Seriously though, you've kicked my ass in the regular season numerous times since we've been doing this. 2-1 against you in the postseason though. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: blcklblskt on August 19, 2016, 07:02:40 AM I'm in!

Also, just noticed that we now have an odd number. If you have signed up with a new address and need your old team removed, please let me know. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on August 19, 2016, 04:33:31 PM Whomever owns "James's Team"

Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: theGrue on August 30, 2016, 10:07:23 PM I rejoined automatically as Splat Squad. I'm on the fence, I never seem to do well in this league, but I've got another league on Yahoo already so it's not too tough to stay in, but if you guys need to free up a spot, I could drop out.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: blcklblskt on September 03, 2016, 04:33:18 PM Any idea when the draft is going to be?

Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: bickman2k on September 06, 2016, 03:51:29 PM Was trying to figure out who was the odd person out.
@RobotWillie, right now we have an even number of teams, so unless we can find one more person, we might not be able to have you in this year. Draft is tomorrow at 7pm. Live draft. If we get the roster finalized before then, we can move it around. Sorry for the late timing on everything. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: nupoile on September 11, 2016, 08:31:48 PM ^^^ Mine too! That's weird :P
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: RobotWillie on September 11, 2016, 10:48:34 PM ;D :)
Whats funny is my dads favorite team growing up was Dolphins since Seattle didn't have a team yet. But he switched over when they got a team, but he still considers the Dolphins his #2. His older brother is a Chiefs fan. But he too considers the Seahawks his #2 and roots for them anytime its not against KC, which is only every 4 years anyway (whos kidding? whos expecting the other possibility of a KC-SEA SB :D). He just didn't switch like my dad 100%. I guess it could be because he is several years older and had grown up even more with the Chiefs than my dad did with the Dolphins. Of course even here in Washington we have to deal with the ever present Steeler and Patriot,49er and Raider fans (and I guess Packer). :yuck: Still, the vast majority like Seattle who are FB fans here in WA. To be fair most of the 49er fans I know around here did move here from the Bay Area so. And the Raiders fans are mostly Latinos. Its not racist if its been noticed to be true. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on September 11, 2016, 11:12:06 PM True story:
I was going to buy a 1-story house, but our neighbor was a die-hard Raiders fan. Instead, we got a bigger 2-story house. Mind you, the house was $60k more for 2x the space, but I still maintain that the selling point was that I wasn't living next to a Raiders fan. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: nupoile on September 12, 2016, 08:41:25 PM Raiders and Seahawks used to be "cross-town" rivals back before they switched up the divisions. So, if you live around here, even if they aren't the same conference anymore, Raiders fans and 'hawk fans still have a special rivalry.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: bickman2k on September 14, 2016, 10:36:44 PM Raiders and Seahawks used to be "cross-town" rivals back before they switched up the divisions. So, if you live around here, even if they aren't the same conference anymore, Raiders fans and 'hawk fans still have a special rivalry. I still remember the Seahawks being in the AFC West. My game went more like the Chiefs game this weekend. Behind for most of it, but then coming through at the last second. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: blcklblskt on September 15, 2016, 04:52:53 PM Raiders and Seahawks used to be "cross-town" rivals back before they switched up the divisions. My game went more like the Chiefs game this weekend. Behind for most of it, but then coming through at the last second. A good analogy. I feel like my seasons always mirror the Chargers: often full of hope and promise, but decimated by injury, second-guessing and bad play-calling. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on September 20, 2016, 09:08:25 AM Like most years, I start out 0-2.
9th out of 12 in the League, 3rd highest Points For, and highest Points Against. I've been beaten by the top 2 scoring teams so far this year. ::) RFGen Fantasy Football never disappoints. Now, for the inevitable Top 10 WR/RB injuries around Week 5. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: monkees19 on October 10, 2016, 10:29:41 PM Well, with this week's win, I am firmly planted on top (via points) right where I belong. Title defense lookin pretty easy at the moment. HA!
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on October 11, 2016, 09:47:10 AM 5th in Points For, after dropping from 3rd last week.
