No i already asked before :)

But the pics won't be able to get used on the site untill we get the hardwaer section of the site up.

Although we could use things like the Arkanoid controller for extra media on the Arkanoid game page since it was packaged with the game.

Good point ;)  I could do this, too, if nobody else does it before I get a chance to...same goes for 3D glasses for Rad Racer :)

What list are you using where you are only missing those two controllers?  As far as I know there isn't even a [somewhat] complete NES accessory list out there (at least not until RFGen starts adding hardware ;)).  As for the controllers that you're missing, I've seen the Beeshu Gizmo multiple times.  Here's a pic from a fellow collector:

As for the Hot Stuff joystick, I was unsure of its existence for a while as well...will have to wait until I have access to my NES accessory file to double check whether I verified that one's existence or not.

Do you also have the Winner Products accessories (UFO joystick, UFO Wireless joystick, and the Flight Yoke)?  These and many others are not widely known due to their rarity, but do exist.  I didn't see any of these in your collection pics, as well as quite a few others such as several QuickShot controllers, the two 'chair' controllers, various simple controllers, the two one-handed controllers, etc, etc (all released in the US).  There's really many more accessories out there than one would think.  ;)

He is using the DigitPress list that they got from another source on the web.
The same list was all done by one guy who sourced everything and then has been used on a bunch of other sites as there own.

I could find the links to it again for you if you would like.
Shouldn't bee to hard. So long as you use the proper search words in your favorite search engine ;)

Ahh ok...you mean the older DigitPress list (before I updated it a couple months ago...still missing a lot of info that I have accumulated since then, though, that I'll most likely just save for here ;))...I think I know the site you are talking about as well...it had a grey background and had pics for the accessories listed on there (plus rarities IIRC), right?  I thought that they got their info from DigitPress but vice versa does make sense since they did have pics to verify the accessories on there...too bad I lost the link....I'll try to find it on google again...let me know if you find it, too.

Actually the one i found was older than that.
Maybe that was a newr update of it.
The one i saw was last updated in 2001 but was started i believe in 1998.

Actually Captain_Nintendo will know what site i am tlaking about.
I found it while crossrefeancing NES part numbers and gave him the link.
Although that may have been one of the spinoff sites i had found. If it was it only had a complete list of US NES games with all partnumbers with the exception of unliscnese games

But the very first time i found it was while looking for a NES rarity guide.

It prety much was a huge listing of NES stuff from the US and Uerop.
Very informational.
I have shared info from it with members from the boards as well as given atleast a dozen other people the link.

You would thnk i would have bookmarked it since i used it so much LOL

I wonder if the Beeshu Gizmo actually came with headphones (as pictured on the box and manual)?  In the pics that I have from other collectors, none seem to have headphones...and I just bought an 'unused' boxed Gizmo recently that also doesn't seem to include headphones.

speaking of nes accessories how about we make a list here of the accesories we have that are known.everyone add to the list the items they actually have in their collection .once item listed no need to repeat.but some of the controllers listed on sites ive never seen and i have some that ive never seen listed.if we could list controller and company that would help us looking for things that maybe no one else knew about.

Nice collection there :)

From the top of my head, I know that the following accessories were also released in the US and are not present on your list:

Messiah Wireless controllers ;)
Hot Seat (chair controller)
Simulator 1 Action Chair (chair controller)
Honey Bee Family Adaptor (not HB 'Converter', this one is 2x the size)
Beeshu Gizmo
Shinsei Hyper (controller)
Shinsei Hyper Stick
Game Handler
Grip-It
QuickShot Starfighter 1 (2x wireless)
QuickShot Starfighter 2w (non-wireless)
QuickShot Wizmaster Wireless
QuickShot Intruder 2
Racermate CompuTrainer Pro
Wico Command Control rectangular stick
Wico Command Control square stick
Triton Gamemaster Programmable controller

also a bunch of accessories from Winner Products (these were advertised to be sold in the US, and do exist apparently with US address on the box, but the only person that owns some of them that I know of bought them from Australia, so there is a chance these were not distributed in the US)

I know that there are more, as there are a lot of accessories available for NES...I know of almost 350 accessories including variations at the moment that were released worldwide...these are verified either by owning it myself or by authentic pics.  Since I spent an enormous amount of time in the past 6 months acquiring most the info I don't want to just copy paste it here (I don't think it would fit anyway ;)).  I'm going to wait until RFGen gets the accessory lists going before I make all of the info public.  I don't mind comparing your list to mine to check for the US releases, though, but that's gonna take a lot of time and it's bed time for me now.  I'll take a look at my list sometime later this week/weekend to compare to yours...I know I'm missing a couple that you have listed too:

the red blaster....videoline inc
and  wing commander   hotetic...is that the stick in the top left in this auction (with the orange buttons on the sides)?:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Huge-lot-38-controllers-Joysticks-Power-glove-for-Nes_W0QQitemZ8231987802

Could you maybe take pics of those two controllers?  That would be awesome!

