Title: Tigers comin' atcha! Post by: Sauza12 on June 28, 2004, 09:48:00 AM I don't know if anyone here saw the end of the last two Tigers games against Arizona, but man were they sweet. In the first game, Eric Munson hit a walkoff homerun to win it 7-6. In the second game the score was tied 5-5 in the bottom of the ninth. The bases were loaded and Carlos Pena came up to bat with two outs and hit a 2-2 pitch out of the park for a walk off grand slam. Oh, it was a glorious weekend for baseball in the D.

They still have some good ones now, but you usually see a new name on the lineup every week.

Post by: den68 on July 01, 2004, 06:12:21 PM well the Reds haven't sunk to the depths the Tigers have in recent years (decades). this is the first year they've had a competitive team in a LONG while. Pudge Rodriguez has been huge and Carlos Guillen is looking like a real stud. It's too much to expect after last year but I hope they can stay in the race.

It started with David Wells, and ever since then, the lone Tigers All-Star gets traded every year. The only trade that got us anything was when we traded Jeff Weaver for Carlos Pena, and that deal wasn't exactly the best.
