Title: Marvel Comics Games
Post by: Missionfailed on August 08, 2013, 12:41:23 PM
After i scored that sealed lot of genesis games i got this crazy idea. Lately i just collect what i will play so i sold all the genesis games for there value in the open market plus traded Sealed Dune for Guardian Heroes for Saturn. Now i find myself missing two games from that haul, Spiderman maximum carnage and Wolverine....so this is my idea. Has anyone ever attempted to collect every consoled Marvel Comics game? I think it is something i would like to do. Always been a fan of Marvel comics growing up so why not? Anyways what do u guys think?

I think that would be a fun goal. I also think you'll be surprised just how many games are going to be on your list. I find the quality is pretty decent too for the most part. I've thought of maybe doing it too, but never put any serious attempt in at it. You could always break it down into smaller goals too by splitting up the heroes. Go for all Wolverine games first, then Hulk, then Spider Man, X-Men, Punisher, etc., etc..

Spider Man Web of Fire is gonna set you back a few bucks, but beyond that I can't think of any rare/valuable marvel games that are gonna give you much trouble. I'm sure someone else can chime in on that though.

Yea i was thinking of limiting it a bit. Like start from NES and go up. I have quite a few already and i know Punisher genesis and Spiderman web of fire will indeed be the holy grails. I like the idea of concentrating on one character at a  time.

You might have to go back further than NES. Didn't the 2600 have a Spider Man game?

Yes i am aware but more focusing on Nes and up due to the fact it would be hard to find boxed Atari and Coleco games

Just checked Ebay and Spider Man on the 2600 is only $10-$15 CIB. That's not to bad.

If you are going after Limited Editions the Maximum Carnage boxset (QVC version) will cost you a pretty penny:

Hope you're also not concerned about regional variants - Acclaim titles for JP Megadrive can be expensive.

There are times like this that make me wants to get Series and other tagging working for games in the database, so you could just pull up a list of Marvel games to know what you're looking for. ;)
