The proceeds from this game pack will make a real difference in the lives of many, many children."

"Throughout the years, the ESA has demonstrated both its dedication to our burgeoning industry and to the youth of America through the various programs it develops, executes and supports," added SCEA boss Kaz Hirai (left).

I haven't seen any, but I will post here if I do.  So far no info on where/how/when to actually buy it.  It would be kind of bad to have a charity pack that nobody knows how to purchase.  I doubt they'd collect much money that way.

I picked one up today at my Circuit City and they have one left.

I completely orgot about it until i saw it today.
They have been there for awhile but never really displayed well.

It was 19.99 it does have the 3 games.

It also has its own part number and an outer cardboard case so i will be adding it to the database later.

It is called the ESA Foundation Compilation but that can only be found on the price sticker.

I will check on the definate title later.

i bought one last year, i only wanted hot pursuit 2 so i gave the other 2 away and hot pursuit 2 by itself was the same price anyway so i figured why not, they all have not for resale on the covers as well.

I had no intention of opening mine because i am not to terribly interested in any of the games.
Bought it more for a conversation/collection piece than anything.

Plus the money is going towards a good cause.
