Title: Fokakis79s Room of Doom Post by: Fokakis79 on July 02, 2014, 05:06:59 PM Hey all, haven't posted in awhile on finds and probably won't for a little while. Me and my wife just moved into a new place, and it is a huge place with lots of space. It comes complete with a room in the basement that was used as rec room. I have claimed this place as my place for keeping my growing collection of games, comics, laserdiscs, and board games.
I am looking for feedback, advice, or tips for creating a "Room of Doom" Here are some pics of what I am working with Title: Re: Fokakis79s Room of Doom Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on July 02, 2014, 05:52:16 PM #1: Better support for those shelves. Poor things are bowing like crazy.
#2: Seems like you're aware, but everything off the floor at least an inch or two. You could probably get away with screwing a 2X2 into the existing supports and shelving and that would take care of the bowing issue. The only other thing is the room looks like it's a bit small, so make sure you take full advantage of your vertical space. The shelves you have there now look like they are pretty tall, so as long as your next set are about the same height you should be okay. Y'know its hard to tell from the pics but its actually pretty long room. its about 40 feet long of a room. and 10 feet wide. I think that is enough space for me at least for now ;)
but I do like the idea of paying attention to vertical space. |
