It's been a while, but I'm back.  I finally moved and replaced my old TV with a newer TV.  Four HDMI ports on the side and one AV hook up in the back.  It's Vizio.  Wall mounted.  I'm assuming it's at least HD based due to the HDMI cabled, but I could be wrong.

Either way, and if I need to provide picture of the TV I'll have a friend email it to me, I'm having an odd graphical issue.  You know how sometimes when you hook a Genesis up there's lines of snow on the screen while it's turned on?

Well imagine that BUT, combine it with the following the problem: The color on the TV keeps switching between color and black and white every two seconds.  What's going on and how do I fix it? :/

Most newer TVs are becoming incompatible with older resolutions. Assuming you’re hooking it up via composite, you could get a composite to HDMI adapter. There are also higher end solutions (upscalers like the framemeister)

I was going to say the TV might not like the 240p signal coming from the Genesis. It's also possible there's a loose pin on the A/V connector in the back of the Genesis, so you might double-check to make sure all the pins are firm in the connector.

@MetalFRO Well, I don't think any of the pins are loose but I can double check

@Fleabitten I was actually planning on doing that for my Super Nintendo so that I can have room in the back for my Genesis AV cable.  Though, in all honesty, I might do it for the Genesis instead.  My Super Nintendo is showing no problems whatsoever.

Might be like Fleabitten said, it sounds like the TV doesn't like the what the Genesis is outputting. I got the exact same result with NTSC PS1 games on my PAL TV way back in the day.

The Genesis composite video is notoriously bad and can produce black and white results.
