Title: Zero/Fatal frame/Project zero
Post by: naisu_boato on August 07, 2014, 05:38:52 PM
Mind you it is a niche series and i think not for everybody, but anyone excited for the release of the 5th proper installment in the game franchise? i have my japanese copy pre-ordered and have the other originals in japanese too. My only gripe is having to get a japanese Wii U to play it. Haha maybe i am one of the few people actually excited about this game...maybe i am wrong?

I'd love to play it, I've only played the US copy of the first one and it was a pretty good time. Probably wouldn't though if it meant a bunch of importing.

If it released in the US, sure. FF scared the crap out of me.

Being a huge survival horror fan, I am ashamed to admit that I have never played any of the Fatal Frame games.  I've wanted to for a very long time, but I just never seem to get around to it.  I actually own 1 and 3 on PS2, and have an imported copy of the remade Project Zero 2 for the Wii.

It's become an annual tradition of mine for the past several years to play nothing but horror-related games during the months of September and October (because one month just isn't enough for me ;) ).  Just my weird way of celebrating Halloween I guess.  But this year I will make it a point to finally play at least one of the Fatal Frame games.

Getting back on topic, I would love for Fatal Frame 5 to be released in the US, but I don't see it happening since 4 was never released in the west.  I wouldn't mind importing the games so much if the Wii & Wii U weren't region locked.  I also don't speak Japanese, so that's another barrier assuming that there are no English language options/subtitles.

I absolutely love survival horror games. I have played all three U.S. versions of the game and bought Spirit Camera. Unless it was released in the U.S. I can not see myself getting it.  I am sad.

i imported 4, but man it wasn't cheap...and now i think with 5 coming out the prices on 4, went up a little bit. it is sad the region locking ruined 4 for so many, i soft modded my wii for that reason alone. i'd love to be able to see more people play 4, it was a very very pretty game, and deserved more attention. i just imported a japanese wii u, since with fatal frame 5 coming out i had enough games to justify that hefty expense. as for subtitles, that would be really nice to see subtitles and language options, have yet to see anyone but fans do it.

haha imported a japanese wii u, but it was so expensive. there prolly should be a us release though...i think. the fact they are making a movie in japan (out soon), a movie in the us (no date), and nintendo is dying to sell any wii u consoles they can should be enough motivation for a us release...i hope.

Project Zero 2 on the Wii was incredible, it's in my top 5 Wii games of all time even. Loved it so much I got a Wii U especially for the next Project Zero game, even before it was announced. I simply knew they had to turn the Wii U gamepad into the Camera Obscura!
