Title: Newly manufactured SEGA CD RAM cart and PBC Post by: Duke.Togo on July 27, 2013, 09:12:38 AM A friend pointed me to a couple of items from a seller on eBay that are pretty interesting. I love it when new products are created for classic consoles, so I thought I would pass them on for those interested:
SEGA CD/MEGA CD backup RAM cart: New design with removable battery, and it also includes a USB port for power so you won't lose saves when changing the battery: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-CD-Mega-CD-Backup-RAM-Cart-Memory-Card-128KB-2045-blocks-/111117793595?pt=US_Video_Game_Memory&hash=item19df22f93b Cart style Power Base Converter: Only works for carts, but would allow those without a model 1 to play Master System games: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Master-System-Game-Converter-for-Genesis-Mega-Drive-Power-Base-Converter-/111125373269?pt=US_Video_Game_Controllers&hash=item19df96a155 Title: Re: Newly manufactured SEGA CD RAM cart and PBC Post by: noiseredux on July 27, 2013, 09:18:47 AM that's sick.
Title: Re: Newly manufactured SEGA CD RAM cart and PBC Post by: Zagnorch on July 27, 2013, 11:27:13 AM Been checkin' out a couple things that are related to this, lately. I'd almost forgotten about the Sega CD backup cart, which is something I wouldn't mind having. The master base converter seems like a must-have as well, but I only have a Model 1 machine-- hey, wait a minute, the decription states that it will work on a Model 1 Genesis/MD too! What kinda shananigans are you tryin' to pull here, Duker?!
Title: Re: Newly manufactured SEGA CD RAM cart and PBC Post by: Duke.Togo on July 27, 2013, 12:08:20 PM It will work on Model 1, but I would guess that most Model 1 owners would just go with a real PBC since it looks better and can play cards/use 3D glasses. Plus an original PBC loose would be cheaper.
Thinking of picking up the RAM cart at some point, making a shell from a sports game, and making a repro RAM label to go on it. Oops, didn't take the 3D glasses into consideration. Thanks for the heads-up. Quote Plus an original PBC loose would be cheaper. Oh, okay then. Obviously I'm not actively hunting for one, or I'd know this fact already. It's one of those things where if I stumble across one, then cool. Quote Thinking of picking up the RAM cart at some point, making a shell from a sports game, and making a repro RAM label to go on it. If I get one, I'll probably just remove the label from the shell, and put some oddball doodles on the deal with a gold Sharpie. Then when I'm done I'll just stare at the finished artwork, and watch it come to life 'cuz I'll be high on the gold Sharpie fumes.