Position? Last. Points Against? First. Yeah, that's RFGeneration Fantasy Football for me. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: blcklblskt on October 11, 2016, 04:58:24 PM Well, with this week's win, I am firmly planted on top (via points) right where I belong. Title defense lookin pretty easy at the moment. HA! Greg Olsen is a jerk :( Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Sirgin on October 15, 2016, 01:28:54 PM 2-3 now. Have to stay on this streak, but this week's matchup will be tough...
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on October 16, 2016, 05:01:19 PM I'll say. 3 people on my team scored 30+ points this week. Good luck!
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: RobotWillie on October 23, 2016, 11:26:44 PM Well, I will say the first tie in Seahawks history doesn't feel good. Feels just as bad as losing. But knowing the Cards should have won makes a tie seem great, but then I think Seattle should have won too. I had a gut feeling some weird shit was going to go down in OT. I had a weird feeling someone would miss a FG even. I never would have guessed both teams would miss the game winning FG though.
I now know what it feels like when your team ties. It feels........ gross and odd. It only feels a teeny tiny bit better than losing. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on October 25, 2016, 02:25:44 PM Somehow pulled a win out of my hat last night with C.J. Anderson scoring 16 points...
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: nupoile on October 25, 2016, 06:43:37 PM At first glance you'd almost think I knew what I was doing, being in first place by two games. Then you'd look at the total points scored against me column and see I'm way in the lead on that too. Or, I've had the easiest schedule on average.
The one game I lost, to the team in last place no less, really bummed me out. I had two players with minor injuries that I debated over every day that week but looked good to go up through that Saturday. Gametime Sunday rolls around and they were both out. I could have swapped a bench player for either and won, which would make me undefeated instead of 6-1. Haven't had the best luck with injuries though. One week I had no extra players because they were all out. A couple other weeks I've only had one or two that weren't out with bruised pinkies or hang nails or something. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: monkees19 on October 25, 2016, 10:30:26 PM I HAD to get cute and start Hoyer. All these years of fantasy and I try that!? Haha, wouldn't have mattered but of course he would get hurt in the first half.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: RobotWillie on October 30, 2016, 02:51:00 PM Well, what are the odds? The Skins and Bengals tied in the last London game of the season. Sometimes we go 2 years without one, but now there has been 2 in the last week. Just the probability gremlin going a bit psycho. But at least the soccer fans over there are used to it. A tie a day in that is almost guaranteed to happen if they are playing several games a day. I don't mind ties since they do only happen rarely. Soccer and American football are the only things I know you can tie in, I'm sure there's more. But can't in Basketball, they go to several OT's if they have to. Can't in baseball, extra innings, only extreme cases where they have deemed the game to be too long and called a tie like the all star game last decade. Can't in hockey, 5 minute OT and then a shootout until someone wins in the regular season, and in the playoffs as many 20 minute normal periods as they need.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on October 30, 2016, 10:22:39 PM That tie has other meanings behind it too...
In 19 of the last 20 elections, the winner of the last Redskins game before the election determined the winner of the election. If the Redskins won, the incumbent party would keep the White House. HOW DOES THIS WORK IN A TIE?! COALITION GOVERNMENT? Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: RobotWillie on October 31, 2016, 04:09:32 PM
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: RobotWillie on November 14, 2016, 01:33:28 AM Beating the Pats is the best feeling win so far. It's always a quality win to go to NE and beat Belicheat.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: blcklblskt on November 16, 2016, 05:58:55 PM ... I lost by .02 points.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on November 21, 2016, 01:39:51 PM .02? Damn. Looks like after this week though that you've got an RB1 after Bernard's injury, so you get a decent consolation prize after our matchup.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Sirgin on December 16, 2016, 09:24:26 PM Hey, I'm in the semi-final!
The best part is I haven't checked my team in 3 weeks... Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on December 19, 2016, 01:36:41 PM I just love the fact that I lost horribly last week, and in the consolation match my opponent and I have the highest point totals for the week.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: nupoile on December 19, 2016, 10:34:23 PM Meanwhile I'm cruising right along thanks to having about the easiest schedule possible. That's how you win at FF, just play everyone on their off weeks.
Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Sirgin on January 03, 2017, 09:21:04 PM A winner is me!!! Woohooooooooo !!! :king:

I haven't had a lot of time this season to play fantasy football, so just did the basics and hoped for the best. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: Sirgin on January 09, 2017, 05:21:44 PM Sweet !!! ;D

Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: RobotWillie on February 04, 2017, 03:15:48 AM I swear, everytime I root against the Pats they end up winning. (well I guess not, I did root for the Giants both times they won, but it seems Eli is like their only Achilles heel)
What sucks is the Seahawks beat both the Pats and Falcons in the regular season. But alas didn't win when it counted more. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: RobotWillie on February 05, 2017, 08:08:03 PM =) 21-3 ATL. Kind of like when Seattle was winning like 20-0 at halftime vs DEN. I hope this post doesn't jinx them.

And BB is one of the greatest coaches ever, maybe even the best. Maybe only after Lombardi. At least in the top 3 or 5. People hate them because they were caught cheating several times. But I can't see any conspiracy in what happened 2 Sundays ago. You can't script the Edelman catch. I don't buy into any conspiracy this time, too many perfect things had to happen that aren't even possible to rig.
So, it was good football yes. But many people including myself the Pats only got to number 5 through some cheating and bad calls in their favor suggesting the league rigged them to win a few times. Which is exactly one reason I hate the Steelers, SB40 wasone of the worst called officiating jobs of all time. That should have been the first Seattle championship. People don't hate good football, they hate cheating and WWE/WWF styled rigging. But Brady proved that he didn't need to cheat this last time so many like myself have given in to the facts. And it does feel a bit better that the Falcons had an epic collapse, it doesn't make Seattle's 1 bad playcall sting as much, it soothes it a little. Because ATL had a whole quarter and an OT period of terrible D. That to me is worse. I don't understand the people who are saying the SEA SB loss was worse. That was 15 points closer. The Pats only came back by 10. And one bad play call sealed it. Not a whole quarter plus of crappy D. So, people hate cheaters. But to me this one didn't show me any cheating. Just maybe the best clutch performance in history maybe. Perhaps in any sport. Even the Pats first SB was possible due to a rule that no longer exists, the Tuck Rule. The Raiders would likely have beat them and the Pats would have never even made it to the SB that earned them their first. So Raiders fans hate them for that too, a dumb rule that was hard to interpret. And the Pats just seem to always have luck on their side. ALL 3 of their first SB wins were by 3 points. 2 in the expiring seconds. Their 4th because of a bad play call that ended in an INT. And their 5th in an epic defensive collapse that has made the history books as the worst one ever in the post season, let alone SB, and one of the worse anytime even during the regular season. So it just seems like they may be the luckiest team of all time. They barely won all 5 of their SB's. I'd be less annoyed by them if they had blown out at the very least 1 or 2 of those teams. But they barely scrapped by all of them. But I guess maybe good football does involve luck? But 5 times? Thank god the Giants beat them both times. But I give credit, the Pats did barely lose those too. So I do give them credit for not losing badly. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: blcklblskt on February 16, 2017, 09:53:56 AM The Eagles Super Bowl only looked close in terms of score. The Patriots had their number all day. But haven't all Super Bowls been close in the past decade or so?
Regardless, I don't see any of their wins granted to them through cheating. Spygate was only illegal because of WHERE they filmed them, not BECAUSE they filmed them. I think we can all agree that the location of filming them doesn't affect their ability to beat a bad Jets team. The Tuck Rule definitely granted them that win, but again, it was in place before the season and the league could never have predicted that. And the nonsense of deflategate is way overblown as well. I don't care what air pressure is in a football. When the league is suspending players and taking away draft picks for air pressure, I think we can all agree we're taking this way too seriously. Not to mention the fact that ESPN leaked incorrect information from the start to whip up the frenzy. Not to mention how air pressure does indeed lower 1 PSI every 10 degrees in colder air (tire pressure being a prime example). Not to mention how the refs' gauges have a margin of accuracy +- of .5 psi, which something like 10 or 11 of the 12 footballs would have fallen within the prescribed limits. And so on. I don't see any of this as "cheating" but more playing the game. Is deflategate shady? Sure as shit, but I really don't care. The Seahawks have the most PED violations by far over the last several years, but have had many of their players escape penalty over technicalities. The Panthers and Vikings were caught heating up footballs on the sideline (again, changing air pressure due to temperature), but