Title: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 08, 2017, 09:32:21 AM WELCOME to our March 2017 playthrough of Diablo. Please share any and all of your thoughts on the game now or throughout the month. Since there is really nothing to spoil (but perhaps just avoid talking about the ending of the story) feel free to discuss all aspects of the game. I would really love to hear everyone's history with the game as well. Due to the nature of the game, there will be no checkpoints and participants should play at their own pace. In terms of hardware, Diablo is available on PC and PS1 only. I know that PC was once available through online multiplayer, but I think Battle.Net for the first game has been disabled. Please let us know in the forums below if there is any way to play this in multiplayer and perhaps we can get a group or two going a few nights during the month. Thanks for participating! singlebanana PARTICIPANTS: Addicted BuriedonMars Crabmaster2000 Disposed Hero douglie007 Fleach GrayGhost81 NeoMagicWarrior noiseredux Pam ReddMcKnight russlyman singlebanana wildbil52 CHECKPOINTS: ** Since the story in this game is light and really can't be spoiled, I am suggesting the participants play at their own pace this month and discussion should not be limited to checkpoints. However, I am adding the following weekly checkpoints in case participants want to have a means to monitor their progress. Hellfire players will of course have 8 more levels** WEEK 1: Finish levels 1-4 (Cathedral) WEEK 2: Finish levels 5-8 (Catacombs) WEEK 3: Finish levels 9-12 (Caves) WEEK 4: Finish levels 13-16 (Hell) ACHIEVEMENTS: **Diablo is unique in that available quests can change from game to game. If anyone has any ideas for achievements for this game that are available across classes and overall availability, please let me know.** 1. Find Wirt the pegleg boy. 2. Enter the Catacombs. 3. Complete The Chamber of Bone. 4. Enter the Caves. 5. Enter Hell. 6. Finish two of three quests: The Butcher, The Poisoned Water Supply or The Curse of King Leoric 7. Finish either quest: Gharbad the Weak or Ogden's Sign 8. Finish two of three quests: The Magic Rock, Valor, or Halls of the Blind 9. Finish two of three quests: Zhar the Mad, Black Mushroom, or Anvil of Fury 10. Finish either quest: Lachdanan or Warlord of Blood 11. Destroy Archbishop Lazarus. 12. Defeat Diablo. Post by: Disposed Hero on February 10, 2017, 09:59:44 AM Awesome, I've played through both Diablo II and III but have only dabbled with the original back on the PS1 when I was a kid. I think I'm going to try to get this working on PC and give it a proper playthrough in March! :)
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 10, 2017, 10:36:45 AM Game announcement is up. GET PUMPED!
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - ?? Post by: Pam on February 10, 2017, 10:37:13 AM I was about to get excited that you had picked a PC game... but this isn't available anywhere for PC (and making old computers work isn't my jam).
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 10, 2017, 10:44:14 AM I was about to get excited that you had picked a PC game... but this isn't available anywhere for PC (and making old computers work isn't my jam). I'm sure there are ways out there to make this game playable on modern PCs without having to make "old computers work." Ha ha! Did a simple search and it looks like Blizzard is really supportive in helping people play their old games. http://www.play-old-pc-games.com/2016/02/24/diablo/ Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Pam on February 10, 2017, 10:45:58 AM I meant I wanted a digital download from something like Steam or Gog (or Blizzard themselves... I wonder why D2 is available but not D1)
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Addicted on February 10, 2017, 10:59:29 AM Count me in. I have to see what way will work for me... and stop playing Hellfire.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: ReddMcKnight on February 10, 2017, 12:13:27 PM I'm in the same boat as Pam. This game is impossible to find digitally, and some PCs (like mine) don't even have a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray Drive...Not that I can find the disc either. :P
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: wildbil52 on February 10, 2017, 01:55:16 PM I'm gonna do it. I have the game on PC with Hellfire. No excuses.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Addicted on February 10, 2017, 02:03:09 PM If Hellfire is allowed I'll install it as well.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: ReddMcKnight on February 10, 2017, 02:15:00 PM Update! I found a CD online and bought it! I also bought a USB CD Drive! That said, I will gladly join this playthrough! Count me in!
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 10, 2017, 02:27:35 PM If Hellfire is allowed I'll install it as well. Of course! As always, play it any way you like. 😁 Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: noiseredux on February 10, 2017, 03:00:35 PM I somehow missed this was happening. But I do have the original PC game still. And there is a patch that makes it play nice on modern PC's.

Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Addicted on February 10, 2017, 09:39:58 PM I was able to get the game working in Windows 10 X64 by doing the following:
1. Update Diablo to the latest version: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/200684 2. Install this patch so I could change the resolution: http://www.strangebytes.com/index.php/projects/1-diablo-1-windows-7-vista-patch I was able to play both Diablo and Hellfire using the above method. The HD mod http://diablo1.ovh.org/hd/ doesn't seem right for me as I see characters (Necromancer) in it that aren't in Diablo or Hellfire. Title: Re: Post by: douglie007 on February 11, 2017, 12:13:06 PM I'm in also, I will be doing the ps1 version

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk Yes, I think that the consensus is that since the game was designed for PC, it has better controls via mouse and keyboard. Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 15, 2017, 03:44:39 PM I'm really digging the motivation to play and positive vibe that I'm getting from this pick. Should be a great month!
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: ReddMcKnight on February 15, 2017, 04:53:46 PM Do we start playing on the 1st? I've only participated in one of these, so I forgot.

Yep, March 1st Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: ReddMcKnight on February 15, 2017, 06:15:44 PM Alrighty. Nothing better than a good RPG to start the Month with. :)
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: NeoMagicWarrior on February 21, 2017, 05:05:30 PM I think I'ma try and jump in on this one. Only ever played bits/pieces of it before. Also, gonna try and struggle through the PS1 version, as I can emulate it on a psp pretty nicely.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 23, 2017, 08:41:40 PM Alright, let's hear everyone's history with this game.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Pam on February 24, 2017, 12:46:52 PM I have no history with this game, I've only played the newest Diablo. I was always a big CRPG fan, but Diablo looked more loot-grindy than story, character, or decision-based, so I never tried 1 or 2.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Addicted on February 24, 2017, 01:56:06 PM I bought it around release. I played it with my friends for months but never finished it. I don't know what happened to my original copy but I bought my current copy from a guy who was downsizing his PC collection. I ended up with a CIB copy and Hellfire for $5.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Disposed Hero on February 24, 2017, 02:02:46 PM I owned the original Diablo on PS1 back in the day, but I was a huge wuss as a kid and the game scared me too much for me to make it very far. I've played both of the sequels since and enjoyed them, so I'm excited to check out the first game in the series.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Addicted on February 24, 2017, 02:06:29 PM Well if Disposed Hero is making a confession I will to...
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 24, 2017, 02:13:49 PM I have very vivid memories of this game and playing it in my dorm room my Junior year of college. I was still not an owner of my first PC yet. I shared a PC that belonged to my roommate and he had the game right after release. Being a console gamer, I was decent, but really didn't grasp the concept well, and thus, never made it past The Butcher... My goal is to kick this game's ass next month.
What class are you guys playing as? Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Disposed Hero on February 24, 2017, 03:44:18 PM I'm playing as a Warrior. I started as a Sorcerer, but got destroyed by the first group of enemies I came into contact with, so I decided to try a sturdier class. I'll probably try the Sorcerer again after I finish the game as the Warrior.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: GrayGhost81 on February 25, 2017, 10:03:31 AM I played Diablo III vanilla version on PS3 last year. I loved it, but promptly mailed it to Singlebanana as I figured if it deserved a place in my physical collection, I could grab the souped up PS4 version some time in the future for a replay.
I haven't started Diablo yet, but I'll be playing the PS1 version as the female protag; the rogue. Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 25, 2017, 11:16:49 AM I haven't started Diablo yet, but I'll be playing the PS1 version as the female protag; the rogue. I never owned it so I had to play a friends house. This game has possibly my favorite atmosphere of any video game. The general creepy disgusting scary vibe I get when playing it is second to none. And the first time you encounter enemies like The Butcher or the Succubi is so freaking awesome. I remember playing through it as the Warrior and the Wizard, but I think I snubbed the Rogue. Gonna join in and try a Rogue run for March :)
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on February 27, 2017, 11:03:02 AM Hey guys and gals, the Diablo playthrough is right around the corner. I have posted checkpoints for the 4 weeks, which are basically based on the four areas of the original game (this will differ for those playing Hellfire). Because this game will require participants to play at their own pace and since the story really isn't deep or spoilable (except for maybe the ending), I'm not putting a muzzle on game discussion, so feel free to discuss all you want.
Also, I'm looking for some achievements for the main post if anyone has anything they would like to add. One thing pretty unique to Diablo is that quests can not only differ by class, but can also switch up with every new game. This makes achievements a little tougher to pin down. However, I know that The Butcher is always available and I am adding it as an achievement. If any of you more seasoned players know of any others that show up across the board, please let me know and I will add it to the initial post. I have to admit that the first time I played the game 20 years ago, I was very green to this style and became very frustrated. This time around, I'm having a much better time because I am approaching the game much differently. In the next day or two, I'll be adding some tips under a spoiler tag in the main post, so you can check them out if you want. I'll also add anything that some of you would deem helpful to other participants. Thanks, and let's have some fun! Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: NeoMagicWarrior on February 28, 2017, 05:41:30 PM I cheated and started early...but you can watch some of my play through here:

Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Crabmaster2000 on March 01, 2017, 09:14:24 AM Made my way down to Level 7 last night and character is up to 15. Decided to try the Rogue out and stick solely to ranged weapons. Because of that I've put every stat so far into Dexterity and Strength, completely ignoring Magic and Vitality. This build has yet to disappoint. She is fast, doesn't miss and does enough damage that nothing gets remotely close to me. Feels kinda cheaty so far. I'm sure some of the bosses will prove to be a pain in the ass with my dangerously low vitality though. My item drops have been so crappy so far. I keep getting "Unique" drops and get super excited and then when I take them back to town to get identified they are typically "of the night", "of the fool" or "of pain" and have terrible effects that hurt my character and sell for a whopping 1 gold!
ACHIEVEMENTS: **Diablo is unique in that available quests can change from game to game. If anyone has any ideas for achievements for this game that are available across classes and overall availability, please let me know.** 1. 2. 3. Complete The Chamber of Bone. 4. Enter the Caves. 5. Enter Hell. 6. Finish two of three quests: The Butcher, The Poisoned Water Supply or 7. Finish either quest: Gharbad the Weak or 8. Finish two of three quests: 9. Finish two of three quests: Zhar the Mad, Black Mushroom, or Anvil of Fury 10. Finish either quest: Lachdanan or Warlord of Blood 11. Destroy Archbishop Lazarus. 12. Defeat Diablo. Be sure to get all of your items identified by the elder in town before selling them. Having them identified will earn you much more gold.
Well, today's the day! Happy demon slaying to all! Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Addicted on March 01, 2017, 09:35:49 AM The movement speed in the original game is too slow. I'm glad they sped it up for Hellfire.

