2012 is drawing to a close, and the new year is right around the corner. A lot of great games came out in the latter parts of this year, and many more good titles are set to release in 2013.

So, what games are you looking forward to playing this coming year?

Personally, I'm really excited about Ni No Kuni. I love RPGs and the works of Studi Ghibli, so that is a win-win for me. I'm also really looking forward to playing The Last of Us. I like what Naughty Dog has done in the past especially with the Uncharted series. Their games are heavily character-driven stories, and I'm curious to see how they tackled the grittier side of human nature in the post-apocalyptic world they created for this game.

I see your Ni No Kuni and Last of Us, and raise you Aliens: Colonial Marines, BioShock Infinite, the Tomb Raider reboot, and a new Etrian Odyssey.

I'll likely be working on a lot of old stuff before I take on anything new, myself.

Same here.  At last count my back log of "I want to play these games NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW" list is at around 30 games.  That's not even counting the games that I want to play when I get around to them.

At the moment I have to go with Bioshock Infinite, Dead Space 3, Bayonetta 2.

Nothing off the top of my head as far a new games. But I'm really looking forward to playing all the games I own that I don't own the systems for. Theirs probably around 25 games that I own that don't have a home. I want to simply play them. I'll make that my goal for now.

Whatever Total War comes out.

Rome II

There's a ton of oldies I want to tackle too. Those old games just have such a great fun factor to them. They will probably take priority on my "want to play" list.

I have several titles-- and a few accessories & peripherals-- for systems I don't yet own.

Particularly for the PS3 and 360. Nope, I still ain't got those yet, folks.

Ni No Kuni and Pikmin 3 are near the top of my list.

The next Final Fantasy (even though I've been disappointed  with  every one since 7. 7 and all the ones before it are great)

I'm looking forward to the new Luigi's Mansion. Otherwise I'm pretty good with the games I have right now.

Dragon's Crown and some new 3DS games.

Ni No Kuni, The Last of Us, and Battle Kid 2. I'm really looking forward to Battle Kid 2.

Is it personal this time?

I'm sure it's in development, and I don't know if it'll be coming out in 2013, but I wouldn't mind checking out Super Mario Galaxy 3-- or whatever they're gonna call it-- when it drops.

Bioshock Infinite for sure, and I'm cautiously optimistic about Grand Theft Auto V. I hope to get a Wii U sometime in the new year, so plenty of games for that as well.

Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, BioShock Infinite, The Last of Us, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Rayman Legends, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Grand Theft Auto V, just to name a few :P

I'm looking forward to quite a few games this coming year.  Luigi's Mansion, Dead Space 2, Pikmin 3, Ni No Kuni, new Tomb Raider, Hitman Trilogy, God of War: Ascension, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, and Rayman Legends.

I'll be picking up Fire Emblem on day 1, but I'm not sure about the others yet.

mostly i'm fine with what i have to play right now. the only thing i have planned to get for sure is Starcraft II Heart of the Swarm, otherwise my backlog of games is too long to really plan on getting into many new ones.

all kinds of stuff but i have to finish all the 100's of other games i've started but put aside to play other stuff

I forgot about The Last Guardian. Hopefully it won't be delayed anymore.

Ha! My backlog extends to the Super Nintendo era, so if I'm not playing something new, my backlog play is more like 'gaming mood potpourri.'

I think we are all in the same boat on backlog.  It's one of the reasons I'm more conservative with the current gen games I buy.  I have to ask myself "will I ever actually play this?" and "would I rather cross a game off my list?"

TLG is vaporeware at this point I'm afraid

I'd love to see The Last Guardian become a reality. It looks incredible.  Although, all the postponing is giving me more time to hunt down and play Shadow of the Colossus and Ico.

SOOO GOOD!  I mentioned it on a past show, but Ico can be played in just a few sittings and Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favorite games of all time.  The PS2 versions would be very cool to own, but the PS3 Collection is just as good.  Get it!
