Title: My Humble Collection.
Post by: engel762 on February 23, 2013, 11:06:18 PM
So I finally got a proper shelf for displaying some goodies, instead of storing them in totes and drawers.  It may not be as impressive as some, but it came out pretty good I think.  I haven't gotten around to alphabetizing yet, Just kind of tossed things on as I placed shelves...

Playstation and Playstation 2

and then the Tower o' Consoles.  NES, SNES, N64, Genesis/32X, Playstation, and PS2 are all hooked up and work with an AV Switch, the Saturn, Dreamcast, and 2600 are just on display.  I couldn't squeeze the monstrosity that is the Atari 5200 or the SMS on there...  there's also an Xbox hooked up, not in the picture, and the Gamecube is upstairs hooked up to my second PC monitor.

2 boxed 32X games, of course one of them is Doom.

It really is the Silent Service for Sega's best add on!

Humble?  I see a sweet Atari 2600 VCS box and some great NES boxes.  Be proud, not humble.  Everyone's preferred collection is going to be different.

Yes, I am envious of the boxed NES games. I only have 4 CIB ones. I wish I had the space to better organize my stuff...for now it'll look like this:

I like how neat your humble collection is.  Is there a game in your NES, perhaps?  Maybe a Zelda game?

Ha!  Actually, there isn't anything in there at the moment.  I always worry about the goofy ass connector in those, so I don't like to leave anything in there.  Keep the tension off the springy contacts... sounds good in my head at least.  Or I could be worrying about it for nothing.

Looks good, man!  It hurts me that they aren't alphabetized yet, but I know you will get to it ;)

You'll be happy to know that it's been alphabetized now :)  Except for those oddly shaped unlicensed carts (They weren't stacking well with others).  And rearranged slightly.

Nice!  How did you get the Boxed NES?  Did you buy them boxed off Ebay, keep them from childhood, whats the story?

I got the majority of those from GamerNick.

I know!  It irritates the living crap out of me that I end up having to put labels on cart ends, after I spend so much time taking stickers off them in the first place....

That is why i kinda stayed away from N64 games all together. I just get them to trade or resale.

I do the same thing with my N64 carts, most Famicom carts, 5200 carts, and a few Colecovision carts by developers who didn't put top labels on.

i used to use really small stickers with a number on them that matched the number in the excel file i list my games with offline. that way i could just look through my list and find what i want. it ended up being more effort than it was worth, and i couldn't stand having any extra stickers on the carts so i took them all off. i'm planning on replacing all loose copies with CIBs eventually anyway. it helps if they're alphabetical though, then you have a rough idea where to look and usually only have to pull out a few to find what you're looking for.
