Title: Change proposal for Super Metroid Review
Post by: sharp on February 06, 2013, 08:27:24 PM
As I think it's not a good idea to edit reviews without asking everybody. I would suggest that the part 3 megabyte will be changed in 24 mbit so we can delete the part below which is *Many people claim this game is on a 24 megabyte cart, but that's an exaggeration (I'm still not sure exactly how that number was extrapolated). Similar claims were made about Chrono Trigger, Rise of the Robots, and Samurai Showdown. Those claims were little more than sales fluff made up to impress people. Cartridges that size weren't feasible until N64. The mistake been made by many is that 8 bits make 1 byte, still I don't think it needs to be part of the review.

One thing I know is that it is allowed to post multiple reviews on a single game page. You can leave the original as is and then add "sharp's review" beneath that. That's the way it should be done. Otherwise...well, what's the point of reviewing a game if someone else could just come in and change the review to match their particular view. It could also make for an interesting back-and-forth between reviewers, misconceptions and all.

In this case as it seems to concern a factual mistake I do not know what would be best. Maybe Shadow or Izret knows?

Reviews can be modified, as long as they don't change the opinions of the author. Since this is a factual claim that's being made, feel free to change it sharp. ;D