I'm glad they sped it up for Hellfire. Achievements finished: I feel slow when I'm in town. When I'm in the dungeon it feels appropriate though. Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Crabmaster2000 on March 02, 2017, 09:42:34 AM Worked my way down to the final floor prior to Diablo last night. This Rogue build is crazy overpowered. Even against some of the bosses it's been a breeze just playing hit and run. I've not had a single amulet drop the entire game. Finally broke down and purchased one from good ole' Griswald. Tried to go back and clean up some of the quest in my log that I missed, but my game froze in the loading screen. Sucky.
I don't know if it's as bad on the PC side, but the time it takes to save a game is stupid long on the PS version of the game. Here's what I'm looking like prior to taking on the Big Bad: (https://flic.kr/p/RiPgqL) 1. 2. 3. Finish two of three quests: Zhar the Mad, Black Mushroom, or 10. 11. 12. Defeat Diablo. What's up with this? When I was searching for the Golden Elixir on Level 15 I found a spot that "Down to Level 16" appears, yet there are no stairs in site (and 16 isn't a thing I don't think). I goofed around there for a while, but couldn't make anything happen. Anyone know anything about it? As far as the level 16 stairs, that's odd and not a part of the PC game. I know that in the PC game, you have to go back to town and talk to the elder (Cain?...poor man's Sean Connery) again after the Lazarus battle to open the pentagram gateway to Diablo. BTW, I found that Golden Elixir first the other day and swapped it with my own urine. Drink up. You're welcome. It comes very early in the game when you enter the cathedral for the first time. The dying guy gives it to you. However, each playthrough has the possibility that you won't get that quest, since you get 2 out of 3 quests for levels 1-4. You are missing out on one of the best "s@#t your pants" scares in video game history. I got terrible luck and didn't get The Butcher quest in my game :( Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Crabmaster2000 on March 03, 2017, 08:55:26 AM Finished off the Big Boy and a few more quests last night. Diablo was far too easy for a final boss. I only used one single potion! So since that was too easy I decided to dive into Nightmare and look for more of a challenge. Already down to Level 10 on Nightmare. Been getting lucky and opened up several quests that I didn't get for my first playthrough. Mostly still not too challenging with my Rogue and can just hit and run my way through each stage without being too careful. There was a hilarious moment where I ran around a corner though and literally 30 arrows all hit my at the same time. Didn't have time to react and heal or run. Just turned the corner and dropped like a sack of hammers. Was too funny, but also sunk in the point that I need to spend a few stat points into Vitality.

Just not sure where to go to find the source..Cain says there is a tunnel somewhere but I haven't found it. On to Level 2 tomorrow night. You will find it pretty easily down in the labyrinth. I think it is level two or three. Just a heads up, just finding the source does not complete the quest. You will need to clear that entire area. Good luck! Speaking of quests, I find that none of them are very difficult in terms of figuring out what to do and that you eventually run into your objective as long as you keep clearing levels. I'm curious Crabby, what was your favorite section of the game? I enjoyed the Caves the most. I really liked the atmosphere and enemies there the best. The larger sprites and the inability to hide in rooms made it rather fun and challenging. Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on March 03, 2017, 03:08:37 PM You get either the Poisoned Water Supply or Skeleton King quests for Level 2 for all games, I believe. It's been a while, but I rarely got the Skeleton King quest, and didn't figure out the Poisoned Water Supply quest for a while.
You're not the only one Addicted. I did that a lot because it took forever to sell. They actually addressed that in Diablo 2, I believe, by allowing you to lock certain items and sell the rest. Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: GrayGhost81 on March 05, 2017, 08:56:29 PM So I'm not doing two things I set out to do: play the game on the PS1 and play as the rogue.
I tried hard to get the game running on my PC, then gave up and started playing the PS1 version. It is actually very playable but the fact that you could go to the kitchen and make a sandwich while the game saves is a deal breaker. So I tried harder to get it running on the PC and with a little push and pull (and one of addicted's fixes) I'm off to the races. Finally, I am having a good time with this game. Lo and behold I got the butcher as my first quest again and even though I know the projectile through the bars trick I'm taking Rich's advice and killing every damned thing that moves in that entire dungeon to level up. I also switched to the warrior as I was already kind of annoyed with how long it has taken me to get up and running so I wanted to go the easiest route. I can see myself powering through this game on weekday mornings with my coffee. I am so glad I got it working on my computer. Title: Re: Post by: douglie007 on March 05, 2017, 09:07:46 PM So was playing with my friend as a 2p game, and it wouldn't let me boot him, so I saves my lvl 5 warrior and started a new game... the dying guy by the church was not there, but I got the well quest. Any reason to restart and do the butcher quest?