Thanks,
-Speedy

Well, I've never been able to verify the US release.  I'm sure that it must have been released there, and it's been on the US eBay, but all the pics I've ever seen are from the Euro hands free controller.  Somebody told me that there is a version with red instead of blue buttons, so I would assume that if that's true then that one could be the US version...but I haven't been able to verify any of that yet ;)

the game handler is that a newer one that there are tons listed on ebay all the time.

Title: Re: nes accesories
Post by: Speedy_NES on November 09, 2005, 07:24:16 AM
The game handler is not a newer one, it was sold in the early 1990's.  The new ones on eBay are all from the same seller so I assume that he found new old stock.

Also, nice win on the Challenger!  I'm not at home right now but IIRC there's a US address on the box, so I assume it was also a US release.  I also bought mine from the US and so did another collector, so that supports that assumption.  There's another joystick  for the NES out there made by the same company as the Challenger one.  I've only seen a loose one in someone's collection (it is square but has same colors as the Challenger), so I don't have anymore info on that one..but it's a good idea to keep an eye out for it ;)

Nice controllers..I don't think I've ever seen that Videoline Red Blaster before (unless it has MK-2100/MK-2101as it's product #)...the QJ Ni-5 is also a nice joystick, but extremely common here in Europe, seems like there's loads of new old stock available of that one.  There are also at least 4-5 different variations of that one, some only box, some with a different publisher (i.e. Datalux, A-Storm AKA Acemore).

I've seen the speedboard on eBay twice, both times loose, though.  I also have a pic somewhere of a boxed one.  I've also only seen pics of the hands free controller.  Here is an article on it:

http://www.pelikonepeijoonit.net/handsfree.htm

There are also at least 3-4 of these in collectors hands.  Hopefully one will pop up again sometime on eBay, but I bet it's going to go for a lot of $$.

Yeah, I like those too, the company Saitek also made another arcade joystick called the Megastick I.  These were released throughout Europe, so that's the place to look if you want to find one ;)  The Super Cobra one is from Australia and the Cobra I is likely from the UK but not 100% sure on that.

QuickJoy/STD Electronic NiProPad...two variants...they each have different colored buttons (left one light purple, right one greyish color).  May be due to discoloration, but I doubt it as the buttons' color is completely different, not just discolored on the surface.

Cool, I have no idea if it was sold separately in the greyish box, I assumed it was, but if it came like that inside the Power Set then I may be mistaken...I never knew that it came packaged like that in that set, thanks for the info!

Beeshu Ultimate Superstick...two variants, both have different sticks, one with black base, other with metallic base...one of the knobs on the stick is also larger than the other.  It seems as though Beeshu revised their accessories multiple times, as there are even more variants of this stick out there.

Yup, sure is :)  I also think that the black/yellow version looks the nicest :)  In total there were 5 colors released...and possibly 10 variants in total if each color also has the two different types as I mentioned in that previous post with the Beeshu Zinger.  Going to be a real pain for me to try and get them all as it's already tough to find a Beeshu controller in boxed or better condition as it is ;)

You may be able to help me id some of these.  The bottom one is a standard NES-004, the top left is also a NES-004 but the colors are different, any idea if Nintendo sold these or is it a knock-off of some kind?  The top left is an unknown (by me) NES-004 clone of some kind, any clue from this photo of the make?

Top left is from a controller repair kit...there are a couple different ones that were released back in the day, not sure which used those colors. ..if I find out which I'll let you know.  The other one in the top right is from Doc's, which also sold cleaning kits and controller repair kits. :)

EDIT:   I just double checked and the top right controller is actually from High Frequency and not Doc's.  They are both identical, except the High Frequency controller has the cord on the back, whereas the Doc's controller has the cord on the side.  :)

I don't think so, because on the ads you can see that the Hot Stuff actually has a different design than the Zinger (I take it this is the one you meant instead of Zipper ;)).  My black and yellow joystick also has "Zinger" engraved on the back ;)  Also, I have seen all the wild Beeshu colors for the Zinger...Beeshu released both the Zinger and Zipper with wild color schemes, and possibly the Hot Stuff if it was ever really released.

