Title: Variant submitted: Zombies Ate My Neighbors (Box art variant)
Post by: BadEnoughDude on November 30, 2013, 04:32:47 PM
Hi guys. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

I (finally) submitted a variant for the alternate box art copy of Zombies Ate My Neighbors that I have. I didn't see where I could include photos with the submission, so here they are. If any more information is needed let me know.

you have to wait until the variant is accepted before you can submit images. once it's up you go to the game page for it and there's a submit images button, just make sure they're no more than 550 pixels on the short side.

there's a feedback/suggestions section of the forums where this sort of post would normally go...i think you've been inactive maybe, but i still have to wonder how you didn't know that or the submission process after 3400+ forums posts :|

I've never made a submission before. Sorry. Feel free to move it to the correct spot.

Submission has been approved. Generally, "Made in Mexico" would indicate that its a Majesco re-release, but I don't see the Majesco name anywhere on the box, so I left your submitted variant title as it was. If anyone knows if this was a Majesco release, feel free to change it.
You can go ahead and submit your images to the entry.

BTW, I can't believe you've never submitted anything before, you've been here since the beginning.

It was not a Majesco release, as far as I know.

I submitted images after I saw it was approved.

I know, I know. I'm a poor community member when it comes to that. Now that I'm getting things reorganized here, I'll make a concerted effort to help out more with the database.

Clarification:
"Made in Mexico" was still Nintendo production, just moved to Mexico in 1996. For "Made in Mexico" versions, the cartridge will start with M/ and the Manuals will typically start with U/. Majesco purchased distribution rights in, I think, late 1997 and the wording "Assembled in Mexico" appeared to indicate that they didn't produce anything - just slapped some shells together with premade PCBs, some scanned label artwork/manuals, added in their logo and the "Assembled in Mexico" legal text, and sent them out.

Before the site went down, I know we had a discussion as to the origins of the box. I don't remember what it was off the top of my head now, unfortunately, or I'd add it to the entry. :'(

EDIT: Right... They had to redesign the box art to conform with ESRB ratings.