He is probably the most memorable character in the game to early, first time players, since many of them probably had to change their underwear after opening his door.

The larger sprites and the inability to hide in rooms made it rather fun and challenging. Interesting. The Caves was easily my least favorite area. I love the Cathedral section the most. Gets me really nostalgic for Hero's Quest. That type of setting is typically my fav in these games. The dungeon you fight Andarial in Diablo II feels very similar and I love it. Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on March 07, 2017, 11:12:37 AM I guess for me, the Caves felt the most different in terms of terrain and lack of walls. Also liked the bigger demon sprites.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Addicted on March 07, 2017, 11:25:05 AM I'm with Crabby. I liked the Cathedral section. It made me feel like I was entering a foreboding place. I played a lot of the Ultima and Gold Box games as a kid so maybe this is why.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on March 07, 2017, 11:26:47 AM I loved the Cathedral as well. Then again, I felt like anything past it was kinda uninspired and there weren't really any quests or anything to do besides just find the next exit. Everything felt very front-loaded.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on March 07, 2017, 11:27:53 AM Also, how about the music in this game? 20 years old and it still gives me chills.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Crabmaster2000 on March 07, 2017, 12:50:15 PM Totally. Really helps drive home the atmosphere. I even feel uncomfortable in Tristram cause of the eerie tunes.

Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Disposed Hero on March 07, 2017, 12:54:24 PM I'm having trouble remembering all of the music, but I love the acoustic guitar in the town theme. A lot of the dungeon music was cool too, and I have to agree about the atmosphere. The music during the Hell levels reminds me of music from Super Metroid.
Anyway, I finished the game last night. I'm pretty sure I completed all of the achievements except for number 6. Diablo himself ended up being a total pushover once I lured him away from all the other enemies and fought him one-on-one. Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: GrayGhost81 on March 07, 2017, 09:04:34 PM I feel like I've gotten over that hump in western RPGs where the game stops being terribly difficult and becomes almost too easy. I do have a pretty nice loadout with stat buffs all over the place. I've gone through floor 6 and 7 and the bone chamber with hardly a scratch and I'm one-shotting pretty much everything. I actually love when games reward the player for pushing through a tough beginning and I've gone from being scared and saving constantly, to having some comfort and saving only after a room or two is cleared. The ground of the town is a museum of all my loot. You know you're doing okay when you're dropping 5000 gold piles everywhere.
I told Rich last week that the game felt like work, but not necessarily in a bad way. Now I feel like I am completely having fun. Killing every single last enemy doesn't feel like a means of survival anymore. I'm a big fan of the "funnel all the enemies through a doorway" strategy. Is this a flaw of the game's design or a feature? I do love the music. Can't say much that hasn't already been said. It's just haunting and perfect. Killing every single last enemy doesn't feel like a means of survival anymore. I'm a big fan of the "funnel all the enemies through a doorway" strategy. Is this a flaw of the game's design or a feature? Yeah, I think that the game does have a tougher beginning and that when you settle in, it gets easier. However, there are some moments where it gets a little hairy and your life bar starts to plummet quick. I had some issues with a large group of Acid Beasts in one of the dungeons. I kept getting surrounded and when I would kill them, I would accidentally move my toon into a pool of the acid they leave behind. These pools do heavy damage and it was only magnified by being surrounded and hit by other ranged attacks. I hate how ranged attackers run in this game. I'm really glad you are having fun with this one. I always get concerned when I pick a retro title. Ha ha! Yes, I think that the doorway strategy isn't a flaw in the game's design, but one implemented on purpose. I feel this way because you have the option of pulling some enemies into a room and closing the door to shut off others. I can't recall, but can some enemies actually open doors after they see you do it? Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: Disposed Hero on March 08, 2017, 01:39:07 PM I can't recall, but can some enemies actually open doors after they see you do it? Some of the enemies can open doors. I specifically remember the Succubus-type enemies on the lower levels opening doors. I started the game over again with the Rogue, and after clearing the first floor, the game seems easier with the Rogue than the Warrior. I'm ready to get my revenge on all of those annoying ranged enemies who constantly run away! Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: wildbil52 on March 08, 2017, 04:02:41 PM OK, so I finished level 2 last night and it was noticeably harder than level 1. It was easy to get overwhelmed if you don't watch your positioning and I found my first bow and I was trying to pick things off at a distance, but my dude it blind and misses 4/5 shots at least. Found the crack in the wall in level 2 but I am not strong enough for that area yet. I got down to level 3 and cleared just that one little entrance area. Finally have the book of healing so I don't have to rely on just potions. It really picks up after level 1. Music and atmosphere are insanely good. Being a first timer, im never sure if I should use the scroll to retun to town or save that. Or if I should go back to town as soon as my inventory is full or just drop useless stuff. I'm still learning but I'm enjoying it more than the first hour I sat down with it.

