Haven't played through that one in a long time and it'll take like half an hour anyway!
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Silent Scythe on August 29, 2013, 11:13:41 AM I'll be in, for real this time!
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: singlebanana on August 29, 2013, 01:03:06 PM Excellent, I'll do DuckTales NES and Castle of Illusion. There are a few possible achievements on the NES version of DT that I could suggest if you're interested, since I have played it a lot. Also, if anyone has a copy of DuckTales 2, I'd be down for running through that with them too.
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: GrayGhost81 on August 29, 2013, 02:24:24 PM I can do Duck Tales 2 through emulation if other people do it.
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Addicted on September 04, 2013, 06:14:06 AM Started playing through the remake of Castle of Illusion. Made it to the library and stopped.
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Fleach on September 04, 2013, 08:27:36 PM I hope everyone noticed that the original versions of these games are acceptable for the playthrough as well.
This weekend I'm going to give DuckTales a try. I'm excited to play my first HD remake game. Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: russlyman on September 04, 2013, 10:34:15 PM I can def do the original ducktales play through. This weekend I'm going to give DuckTales a try. I'm excited to play my first HD remake game. I'd love to play that remake and I really hope that it becomes available for download on the Wii at some point.....not banking on it. I'm going to try and run through DuckTales (NES) this weekend and hopefully get a start on Castle of Illusion soon. Any achievements set for the latter? I'd come up with some, but I've never played it. Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: russlyman on September 05, 2013, 09:53:25 AM Does anyone else sing a Long when they get to the moon stage to Brental Floss. "Duckssss,Ducks in Outer Space.... " ha

I'd come up with some, but I've never played it. I have Castle of Illusion for my SMS/Genesis/GameGear, but I've never played it. Do the Remake achievements not mix with the SMS/Genesis/GameGear versions? ;D Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Addicted on September 05, 2013, 11:13:31 AM @Shadow & singlebanana: I know most of them don't mix, but I haven't finished the game yet. For example the achievement C12: Tick Tock refers to beating the time trial on a level. That feature isn't available on the original versions.
Below is a breakdown of the achievements for the remake. I have marked the ones that should apply to the Original Versions: World of Illusion 40 Collected all the Magic Playing Cards. Quackshot 40 Collected all of Donald's Chili Peppers. * Masters of Illusions 80 Defeated Mizrabel and rescued Minnie. Castle Decor 20 Completed a Castle Statue. Masters of Illusion 40 Completed all Castle Statues. Pretty Picture 20 Unlocked a Castle Painting. Fortune Hunter 20 Found 50% of all Magic Diamonds. (There are 800 Magic Diamonds in the remake. No counter in the old versions) Money Bags 40 Found all the Magic Diamonds. * Disillusioned 20 Broke the illusion of 75 enemies. (AKA Defeat 75 enemies) * Superbounce 40 Bounced on 7 enemies in a row without touching the ground * Illusion Breaker 20 Broke the illusion of 25 enemies with projectiles. (AKA Defeat 25 enemies with projectiles( Tick Tock 20 Completed a stage in Time Attack mode. Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: singlebanana on September 05, 2013, 11:27:56 AM Wow, that's a great help for those of us who are playing the Genesis version. Thank you.
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Fleach on September 05, 2013, 04:01:34 PM @Addicted Thanks for those! I'll add them to the main post.
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Addicted on September 06, 2013, 08:05:12 AM @Fleach & singlebanana: You're welcome. I would also suggest adding in achievements for each of the seven gems needed to reach the final boss.

Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: JerryGreenwood on September 06, 2013, 01:22:51 PM DuckTales on NES and Castle of Illusion on Genesis are 2 of my favorite games. They're on my wishlist. Looks like now is a perfect time to track them down on eBay.

It was fun, but frustrating at times. I guess since it's a short game the major to finish is for the sense of accomplishment and overcoming the difficulty.
Come to think of it, that was probably the driving force behind a lot of people who finish NES games ;) Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Izret101 on September 09, 2013, 11:13:59 PM When Ducktails hits XBLA i will grab both of them and join in the festivities.
Usually i would wait for a reduction but i might as well grab them while everyone else is playing them for a change... Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Addicted on September 10, 2013, 07:59:21 AM Finished the remake of Castle of Illusion. Starting DuckTales.
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: singlebanana on September 10, 2013, 08:25:23 AM I hope to get started soon. Life has been throwing me some curve balls lately.
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Addicted on September 10, 2013, 06:55:43 PM Here are the achievements I have completed for the Castle of Illusion Remake:

A
Funny how much I remember about that game. Finished it tonight and earned all of the achievements. :) Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Fleach on September 11, 2013, 08:31:06 AM Finished DuckTales Remastered. It was torture at times but it's done. I found it to be pretty tough at certain parts. I'll post a picture of the end screen tonight.

Anyway we can go ahead and start talking about some of these in the open, or do we want to wait for a certain cutoff date?
Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Addicted on September 11, 2013, 08:40:46 AM @Fleach:
Quote torture at times Cutscenes? Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Fleach on September 11, 2013, 07:24:17 PM Yeah the cutscenes were pretty dull and I got tired of them quickly. The torture actually came from the game being pretty challenging. Some boss fights were frustrating.
EDIT I'm willing to discuss DuckTales if anyone is interested. Of those who played the original (or many NES games) did you think the remastered maintained feel of an 8-bit classic? Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Fleach on September 18, 2013, 06:35:28 PM I hope this thread isn't dead.
Anyway, I thought I'd say the joyous news that DuckTales Remastered will receive a physical disc release in November. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/09/18/duck-tales-remastered-physical-version-hits-shelves-on-november-12.aspx Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on September 18, 2013, 06:38:45 PM Damn Straight it will. You know, only a few days after the PS4 is released.

I know the timing is crummy but at least anti digital-only people can play it soon. Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: Addicted on September 19, 2013, 07:48:00 AM I really need to get back to DuckTales but life has been throwing a lot at me.
I still have to finish Puppeteer, Payday 2, X-Com the Bureau, Rayman Legends, God of War 3, and GTA V. Glad to hear there is a physical release to DuckTales on the way. There's also the new game (on steam) Vulgarr the Viking. The modeled it after Genesis action games: I believe it's a flash drive in the shape of a Genesis cart. Website is here: http://www.volgarrtheviking.com/ Title: Re: September Community Playthrough - Disney Revisited Post by: russlyman on September 19, 2013, 09:01:22 AM I hope this thread isn't dead.
