Title: Games from my tattooist and other shop keepers. Post by: thx1138 on February 07, 2005, 07:22:52 AM Today, my tattoiist's wife, had a load of SNES games to sell. I offered to either pay £20 for the lot, or sell it fo a comission. I bought the lot, for £20.
Lawnmower Man Super Mario World Zelda Star Trek Simcity Buster Busts Loose Lemmings (super famicom) the guy in the junk shop, called me over, and asked me to sell a camera for him on eBay. I agreed, in excahnge for the calculators on sale. I live in an "ubran village". It's a kinda expensive part of town, a big town, yet in the square mile of the area Iive in, there are lots of local shops, not chain stores, a junk shop, two thrift stores. Both the thrift stores and the junk shop hold the retro for me, the tattoist passed my details on to all that have games to trade, and the cyber-cafe at the end of the road does the same. :) Title: Re: Games from my tattooist and other shop keepers Post by: den68 on February 07, 2005, 08:05:50 AM damn, must be nice to have first dibs like that. cool setup you got there.
Title: Re: Games from my tattooist and other shop keepers Post by: thx1138 on February 07, 2005, 08:11:08 AM it's cool, but kinda double edged sword.
To keep "first dibs", I often buy stuff I don't need or want, at a cheap price, and then sell it on or swap it. i.e Sonic 1 for 75pence. I prolly buy that 20 times a year. Stil worth it though. Title: Re: Games from my tattooist and other shop keepers Post by: den68 on February 07, 2005, 08:13:50 AM well you get to load up on trade bait then. finding room for 20 copies of Sonic must be fun.

It is more of a small trade off than a double edged swoprd if you ask me. Like Den said you have a very nice system set up. Besides you can always stick crappy games in as extras for other games you sell. Bump the starting price up a Euro to qet a 25 pence off your profit.
