Title: Discounted xbox carrying case...Toys R Us
Post by: phoenix1967 on April 27, 2005, 03:36:55 PM
I was looking for a carrying case for Xbox, and came across this deal.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000BX8HI/qid=1114644325/br=1-1/ref=br_lf_t_rz_1//103-0635894-3751001?v=glance&n=13636141&s=toys&m=A3UN6WX5RRO2AG

After seeing the ad, I went to the local Toys R Us and found the case at its retail price ($59.99), took it to the service desk (per the game department salesperson's instruction when asked about the discounted online price) and asked for the online price. After verifying that the link was accurate and confirming with the store manager, they gave it to me for the $29.99 price with all accessories. At the very least, it saved me the shipping cost, and if I want to offset the cost of the case even further, I can sell/trade-in the controller elsewhere.

It's very sturdy, and has its own combination lock. So, even if you don't have an xbox, but want something more durable for carrying something like a laptop computer or other game system and accessories, this may be an option for you.

If I ever get the lcd screen that fits onto the PS2, GC and Box, this is definatley something that I would pick up.  Very cool!

I haven't opened up the controller yet. It's made by a company called Intec, though. Have you heard of them?

It seems slightly larger than the contoller S size. I'm going to see if I can trade it in somewhere since I just got my 4th controller S at a Best Buy sale a few weeks ago.

I've got 2 Intec Xbox controllers. They were part of a Halo 2 pre-sell promotion at Best Buy. They work okay but the vibration function doesn't work properly with some games. it rumbles non stop. pretty annoying.

I used the carrying case on Friday to take it to a friend's house for a multiplayer xbox session. It was very user friendly as far as how the compartments are organized, and it has a velcro band that secures over the top to keep the xbox in place. I recommend it to anyone that travels with their system.

The intec controller is only getting $3 trade in at EB, though. I'll have to shop around to see if it will get more elsewhere.

I'm going to check to see if Blockbuster or GameSpot will give me a better deal on the intec controller. If not, then you've got a deal! I'll let you know.

Gamespot is offering $6 for the Intec controller. I still have to talk to Blockbuster, though.

hopefully these stores that your checking for a price are close to you or your losing any extra money you would be making because of the cost of gas and car maintenance

if your driving there...the average car, with gas, brakes, tires, car cost, maintenace etc. costs $0.50 per mile to operate.  So, if that GS is 10 miles away, you just spent $5.00 driving there

Actually, it's in the mall that I go to for lunch. No extra mileage for me.

I was able to trade in the controller at GameCrazy and used the value ($7) to offset the cost of a used copy of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The game ended up costing me only $6.00 plus tax.
