Title: $15 Xbox
Post by: CatchFiveBats on August 15, 2005, 10:13:06 AM
Well...today I am getting an Xbox for $15.  The only thing that's wrong with it is the eject button is busted, but that's not really a problem.  Because the eject button is always pressed down, if you turn the power on, the disc tray opens, so all you have to do is put in a game and push it closed and you're ready to play. The only other problem is the fact that it doesn't have an RF adapter or composite cables...but that's no big deal. So I'm basically getting a fully functional Xbox for $15.  Wahoo!

Excellent score! And if you do get tired of the defective eject button, you could easily get that fixed and still be way ahead.

Indeed!  Actually, I just got ahold of it and the guy ended up getting me AV cables, so I'm good to go.  Now I just need to buy Morrowind and Metal Slug 3...

Well...I just got Morrowind and Metal Slug 3 for it...and I put in Metal Slug 3 and played it for a while...and the Xbox reset and the disc tray popped out...so I'm going to have to get it fixed.  Where would I get that done?

Loacal shop should be able to fix it for a few bucks.

I have a instruction manual for how to make some Xbox fixes i will go thru it tonight/tomorrow to see if it has anything that might be of help.

Well...it turns out the Xbox I bought was totally screwed...so I bought another one from a different friend for $80 with 2 controllers, and it's in perfect working order.  Still not a bad deal, IMO.

So you paid 15 bucks for a totally screwed xbox and still think it's not a bad deal?

At least you can keep the 15 dollar Xbox around for parts  ;)

Well worth it IMO.

Well...I would do that, but I gave the busted Xbox back to the guy I got it from and got my money back to go toward the one I spent $80 on.
