Title: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: A8scooter on October 17, 2015, 11:18:19 PM Need game store ideas going to be in the following areas
Virginia Orlando FL Jacksonville fl Destin fl Atlanta / Marietta ga Who can help me with go to game stores from atari to snes gaming Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: Wempster on October 18, 2015, 12:07:33 AM As far as Jacksonville goes, there were a few stores I found that were small but decent. I haven't been back in a while but they're still there.
Video Game Rescue 2415 Blanding Blvd #7 Jax Florida They have a small arcade next door with about 10 or 12 machines and I think most games were still set to a quarter to play. Games Galore I couldn't get an address to come up with this online, but its also on Blanding Blvd across the street from the Orange Park Mall. Orange Park is just south of Jax, kinda a suburb or adjoining city. Its also just south of I-295. Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: Wempster on October 18, 2015, 01:44:18 PM I295 west belt going towards i10? Yep if you're on 295 and get off at State Road 21 south it's about 3/4 mile down the road on the right. Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: Crabmaster2000 on October 18, 2015, 06:57:44 PM Ray took me to some awesome flea markets when I went to Florida. I'd go wherever he recommends
Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on October 18, 2015, 08:52:28 PM The major flea market in Sanford shut down. The one nearby had quite a few of the video game vendors close, so there's only 1 major vendor there now. Most of the retro shops in my area closed as well. There are still places, but to be honest Nick hit up a lot of the nice places in Kissimmee and East Orlando. It depends on where how far he'd like to drive in the Orlando area.
Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: A8scooter on October 19, 2015, 03:39:56 AM SK, Yep orlando for Halloween horrors then Destin area for some hidden game stores I know of then to ga for a few stores there on my way back to nj. Always in need of a good shop or 2.
Ok games galore and vid game rescue on my list if places to hit Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: singlebanana on October 19, 2015, 08:08:42 AM So, are you driving down I95 through Raleigh, NC? I might be able to recommend some stores in that area, or at least dig up a few for you.
Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on October 19, 2015, 08:42:46 AM Video Game Rescue folks are awesome.
Just as a warning, I heard some of the shops closed up in Destin, so you may want to check first before going. Kissimmee has a nice flea market and Old Town. If driving down I-4, there was a sizable store called Video Game Trader... but, it looks like he shut down both the brick-and-mortar store in Port Orange and his flea market stand after the Flea Market closed. Damn... Well, I guess I'm screwed for anything on my side of town now besides the Flea Market. :'( East Orlando has a store in Waterford that's nice, but that's out of your way. Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: A8scooter on October 19, 2015, 01:56:13 PM Gotcha

Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: singlebanana on October 19, 2015, 03:03:26 PM Gotcha Single banana yep right down the i95 to florida from Orlando up the i95 to the i10 out toward Destin fl There's a small chain called Edward McKay's that I frequent often and their prices aren't staggeringly great, but always fair in my area. I've never been to the Raleigh store before, but the two stores in the neighboring towns where I am from are great and where I get a lot of my games. Address is: 3514 Capital Boulevard, Raleigh NC I was also told that there are several Play N Trades in the Raleigh area. Again, I don't get out to Raleigh much since it is over an hour away, but you should have a decent time finding NES/SNES/Genesis and maybe even some older stuff at these places. There's a place called the Boxcar in downtown Raleigh that is a bar with an arcade and pinball machines. Again, never been there, but it looks like a good spot if you want to drop some quarters on your way through: 330 West Davie Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 If you were coming through Greensboro, I'd take you around, but doing so would get you way off course. Good luck. :D Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: A8scooter on October 20, 2015, 05:12:31 AM B, my goal is I 95 south to florida then 95 to 295 to i10 to Destin palm Springs then I 75 north to Atlanta. Then I 85 through nc to the 95. Don't know I'd that helps with going through greensboro
Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: A8scooter on October 20, 2015, 05:13:08 AM Do u know if Edwards sells anything obscure or boxes and manuals or imports at all
Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: singlebanana on October 20, 2015, 05:44:08 AM Do u know if Edwards sells anything obscure or boxes and manuals or imports at all It's a used media store, so they have video games, books, vinyl, CDs, DVDs, etc. Their stock is dictated by what people bring in. The local stores definitely have CIB NES and SNES games, so I imagine it's more of the same there. Just kind of dependent on what is brought in I'm afraid. They typically don't have a lot prior to the NES other than a handful of 2600 carts. Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: Wempster on October 20, 2015, 11:30:44 AM Might I suggest taking I75 instead up to I10 Scooter? If you are going up I-75 there is a good store in Gainesville immediately off the first exit. R.U. Game. It's been one of my favorite stores in Gainesville for a long time. Title: Re: Vacation advice for Virginia Florida and Georgia Post by: singlebanana on October 25, 2015, 05:45:13 PM If your heading down 95 in Virginia Busch Gardens is a cool amusement park and they do a great Halloween festival at night
