Title: Submission Rejected: Super Breakout Adding [Text Label]
Post by: RetroExplorer on September 26, 2013, 10:27:47 PM
My submission to add [Text Label] was rejected on the Sears Tele Games version of Super Breakout.

The comment attached to the rejection message was "Are you sure you're not confusing this with Breakout? Super Breakout was released in 1982 when Atari stopped doing text-only labels"

Here is a similar example of a Sears Tele Games version with a [Text Label] tag attached

That looks like a Shadow rejection.

If you look at the scan provided that entry is for the text label.
The picture label was not made by sears and so no variation title was listed.

Chances are your DJ Hero bundle is going to also get rejected also.
The one in the DB is already a bundle. The game never retailed as a "Stand-alone" and a Bundle so it was not given a variation title when added.

DJ Hero 2 however had a standalone, Turntable bundle and Party Bundle (i call it the Beck Bundle. It has two turn tables and a microphone)

I think I get what you're saying. Since it is a different publisher, it isn't considered a variant?

The one currently listed in the DB for DJ hero 1 with a turn table is the renegade version with the fancy turn table. I have a game and turn table bundle of DJ hero 1 but the scan in the DB shows a stand alone game no picture of a bundle.

Here is a link to places that are selling a brand new stand alone version:

That is the DJ Hero with the turntable.

Use the link Tynstar provided.  The scans in the link he listed should have the turntable box as the Front image, which is where you may be getting confused.

The stand-alone copies listed on Amazon are likely copies that were harvested for their turntables.  I would be willing to bet those stand alone copies have no UPC because they were included in the turntable bundle.

Like Izret said, DJ Hero 2 was available as a standalone disc, but not DJ Hero 1.

If you guys say so. Some one should really get an image of the box if thats the case.

Heres the UPC for the game inside the bundle: 047875961944

They all have a sticker over the case UPC which is likely because it is an orphaned bundeled unit like you say.

Anyways, sounds like a losing battle here.

^Pretty sure that is a unique UPC code.^

Maybe the game did get a stand alone rerelease after DJ hero 2 came out. That way people new to the series could get the original DJ Hero without having to buy a bundle.
Obviously more research will be needed first though.

You might actually be onto something.
Giving more details and information is always helpful. Keep digging. :D

Apollo rejection, not Shadow rejection. Thanks though!

It will be hard to tell for sure, most stores have it out of their system or have put it in the discount bin a long time ago. Mine is still sealed and wasn't planning on opening it till I was ready to play it. I think it would be worth asking anyone who has it if their version has a UPC on it or not. If it does then the versions sold online as new are from the bundle. If not then it was a late in life re-release minus the turn table.

This might be the longest discussion about the game since it came out.

If I'm not mistaken, you had the publisher listed as "Atari", hence why I sent that message. Sears continued with text labels until 1982, and as Izret pointed out, the Sears version never had a picture label variant.
