It's Secret Santa time again! Here is how it works:

Step 1 Reply to this thread with something like "I'm in" and I will add your name to the list

The cutoff for signing up is Friday, November 13

Step 2 Send an email to rfgensanta@gmail.com The subject line should look exactly like this:.

User Name-Your Country-Country or Countries you are willing to ship to

EXAMPLE If I am in the USA and I am willing to ship to the USA and Canada:

Wildbil52-USA-USA, Canada

Copy and paste this text for the body of your email and fill in the blanks:

Dear Santa
I’ve been a VERY ___________ boy/girl (choose one) this year, so I feel like I have earned all of the __________ that I will probably get for Christmas from all my family and friends.

But I also want video games.

If I could get just one box of video games and/or video game related items with a total combined value of at least $20 before shipping costs, I would hope that the box would have___________ in it.

And I would prefer that it didn’t have any __________ in it.

Since I am a responsible collector, my entire collection has been meticulously entered on rfgeneration.com (OR i is entered at this location: [link to your collection here]) so that you can see what I already have.  You can also check my RFGeneration wishlist to see what I really want more than anything in the whole wide __________.

Please remember to send out my domestic package by December 10th or my international package by December 1st so that I don’t receive my package late and have to resort to _________________ on Christmas morning.

A note on writing your letter

As far as your wishlist goes, Be as specific as you want or as general as you want just remember that the more options you give your Santa, the easier you will be to shop for.  Say things like:

I would like any NES carts not already in my collection

or

I would love to get some spare controllers for NES, SNES, Genesis, or Saturn.

or

I would really like to get any of the following SNES games: x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x, etc.

Add as much room as you need, you don't have to say what you would like to get in just a few words.

Step 3
Once your package arrives, or on Christmas morning, post pics of your Secret Santa package here (and in Small Scores if you like)

The MINIMUM value of the items you must send to your Secret Santa is $20. You may give more if you choose, but $20 is the minimum.  There have been issues in years past with people feeling a little short changed so if you are unsure about what you are sending, give a little more, after all, it’s Christmas!

Due to the scams of years past, The RFGen Secret Santa 2015 is available to established RFGen members OR to anyone who has an established member vouch for them.  If you are unsure if you are an established member, shoot me a PM.

Would it be wrong if you purchase something from the internet to have it shipped directly to the person whose list you got if you can't find local?

It's not wrong, it just wouldn't be very personalized.  Might be a little guessing as to what it's for if they are involved in other site gift exchanges.

shaggy, if you do that, include in your instructions that you want it posted a certain way with the label, so when it arrives it'd be like you sent it. A lot of sellers, myself included, are more than happy to do it. It may be worthwhile to contact the seller first to ensure they'll do it.

That was my feeling banana, about the personalization, but  some items on my list I'm positive I won't find local.  I figured I could probably get more for the person shipping directly if I had to come to that but hopefully I won't have to!

I have received my Santa letter. It's tricky when the collection isn't up to date, but I'll try to be creative!

My collection isn't up to date at all.  This is why, out of respect for my Secret Santa's time and sanity, I created a specific Secret Santa 2015 wishlist full of reasonably priced, can't miss gift ideas.  Maybe not a perfect solution, but a completely workable one, I feel.  With the organizational tools available here on RF Gen, why not create a purpose-built list?

Blue Stinger was a great pick - though coincidentally I picked up a copy a couple weeks ago when gathering up some holiday-themed games. Don't feel bad though, this one is in better shape so I'll be upgrading. :)

F355 Challenge I have never played - so I'm quite excited. I love racing games and it's awesome to get one on DC that I'm unfamiliar with.

And then... the big one. I LOVE Street Fighter Alpha 3 and this game alone would have been an awesome gift by itself. So the fact that it was bundled with other games was super generous. I can't really talk right now... I've got Street Fighter Alpha 3 to play!

I was expecting a package but not this package as I recognized the name as I previously bought some items from him before.  I assume this is my Secret Santa package.  Now I have a dilemma.  I can wait until Christmas but I've been trying to not purchase any NES games until that package is open... The tracking for the package I sent out says it's arrived. Someone's got games! Way faster than I expected- I sent it two days ago. I've seen packages going the same distance take a week or two during non-holiday times. Might have been the class it qualified for. Anyway, waiting on mine. Don't know if I'll be able to wait until christmas or not to open it.

Didn't recongnize the name or address this year, truley was a secret. Whoever it was though did a fantastic job! I know I'm a challenge to purchase for and they still managed to find a ton of stuff that I'm thrilled to add to my collection. I asked Santa for Atlus and PS2 games that I didn't already have and boy did he deliver. I've passes on 3 Project Edens at the store this year because they were all missing the manual, but Santa rewarded me for my patience and found me a nice CIB copy! And if you're gonna add silly games like Disney Sing It! to your collection they might as well be sealed :)

And they really hit it out of the park with the Atlus stuff. 4 Atlus games across 4 different systems! I say 4 even though the pic only has 3 because I found a copy of Kwirk in the box after I took the pic, oops! Thanks so much Santa, great job on the gift this year :)

I remember Crabmaster drooling over my copy of Battleship. Picked mine up for $3 from the flea market.
Uniracers was one of my favorite SNES games. Quirky, but somehow it's how I learned most of the skateboarding moves before Tony Hawk came out.

