Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on July 15, 2014, 08:23:57 PM There's an abundance of Wii Muramasa's on eBay. Finding one locally will be a different matter though.

Any excuse to build up my Vita library :) Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on July 19, 2014, 08:59:02 AM Awesome! I think you'll love this game's Japanese mythology and themes.
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on August 01, 2014, 07:06:56 AM I posted the first checkpoint! Commence hacking and slashing!
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: ericeskapade on August 03, 2014, 01:27:14 AM Sunday morning, let's start :) ...mhm, the first choice to do is some kind of difficult-level (I am so eager to play now, i won't read the manual first). Maybe we should have give a suggestion, becauseI am not sure if it's changeable later on. I'll start with "Muso" for safety...
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: ericeskapade on August 03, 2014, 01:51:37 AM ok, you can change the difficulty any time in pause-menu when playing the game. the first difficulty-grade is very, very easy,- really just for exploring the game.
the artworks/backgrounds on the screen is really looking amazing- i think anyone with a little weakness for art and melancholic sceneries will like them. and now in act.2 the music is really great!!! Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on August 05, 2014, 07:27:17 AM I think the artwork and set design in this game are absolutely beautiful! Everything looks so vivid and colourful. Sometimes while I play this game I think, "wow this would look great on my wall."
So, we've heard from eric regarding his initial impression of the game. What does everyone else think? Are you enjoying the game so far? Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Raidou on August 06, 2014, 04:30:40 AM Finally got my copy in the mail today, and played through two acts (beat the 2nd boss).
The art style is gorgeous, and everything looks better on an LED screen. The combat system is fluid and frenetic. Enjoying a lot, although I do have two issues: it holds your hand a little too much (which does break immersion at times), and the X button is over-mapped. EDIT: I also would have really liked a bestiary section. Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on August 07, 2014, 07:14:38 AM Looks like no one caught me slipping with the next checkpoint. Anyway, check the first post for the update.

Anyway, check the first post for the update. Eh, August 1st was last Friday, so technically, it hasn't been a week yet. ;) Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Raidou on August 09, 2014, 12:37:26 AM Just noticed something interesting in Act 5-
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Disposed Hero on August 12, 2014, 12:12:09 PM I'm currently on Act 4 and enjoying the game quite a bit so far. The combat is fast and fluid, and although it can feel kinda 'button mashy' at times, it's still a lot of fun. The story is pretty interesting, and of course the artwork is beautiful. The music is pretty nice too.
I'm anxious to get started on the other character's storyline to see if the gameplay is any different between the two characters. I imagine they feel mostly the same, but maybe there are some subtle differences. Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on August 12, 2014, 01:44:11 PM From what I understand the second character fleshes out the intertwining story. So two sides of the same coin. Gameplay is more or less the same though.
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Raidou on August 16, 2014, 08:28:33 PM Beaten the game with both characters.
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: ericeskapade on August 18, 2014, 07:13:09 AM wow, this was fast :leo:
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on August 18, 2014, 07:43:35 AM That's great Raidou! I'm enjoying this game so far and keeping thinking that this game was made especially for you. ;)
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: ericeskapade on August 19, 2014, 01:25:36 AM Fleach, I guess the week 3 goal is to complete chapter 1-4 of Kisuke?
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on August 19, 2014, 06:41:00 AM Yes, that's right.
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on August 19, 2014, 10:24:24 PM How is everyone doing with the game?
Personally, I'm enjoying it but I'm not totally hooked to see it through to the very end. It's fun but fairly repetitive, and I've only been playing in 20 to 40 minute chunks. Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Disposed Hero on August 20, 2014, 01:58:15 PM I think I'm almost finished with Momohime's story. Like you, I'm enjoying it but the repetitiveness requires that I only play for about a half hour at a time.
I'll probably take a break from the game after finishing Momohime's story, so I likely won't finish Kisuke's story anytime soon. Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Fleach on August 20, 2014, 02:38:43 PM Yep, same here. Completing Momohime's story will give me enough to leave me satisfied even though I'd have only beaten "half" of the game.

i caught both of them in some serious sword-forging action ;) i also take a break after everyy act that i played through. finished every act with the girl, and i am looking forward to the boy-story. yes, it can be repetitive, but i enjoy every new area, with every new backround. i worked out how to use the "special moves" for chains and how to use the cooked-food, even if i think the pills work better. because you don't have to wait, to take another one of them (OVERDOSE anyone  ). the most exciting things are for sure the boss-fights---at least in 3 of them i was rescued, by the fact that a level-up gives you a full refill of the lifebar. i was pretty hyped by that when i played it. dont't know if odin's sphere (PS2), and dragons crown (360, PS3) are that good??? Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Raidou on August 23, 2014, 01:13:31 PM Just got the 'Hours Persons Doors' trophy
Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: ericeskapade on August 24, 2014, 08:11:02 AM reached checkpoint 3. i found some nice flow with the game, breezing through it and looking forward to the possibilities, when the swords of the boy and girl can be combined.
Raidou, i asume you play on Vita (because of the trophies)...is this linked to 999 somehow, in which way...story, developer??? Title: Re: August Modern Playthrough - Muramasa: The Demon Blade Post by: Raidou on August 25, 2014, 07:39:32 AM Same regional publisher (Aksys), so it is a deliberate nod. Other than that no connection.
