Title: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Crabmaster2000 on December 07, 2014, 04:00:51 PM If any of you guys comes across a Marth locally and is willing to pick it up and ship to me (Canada), I'd be more than happy to cover all those costs and pay an extra finders fee in either cash or games. Let me know your price!!
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: tactical_nuke on December 07, 2014, 06:51:01 PM I'll definitely keep an eye out.
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Crabmaster2000 on December 07, 2014, 07:07:23 PM I'll definitely keep an eye out. Thanks! I really appreciate that! Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Zagnorch on December 08, 2014, 12:45:33 AM Been hitting the major retailers quite frequently, so I'll be on the lookout.
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Izret101 on December 08, 2014, 04:18:36 PM Is this the only rare Amiibo at this time?
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on December 08, 2014, 04:19:52 PM Marth, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer are the rare three. Marth is just harder to find since he's more in-demand than Mii-style characters.
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: bickman2k on December 08, 2014, 04:27:09 PM I'll keep an eye out, but I'm certainly happy that we got all 12 when they first came out.
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: tactical_nuke on December 08, 2014, 04:44:01 PM My cousin has been around everywhere looking for them. No luck. We might hit Kmarts in a last ditch effort.
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on December 08, 2014, 04:52:52 PM ...Marth went from $28 before the weekend to over $60 BIN on eBay:

Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: SirPsycho on December 08, 2014, 05:17:55 PM My cousin has been around everywhere looking for them. No luck. We might hit Kmarts in a last ditch effort. Kmart is sad now. I remember seeing awesome games there in the 90s and early 2000s. They had an entire aisle of big box PC games around the time Diablo 1 and 2 were new! Its where I vividly remember seeing and longing for a fresh copy of the Arc the Lad Collection. Its where my parents bought my copy of Yoshi's Island when I was a kid and I was so giddy and happy! That was a birthday where they just took me out and let me get whatever game I wanted. Now its used for price matching and stock that slipped through the cracks and sold out at other stores. My Kmart is apparently one of the best performing stores in the company left, and its still sad to walk into it now. Anyway, on topic now. Nintendo may issue a second printing of more in demand Amiibos, so it might not be the best idea to drop a lot of extra cash on something that might be restocked just before the holidays. Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: slackur on December 08, 2014, 05:26:05 PM Naturally, Marth is one I was planning on picking up as a gift for a friend's Christmas present. I began looking literally the day Amiibos were released, including the store I work at, to no avail. :(
Ah well. If I can nab one in time, excellent, but it looks like it's time to search for another stocking stuffer. As a footnote, guess I'll reserve Bowser. Not that he'll likely become rare given he's a mainstay, but I suppose it's better not to take a chance now. Kmart either shut down around me, or consolidated down and don't even have a game department anymore. Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Izret101 on December 08, 2014, 06:12:57 PM Marth, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer are the rare three. Marth is just harder to find since he's more in-demand than Mii-style characters. I had seen those 2 bundled with Marth on eBay but it didn't seem to increase the ending prices enough for me to think they were rare too. At least i know now :) Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on December 08, 2014, 06:24:24 PM Yeah, they're the same rarity - just not the same demand.
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Crabmaster2000 on December 09, 2014, 11:45:06 AM Thanks for all the eyes on the lookout for me guys!!
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: shaggy on December 17, 2014, 09:57:23 PM I keep looking but no luck. :(
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Boshamp on December 18, 2014, 12:55:32 AM I have been to literally every Best Buy, Target, Wal-mart, Gamestop, local retailer, and Toys R Us looking for the rare three...nothing at all. I even checked all the online stores and the only store I found that had marth was a Gamestop in Boston and a Best Buy in Los Angeles. I really hope they do a second release. I don't understand the logic behind a limited release if the rumors of a discontinuation are true. The demand is there, Nintendo would be stupid to let the people selling online have all the profits to themselves. Nintendo could even do a limited release at twice the normal price and I would still drop the cash. I will not pay the $60-75 they are currently going for though. I even saw all three bundled go for $250 yesterday...

Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: tactical_nuke on December 19, 2014, 02:12:35 PM I can't even begin to explain the Amiibo hunting experiences my cousin and I have been through. Just a tip though, forget preordering future Amiibos online. Just forget it. Every store's site is bad and places like Toy's R Us have been cancelling all Amiibo preorders even though they've been up for a while. If you're going to preorder do it in store. We asked at Best Buy about Luigi, they said they had 7 in stock but they can't put them out yet. Good luck.
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on December 19, 2014, 02:22:20 PM Worth noting, but if you can pre-order at GameStop locations, they tend to order enough for pre-orders. Local GameStop didn't get Little Mac because no one pre-ordered and the manager forgot to pre-order one for himself.
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Crabmaster2000 on December 19, 2014, 08:17:25 PM I just don't like pre-ordering things in general especially online. I'll keep hunting around here
Title: Re: WTB Marth Amiibo Post by: Boshamp on December 20, 2014, 12:51:02 AM I also hate pre-ordering. But it doesn't seem to make a difference. Like noted above, pre-orders are being cancelled since the supply isn't there, and I even saw two grown men yelling and arguing with a wal-mart associate when the young man had to tell them that their pre-orders from the site-to-store ordering will not be fulfilled.

From the Nintendo Direct this morning, Bill Trinen mentioned that there would be some figures that would be re-stocked later this year.