Uniracers is amazing! Jealous of that box too!

Tabletop is a biking term.
Flip is a generic term.
Headbounce, ZFlip, Roll are not related to skateboarding.

And then there's the NES Advantage.  I have always wanted one of these things ever since I was a kid.  I know that they aren't particularly hard to come by, but I have just never gotten my hands on one until now.  I think I spent a good few minutes just turning it around in my hands and looking at it because it felt so cool to finally have one.

I received my Secret Santa box yesterday!!

I'm going out of town for the holidays so I've opened it early to make sure I get this posted before Christmas.

My Secret Santa decided to remain a secret by not putting their name anywhere on or in the package, but when I opened it, I was so excited by what was in there!

I've never owned any Famicom or Super Famicom cartridges so this was a double win when I asked for RPGs!  I will need to read singlebanna's post about Region locking to try these out.  The amiibo were also great as it has put me only 10 away from having a complete set (from what's released so far)!  The 2600 games were also a great addition to my collection as I don't get to pick these up often.

My wife's arrived today just as I was leaving the house, and I got a PM from the SS to ensure it was there. Sneaky using initials so I wouldn't immediately recognize the name, though I recognized the city and couldn't connect the dots.

I've had problems sending out my gifts in previous years (still owe A8scooter - my wife hasn't forgotten), so I try to be upfront if anything happens. It's not nice when your box isn't there on time.

Due to the insistence of the SS, my wife opened her SS gift when we got home. We had a kitten in the mail box before we could even empty it! Couldn't snap a picture quick enough, but I'll post pics in the morning. She was very happy with her gift though. 😄

I asked for Sega shooters and got Sega shooters! Thank you Santa!

I asked Santa for any Famicom games that weren't in my collection, and he pulled through! I'm especially glad to see Guardic Gaiden (Guardian Legend) as it's one of my favorites. The artwork on the Japanese version is amazing. Once the holiday running is over I hope to pop these in and give them a whirl.

The Street Fighter keychain is cool. When you push the button it lights up and says Hodoken! I have seen a few other people post about the Mario ornaments before, but hadn't seen any myself. Glad to see these in the box! The Rockman strap figure is a neat import. I've never seen these before. Why can't we get cool stuff like this over here?

I don't know how my Secret Santas do it.  My wishlist and letter are always a scattershot, slapdash collection of items.  This is by design, as I want my Secret Santa not to feel constrained by specific demands.  We're all collectors here, so my hope is that my Secret Santas will be able to pull some forgotten duplicate item off the shelf and send it along.  It's what I try to do, after all. 

Somehow, out of the mess of suggestions, my Secret Santas always pick out the items I most anticipate and deliver more than I dared expect.  For that, I thank them.

Im pretty sure my secret santa arrived when I was out on the road cause among the 19 boxes i got ( some i forgot I ordered) there was a box of atari 8 bit cart items. Very cool to see games I didnt already have and Im very glad to add them to the family.  The fact I need to order more Atari 8 bit cart cases is always a welcoming feeling. Thank you to whom ever my secret santa was these items have already found a nice home with my other carts. :)

I love seeing these SS posts!   Even though I've laid out the last two years, I always follow the posts and love to see collectors helping out other collectors - it's just awesome!    I've refrained from participation because finding items here in the wild has almost become impossible and I would hate to disappoint a fellow RFGer with a sub-standard box.    Maybe next year I'll jump back in.    Good job, and for those of us who are living vicariously through you guys - KEEP THOSE PICS COMING!

Maybe I'll send you some of the parts to the Gorf cabinet while I'm at it, once you get a chance to test. We have a parts place for arcade machines near the office, which even has OEM parts for cabs going back to the dedicated Atari cabs.

I had already received my Secret Santa package for this year when another package mysteriously showed up at my door.  I recognized the return address as it belongs to one of my long time RFG buddies, and my original Secret Santa match Techie 413.

I was really quite blown away when I opened the package to find so many awesome things that no one knows that I want like PC and hockey games.  He also included some miniature shrines to The Great One.

Techie really is a class act.  Thank you very much to my original Secret Santa.

How heavy is that Gyromite cart Russ?

Look at the pins. If those tines are thick and off-centrred and the cart is a 5 screw, there could be a converter in there.

The official / part 2 of my Secret gift arrived today!

Ray managed to find a canadian variant of Ultimate Mortal Kombat for DS. One dual lingo manual instead of one english manual and one french manual. (The 2 manual  one is still on my hitlist ;) )

Part one was a copy of Battlefront.

Cool. Glad it arrived. The English/French one was the one I was going to pick up, but the seller just took off and didn't leave a time for when he'd be back. So, I said screw it, found a nice complete one that was a variant of that one, and sent it on.
