I thought it was interesting that you guys talked about holding a meet-up during TooManyGames. Earlier this month I was thinking it'd be great if RFGen had a little convention type thing where we can play some games, do a bit of swapping and selling, and just hang out. It'd probably be hard to coordinate since members come from all over North America (and the world). Food for thought, I guess.

there could be different ones in different regions, if someone could be found from each region to organize it

Just started listening to the show. Apparently i foreshadowed without knowing it.

Thought so. Sileighty was popularized a lot by Initial D. I've only seen a few true Sileighty cars here in the states, and most of them were when I traveled down to Palm Beach for the inaugural Formula D event. My wife still had her track number on her car at the time, and it was hilarious to see people stop to take pictures of her stock V6 mustang because it had a sticker and a bar in it.  :laugh:

about the thing with leaving friends/family hints on the games to get you for gifts, this friend had it easy (and it wasn't much of a surprise for me). i was debating getting it on ebay and tried contacting the seller about holding it until my paypal money was available, and was talking to my friend about it while i was looking. then she's just like "why don't i just buy it for you? i have a credit card and some spare cash, could pay for it now and have it shipped to you. i owe you a birthday gift still anyway." definitely an awesome friend.

I'm glad someone has clued in on that, finally. Always love the running commentary 'Norch, but I don't know if I can stick with "burn your bacon."

Oh, and how on earth do you have so much positive Karma? Must be on your best behavior... ;)

I think Crabby and Bil have been hiding, haven't heard enough from them lately.

For Bil, probably had a coronary after all the hot dogs he's been eating. Crabby took a little vacation, so who knows if he's even back home yet.

I bet Crabby goes somewhere warm and tropical on vacation, somewhere way south, like Victoria BC.

Call me unpatriotic, but I think the whole weights-and-measures deal is one instance where "American exceptionalism" isn't such a hot idea.

We've been told for decades that the USA would eventually adopt the metric system...yet here we are.

The reason the USA hasn't adopted the metric system is because we have crappy engineers that would rather design things on the nonsensical customary units, then the hardware companies that make parts to fit (while also making metric tools and parts).

Basically, what will need to be done is that every company and person will simultaneously need to adopt metric only instead of the hybrid crap that most of us are tired of dealing with. I can't tell how many times I've been trying to fix a problem with my metric tools when I needed my standard tools and vice versa, its more trouble than its worth but nobody has the balls to get the ball rolling on full change.

I'd be happy to. I'm sure Bil and I could sign when we go to Too Many Games, and then ship it off to Crabby. It will be difficult to bring myself to deface such an amazing collectable though.

Oh, and no more RetroRage, eh? Now Bil is going to have trouble telling you two apart.

Heading home from my tropical vacation today. We spent our southern trip in to warm embrace of Edmonton and Calgary. It only snowed twice while we were here so I've got a pretty killer tan from the Speedo I've been sporting :D

All those extra PM's I've been getting this week about Bil finally make sense.

And Duke I didn't mind my video tour getting mentioned. It was pretty awesome actually. I even called my roommate, who recorded the videos, into the room to hear you guys talk about it.

LOL, that spelling thing always gives me a good chuckle. I just like trying to read them out loud.

I love that you guys are able to chat and it doesn't sound forced or scripted. I'm definitely not advocating you guys go over the top with language but if something slips by I wouldn't worry about it too much.

The casual/fun atmosphere is what I love :D

It's not so much as I'm deeply worried about offending someone out there somewhere, but I want to be consistent and make it something I would be ok with my kids hearing without rushing to turn it off. There are a lot of shows that I like, but can't enjoy them around anyone else.

Great job as usual guys. Love listening to the podcast. Interesting that someone got some n-gage games. I havent heard anything about that system in a while.  Although aaccording to our database there 55 n-gage games not including NFR variants.  Who knew that many actually came out!

Some of those N-Gage games are actually very hard to come across too.
Since i like shitty systems with small libraries it was one of the systems i was thinking about trying to collect for several years ago if memory serves a fair number of the games go for a decent price.

It would not be as cheap or easy library to finish as you would think.

I haven't used the 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro (what a ridiculous name...) yet, but I bought it for Resident Evil: Revelations.  It was only $25 new on Amazon shipped, so it ended up being about the same cost as it would have been shipped from Nintendo.  Plus, I used Amazon credit on it.

really? why bother with infared when it's attached directly to the system? that seems stupid.

I'm assuming because it makes it easier to take it off/on.  You don't have to worry about connecting anything or anything breaking off.  Plus, Nintendo seems to love using infrared ports.

That's really interesting, thanks for sharing. IR is probably dead cheap to put int, so it makes for a simple and cost effective solution.

Haven't gotten a chance to hear the new episode yet...but, the mention of a TooManyGames meetup sounds fun! Who else is gonna be there. I'm in for sat/sun.
