Title: I am off to Luton on a hutning trip.
Post by: thx1138 on April 11, 2005, 01:54:31 PM
Mrs.THX and I are catching a train to Luton tommorrow, going hunting. It's been a piss-poor year for retro finds so far. So, we are taking the hunt to another town.

I shall take the digital camera too.

well, I call it polLuton

Upload pics later. Not a great trip, but got a few games.

PS1 - Equestriad 2001 (prolly sell this one)
PS1 - Galerians
PS1 - bust a move 4

SMS - Spell Caster (replaces my tatty one without a manual)
SMS - Assualt City
SMS - Battle Outrun
SMS - empty box only "R-Type"

Megadrive - Dragon's Revenge
                     Crash Dummies
                     Empire of Steel

32X - Virtua Racing Deluxe, no box or manual.

We went to the Namco Station, amusement arcade, and Mrs.THX had a go on a Japanese coin-op, all the text was in Japanese, and we were not too sure what to do, you had to hit drums with a stick. And we had a chinese style, all you can eat buffet. I ha stir fried squid and steamed egg rice.

Bust a move 4 and virtua racing deluxe are awesome games. These make any trip worthwhile.

Yeah, not to bad of a haul.  Any time you can go on a trip and get 10 games is pretty cool.

this one, is an example of some of the worst charity shop prices I saw;

£2.50 for an old magazine freebie disc.

That's still not as bad as the many times I have seen AOL Free Trial discs priced at $2 a piece.

that happens here too. My theory is that chairty shops are staffed by silver haired techno phobes, who still think that VHS videos are new fangled and expensive.

What is that Pac Man ball machine?

I like the beer in the pic of the games.

The Pac-Man thing is a gambling machine. It's small stakes, so kids can play too.

But one can seldom win on those machines, it's a variation of the "penny falls" or "coin cascade" mechanical coin-op, that predates pinball.

If the Taiko Drum Master that came out here came with drums that big I'd buy it for sure.

games and Guinness - a winning combination!
