Title: Video Game Study / Absurdly Forgiving Teacher
Post by: CtelinAjira on May 11, 2014, 10:25:51 AM
I have no idea why my statistics professor is giving me two weeks extra time on my final project. Nevertheless, I thank him for it, and need to pounce on this opportunity while it lasts.

I would appreciate it very much if you would answer all three questions below.

How many hours a day do you spend playing video games?
• 0-4 hours
• 4-8 hours
• 8-12 hours
• 12+ hours

How many hours do you spend around friends?
• 0-4 hours
• 4-8 hours
• 8-12 hours
• 12+ hours

Which genre of video game do you play the most?
• Role-Playing Games
• First-Person Shooters
• Fighting Games

Yeah...this is automatically flawed. There are no definitions for what "friends" are considered, and genre is something with not enough valid options to consider. FPS is also considered a subgenre, not a genre.

maybe his study should be on the intricacies of genre/subgenre relations?

That's not a genre! You should just pick Action, since those tend to be the easiest. But, you know, a genre that spans over 30% of releases isn't represented.  ::)
Not that this chart isn't flawed, considering that Puzzle is wrapped into Casual.
