Title: Prototype interest Post by: A8scooter on May 26, 2013, 07:34:15 PM If your interested in finding prototypes how do you go about locating and aquiring one. Im sure this is something on the mind of others BUT i have a hard time finding them for my area of collecting. Atari 2600 seems to be a bit more available, including even on EBAY. Has anyone here found any prototypes for any systems. Id be interested in hearing how you aquired them and such.
Title: Re: Prototype interest Post by: Duke.Togo on May 26, 2013, 07:53:19 PM I'd recommend going to forums that are specific for the system for the protos you want and posting a want to buy thread.
Title: Re: Prototype interest Post by: A8scooter on May 26, 2013, 08:04:20 PM i guess i should have refined it. Has anyone been able to find protos and what methods have you used to make it work. where were you able to find them and such. Tales from the trenches
Title: Re: Prototype interest Post by: nes_pimp on May 26, 2013, 08:04:44 PM Look it up on ebay. There is usually something for sale in the way of proto's. Try searching NFR and demo as well.

Tales from the trenches This entire thread would be better posted on Atari Age if you want any Atari protos specifically, and Nintendo Age if you want those. I don't think many on here have protos they didn't get at one of those forums. Title: Re: Prototype interest Post by: Crabmaster2000 on May 26, 2013, 08:24:00 PM Try your best to track down some of the people who were involved in creating the games you're interested in. Thats gonna be your best lead in uncovering new ones me thinks. Shouldnt be as hard as it was in the past with google/facebook/etc.

Title: Re: Prototype interest Post by: Addicted on May 30, 2013, 08:06:55 AM There are three places I would check for Prototypes:
1. Developers Themselves (Thanks Crabby) 2. Flea Markets/Conventions 3. Forums/Ebay (Assembler Games/Nintendo Age) The only prototype I have left is a Super High Impact PCB. I bought it off Ebay in 2001: (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/cisco678/media/shigh1_zps95f45d68.jpg.html) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/cisco678/media/shigh2_zpsded2cbc3.jpg.html) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/cisco678/media/shigh3_zpsc114ec45.jpg.html) |
