Title: Howard Phillips Epic Sales
Post by: Crabmaster2000 on November 02, 2012, 10:03:36 PM
Howard is posting 3 different bundles so sell over the new couple days at nintendoage. His first one just went up and its what he is calling the "ultimate NWC package". Its pretty hard to disagree after seeing it. This is super cool and I can't wait to see what his other two bundles are going to be even though by the looks of the first one I won't be able to afford anything he has :P

I saw the protos on page 8.  Definitely cool that Howard has had these for 20 years.

Final package is up on page 11 now. Its sets of games that come with Sealed Copies along with their related prototypes and/or ROMs.  For example if you're a fan of Swamp Thing you could get 2 sealed NES copies, 2 Sealed GB copies, 4x GB Roms and a working NES prototype. There are several similar packages for a few different games too. Very awesome!!!

Original NOA employee, the guiding hand in selecting NES launch titles, Head of the Nintendo Fun Club, and the list goes on.

I thought you were a Sega guy ;)

This was my favorite Bernie Stolar move:

When PS2s first came out, they were in EXTREMELY short supply and Sony was only able to get a handful of systems every few weeks to major retailers and most stores got nothing.

Bernie Stolar (Then the head of Sega of America) sent out this postcard to press, analysts, and retailers.

Hi - apologies to those who found the NA slow reveal tedious - it was taking me a while to go through all the stuff in my archives and post it so I thought I'd have a little fun with it...

FYI - I've put The Ultimate Nintendo Power package up on eBay; http://www.ebay.com/itm/200870137632

I hope to post some more tidbits from my archives soon that I think RF members will find interesting - stay tuned!

thx - h

Hmmm, for some reason I had no idea that you went to work with Microsoft.  That NHL Hitz disc is beyind cool.  Makes me wish I had the scratch to throw a serious bid on it  :)