that fell by the wayside. The Steelers called the Giants out this year for a similar effect too, yet no witch hunt was undertaken. The Falcons pumped fake stadium noise in for years, and received only a slap on the wrist and a loss of a 4th round pick. The Seahawks had their own "deflategate" issue in a game against Buffalo, but that was ignored as well. Regardless, I really don't care. It's football, everyone does something a little shady. In the end, you're not going to win a Super Bowl by pumping fake crowd noise in, you still need a whole lot of talent, and a whole lot of luck. The Giants needed a great defensive line and a little bit of luck to win those two Super Bowls as well. I've literally seen articles were people tried to claim the Belichick was rigging coin tosses to go his way. Good teams win in those close games because they're well coached and have a bit of luck. I'd much rather see a close game like Super Bowl 49 (probably my favorite) than a blowout like 47. Title: Re: RF Generation Fantasy Football 2016 Post by: RobotWillie on February 16, 2017, 05:36:01 PM My response is one of your fellow Eagle fans.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HqeHB86vtE I sort of agree, I'd rather a close game. I'm glad SEA didn't get blown out. But to me its one of the two worst SB's because, hey, my team lost them both. I would think many Eagles fans would say your not a true Eagles fans for not hating the Patriots. I'm glad our Superbowl win wasn't close. The point is to prove whos the best team. We proved that by blowing out who was suppose to be the best team in many minds. The Pats....... they proved they were the best team 5 teams. But also that they were clutch. They didn't blow anyone out. I would in some cases have a blowout yes. Barely winning barely proves who the best is. For them to BARELY win all 5 proves that they are great, but also they they are damn lucky. I actually watched a documentary about the Eagles bowl the otherday and your not wrong. It was 24-14 at one point. But 3 points in the end still.... Its still barely winning. I really would rather have one blowout in their resume. Like there isn't any doubt the Buccaneers were better when they blew out the Raiders. They were clearly the best team. SB 47 was a blowout until the lights went out and the 49ers came back. Many people think that was a conspiracy, that the league wanted the 49ers to win and shutting off the lights stopped the Ravens momentum. If the 49ers would have won then a lot of shit would have hit the fan about rigging, more than it did when the Ravens won. So I don't really think in some cases its "cheating". People literally think its rigged, and I've never really believed that. The Saints got caught targeting, I don't see that as cheating. Isn't it the point of the defense to try and knock the other players out? It sort of is. The Falcons had to give up a pick. Didn't really hurt them did it. I don't really believe in the coin rigging idea. Someone said the OT one was double sided. lol Just a joke, but who know if they were being serious. I guess the bottom line is that when your as hated as the Patriots it means your winning a lot. One of the things I hate about them is their bandwagon fans. I hate seeing a dude in a Pats hat at the store here in Washington and its clear he didn't grow up in New England. Its clear it just roots for them because they always win. That isn't the teams fault. But thats actually one of the reasons people hate them, they hate their fans. Of course even the Seahawks fans have been ridiculed that they only became popular after they won too so. Actually living here I know its not true, the Seahawks have been big here my whole life. It was a big deal when they made it to SB40. People will show more enthusiasm when they win, but thats the same for any other team. And you will gain more fans outside of the target market the more you win. I just can't stand the people who don't root for the home team when thats where they are from. I am a very patriotic guy (ironic I know since I hate the Patriots). I totally expect someone from NE to be a Pats fan. But I hate people who are from Washington state and are Pats fans. I know its dumb. But its just how I feel. Like I know there are a lot of 49ers fans in my city, but they moved here from the Bay Area. My neighbors favorite team is the Cowboys, but guess what, they grew up in Dallas. I can excuse that. I see Steelers fans all the time. Another team that earned fans outside their market because they won a shit ton. And very few if any of the people I have seen are from Pittsburgh or Pennsylvania. Just one of the teams that became one of the great dynasties of all time in the 70s. But even those fans have been around a while. They might have passed it down to their kids too. But the Pats are a thing of the last 20 years. They are not as historical as the Steelers and Packers and Cowboys. This isn't a "oh my family has liked them for 40 years" in most cases. It's "oh they were just better than the home team and I always see them winning so I will have them be my favorite team". In 50 years I guess I could say that by then the Pats will be historical and their fandom will have spanned generations. But right now its a lot of "I'll just cheer for them because they are good even though I've never even been to Boston". |