Nope, I also didn't win it.  I do have one in my collection though, but it is a little damaged and IIRC it didn't seem to work when I tested it last time.  ...lol, I just tested it again and it works fine, no clue how to save the programs though, but it actually works...now I'm glad I didn't win that one on eBay :) Here is a quick picture of mine for those that don't know what controller we're talking about.  As you can see in the pic, mine has a little piece chipped off above the A button.

Its OK its really light and has no suction cups so its moves a bit. It's pretty much a "put in your lap" joy.

Ahh the hands free is a pain in the ass. It really is tough to use. I guess if you practice using it (like i have) then u can get kinda good with it.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  I also mainly focus on stuff that plugs into the controller port, but I know that once I have all of those I will move on to the cleaners and storage cases so I always keep an eye out for them, especially when it's something I see for the first time (like the German cleaning kit or the Arcade Video Game Control Centre).  My goal is to basically have anything and everything that was marketed to be used with the NES...this includes AC adapters, RF units, etc...but I'm saving most of those for last ;)

licensed/unlicensed,
auto fire msg on cardboard/no auto fire msg,
and mine has the QS Auto-Fire instruction sheet inside the packaging, and yours doesn't seem to have that.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Wico also made a square version of the Command Control joystick for the NES.

Yeah, I've seen this one a couple of times on the Australian eBay, usually missing some of the hookups.  I'm definitely hoping to add this one to my collection sooner or later, just waiting for a cheap deal since the shipping alone is pretty expensive.  How did you get ahold of yours?

It's one of our top priorities on our to-do list to add hardware to the database, so it shouldn't be too long before this stuff gets added (edit: hopefully ;)).

I disagree...if you keep a good eye out you'll find a boxed one sooner or later....and if you buy all controllers even without a box, you will never know whether it was sold separately or together with pirated hardware (NES clone etc)...which is why I only purchase accessories with boxes, unless I know 100% that it was sold separately and is extremely tough to find (i.e. I don't mind picking up a loose Hands Free controller or something like that) :)

There are so many pirated Fami/NES clones out there that I find it pointless to get controllers that may have been packaged with those...

Ever since I started collecting again last May, I've seen at least three of them in boxed condition on eBay, as well as two or three loose ones....they're really not all that tough to find, just gotta have some patience ;)

Title: Re: nes accesories
Post by: Gundam_Pilot_ on January 21, 2006, 08:17:59 PM
yah but u think about it. It could be a controller u could or could not find but you still have it in your hands. If you stumble across a boxed one then sell the loose one and keep the box

I got that one from Europe, only time I've come across it.  At first I thought it may have been a Talent controller for NES instead of Famicom, but it's obviously just a Talent box that they used with a couple GBC stickers.

Even today I still keep finding new joysticks once in a while ;)  I found a couple other new joysticks recently that I'll post pics of once they arrive (Quickfire QF-7 & a boxed set of two SNES-lookalike controllers).

Heheh, thanks, a lot of times I just get lucky, though ;)  I basically just set up a daily routine checking a few eBay categories and I use eBay's "favorite searches" function to send me e-mails for a bunch of controllers.

I also saw the gamesounds and the UFO controller auctions.  Didn't bid on the GameSounds because the price was too high for me, but the UFO one I feel like I should've bid on...I was convinced the price was going to shoot up at the end, which it didn't...and shipping to Belgium was possible for 10$, which is pretty cheap for a controller ;)

I've got it from a friend - but I think they were used for rental only here in Norway (and Scandinavia?) - there's also (almost) the same bag for the console (same goes for the SNES).

I saw that auction, too...I think it's just a PC joystick (check the two adjustment wheels, those are usually present on PC joysticks), happens quite a bit that a seller thinks it's for the NES.  He claims the two joysticks have WICO on the bottom, but there is no way that that QuickShot controller is from Wico, so that already shows that he didn't exactly double check as far as I'm concerned.  I'll ask the guy if he could take a pic of the connector of the top right joystick, but I bet it's just for PC ;)

Edit: At closer inspection I don't see a QuickShot logo engraved on the left side of the top left controller...but it could just be the lighting.  Otherwise it may also be from Archer (from Radio Shack) as they also released the same controller under their brand for NES.