I assume people already know this but if you hold down the shift key while firing with the Rogue and wizard your character will remain stationary and not accidentally move around the level. However you bring up a good point and I think the game would at least make more sense if there was some sort of town storage center, like your residence or a bank. I actually didn't know that but it is also helpful as the warrior because when you're standing in the doorway, you want to block the path of the baddies so they don't come flooding in on you. If you're in a clicking frenzy it can be easy for your character to move when you didn't want him to. This is a big help. In the past two days I've done floors 11-14 and damn they're getting a little tedious. It's not even particularly difficult, there are just so many waves of enemies, and not many doorways to funnel them through, so it's basically hack away while spamming healing items then go and restock said healing items, rinse and repeat. I definitely don't have a suggestion for how they could've done anything differently, especially at the time, but it's getting annoying! Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on March 10, 2017, 09:44:04 AM I tend to agree with you here Shawn in terms of playing the warrior. Seems like I was always porting back and forth to town buying tons of health pots or dropping off a full inventory. Levels seem as if you start to peck away at them instead of playing through them all at one time. I think this may be better with ranged classes that take less melee damage. With areas so open in the Caves, there are less corners, but I still managed to drag partial mobs way back and only have to take on a few at a time. Same can be said for Hell.
Best of luck to finishing up and oh yeah, be sure to draw to Diablo from the adds that protect him. If not, you'll go down quick. Title: Re: Post by: douglie007 on March 11, 2017, 06:45:15 AM It seems that if you get a quest, it will be on the next floor, is there at anytime that the quest will be 2 floors down from when you get it? Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: singlebanana on March 11, 2017, 07:20:41 AM Also, I want to mention that the Halls of the Blind quest can be a little tricky. Reading from a book opens up an area on the same floor. You will know the area by these bright yellowish green enemies around it. The way to complete the quest is to pick up the amulet one of them drops. It's kind of small and can be a little hard to locate at times but is within one of the two very small rooms.
Title: Re: March 2017 Playthrough - Diablo Post by: GrayGhost81 on March 11, 2017, 10:13:07 AM Slogging my way through floor 14 and 15 and much unlike the bulk of the game to this point, this is the height of boredom and tedium. This is the first time in the game I don't care about killing everything. I'm just saying please let me find the f*cking stairs to end this ridiculousness. The hell section of this game truly lives up to its name.

I usually like to play the vanilla version of a game the first time I play it so I can experience what everyone else did. But this game was really dark and it was hard for this old man to see anything. Plus, I couldn't pass up the bonus of having your character move faster in town.
Here's a video of someone playing it if you want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmBzxXoQ1ZE Anyway, it was really fun and easy to install.
