Title: Shopgoodwill lands me a holy grail
Post by: sektor75 on January 09, 2014, 06:06:10 PM
I know shopgoodwill.com has a less than stellar rep around here (not always unwarranted), but I managed to snag a TurboExpress with a copy of Super Star Soldier all for $112.

I was completely expecting to have it arrive with no sound of a bad screen, but other than some gunk in the speaker vents, it was in immaculate shape.   :o

It's not quite a found-at-a-yard-sale-for-a-buck kind of score, but considering I never thought I'd find one (let alone one that works) I'm pretty stoked.

Not bad for a Shopgoodwill pickup. I picked up my original Miracle Piano NES CIB from Shopgoodwill.com for $30 (+ a ridiculous $35 shipping cost that I later found). I just hate Shopgoodwill because they've essentially made it impossible to pick up any non-Target video games at a Goodwill within a 100-mile radius of where I live.

Nice pickup! I still need both of those for my Turbo Collection.

Congrats, that is a really great snag for that price!

I also just scored a Colecovision system (one of the few I didn't have already) and 5 games for about $12 plus shipping.

What is starting to annoy me on there however is how you see items were added to the 2600/5200/7800 categories only to find out half the items are Flashback units.

It's a small price to pay for the gems you can find if you dig deep enough.

Shipping always seem to be horrendous.  I browse it every once in awhile but I get disappointed every time.

Awesome. I am picking up a turbo express next week, but the caps are bad.

Seems to be almost an inevitability any more with these.

Totally agree.  Shipping is usually horrendous.  I don't even look at the site any more.

And the added crap handling fee...
