Could have totally been 5+ hours! Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Duke.Togo on October 05, 2012, 08:28:06 AM Check out Retro Gaming Roundup if you want a 5+ hour podcast. It's looooong.

Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: wildbil52 on October 05, 2012, 03:11:15 PM I'm surprised we came in at the 3 hour mark after how long we spent on scores.

Yes I listened to them all and really enjoy them.
I'll catch ya all later when I get a day off from work, whenever that is. The near three hour cast at once is a bit for me in one sitting. Oh this is super late but I love having wildbil52 on your show. You all crack me up. Glad to see a trio of collectors, and goof-balls. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: RetroRage on October 05, 2012, 11:40:36 PM You guys barely mentioned 32x in this episode.
Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: inRainbows on October 05, 2012, 11:45:25 PM any idea what flea markets in KY you stopped at duke ?
Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: RetroRage on October 06, 2012, 12:02:28 AM Btw Bil that wrestling game was No Mercy. And WCW/nWo Revenge. And Wrestlemania 2000. And then later Def Jam Vendetta/Fight for NY. All great games. I don't know what the heck they were thinking when they canned that fighting system when they made Def Jam Icon, that was an awful game.

One was near Bowling Green, that was the good one. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: RetroRage on October 06, 2012, 05:24:53 PM This thingy....
Is a fancy binder. I use to keep track of my scores now. Before I had a lame plain white folder, so this is a pretty sweet upgrade. It's hard to tell in this picture, but for every game I buy I highlight, write down where/who I got it from, how much I paid for it, and when. I saw the same binder in worse condition at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo last week and the vendor selling it wanted $50 for the thing! When I first opened the binder I saw this paperwork....it was my friend's own personal tips guide that he made himself when he was a kid, about 20 pages worth. He cut out and glued labels, pictures, passwords, etc of his favorite games in a pretty organized fashion. At first I was gonna toss it, but then I thought no this is pretty cool. I guess for the same reason Bil wont erase the names on the back of some carts if it's obviously been written on by a kid. It's just a cool thing to see and made me smile when I was flipping through the pages. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Crabmaster2000 on October 06, 2012, 05:39:53 PM That is pretty wicked!

Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Razor Knuckles on October 07, 2012, 11:13:29 AM Great job you guys! Finally got to listening to it today.
Hey thanks for pointing the going price for Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure. Bought it for $2.99 and thought it was only worth that till I heard you guys mention it. But for the Knuckles Chaotix playing on my Model 2 Genesis I've completed the game without any freezing issues. Strange to hear thats a problem that I've yet to come across. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Duke.Togo on October 07, 2012, 12:46:43 PM Hey thanks for pointing the going price for Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: RetroRage on October 07, 2012, 12:56:05 PM When i was at the PRGE last week i saw a vendor selling World Series Baseball (cart only) for 32x for $25. Should i have jumped on that Bil?
Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: wildbil52 on October 07, 2012, 01:26:33 PM When i was at the PRGE last week i saw a vendor selling World Series Baseball (cart only) for 32x for $25. Should i have jumped on that Bil? That's a pretty good price for that cart. I've seen them go for 35-50 depending on condition. It will be VERY hard to find a box/manual for that game so if you ever wanted a complete one, you would probably have to buy a complete one and sell the cart. The price on WSB seems to be slowly increasing over the past year or so. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: cverz2 on October 07, 2012, 02:32:25 PM Great show guys. And thanks for the plug. Kinda cool listening to fellow collectors talking about your own finds. Keep up the good work.
P.S. It was 63 CIB NES games and I paid around 250-275 total. And I disappeared for a year or so b/c I was really busy with work, family, new house etc. Excited about getting back in the swing of things and have been bitten by the hunting bug again. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: RetroRage on October 07, 2012, 06:27:03 PM Can't wait to see what you can find out there!
Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Quackula on October 10, 2012, 09:00:00 AM I listen to podcasts at work and while walking home usually, so I only just now got around to listening to it. Another cool show. 3 hours of subject matter I'm sure anyone outside of the hobby would find incredibly dull, but anyone into it will find completely fascinating.
Was cool hearing about my Turbografx find! Ya know, about a week after getting it, I actually did end up getting Keith Courage sent to me for free from a Racketboy member. They kinda PMed me out of nowhere asking if I'd ever gotten a Turbografx... Didn't even have to pay shipping. Maybe your thing about it being impossible to have a Turbografx without Keith Courage might have some truth to it... it's kinda creepy actually. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: wildbil52 on October 10, 2012, 09:01:47 AM Maybe your thing about it being impossible to have a Turbografx without Keith Courage might have some truth to it... I think that if you sent your TurboGrafx in for repair, it came back with a copy of Keith Courage installed on the internal memory so it would boot up when the system powers on without a game inserted... I read this and immediately went over to my Turbo and turned it on just to see what would happen. It was just a white screen. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Zagnorch on October 10, 2012, 11:26:17 PM Hey now!
Sorry I’m late with my fave parts from the latest CollectorCast. But hey, better late than never, right? Anyhoo, this will be a rundown of my fave moments from the first half of the show. FAIR WARNING: this might be a bit too TL;DR for many of you, so you might want to skip to the next post if my rambling wall of utter nonsense starts to put you to sleep. That having been said, let’s hit it: 00:08:10- You’re freakin’-a right Tempest was a great game—hey wait, didn’t you mention that in the previous ‘cast? 00:11:04- Man, you guys are really bringing out my inner grammar Nazi with your attempts to properly pronounce X’Eye… 00:18:40- Yeah, the TG16 is a pretty big brick. Which is really sad when you compare it to the PC Engine, and you realize they didn’t have to make it quite that huge when they brought it Stateside. 00:40:32- “You complete me!” Bah hah hah hah! Best quote of the ‘cast! 00:41:10- I wonder if Ixy wouldn’t mind playing my GBA Bratz cart? 00:42:00- I don’t wanna sound like a queer or nothin’, but it’s kinda touching how some guys aren’t afraid to show their feminine sides from time to time. Even if it makes ‘em look like a buncha candy-ass sissy-marys. 00:43:35- I only wish it was complete, guys. Sadly, it’s missing the manual. 00:46:32- “I’ve only ever held one (Original DS) once.” I’m kinda in the same boat with you there—until about a year or so ago, I’d never even seen one “in person.” 00:47:30- Sorry to disappoint, but I’ve never posted a blog about my Nerf arsenal… yet. I have, however, considered doing a review blog of the N-Strike games for the Wii. 00:48:00- What’s that? No Turbo-Graf for you? Well, you know what Ace Ventura says about people like you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Kz7YUdy-Cg 00:52:44- OW! SON OF A— 00:57:41- “I have never seen an (Mega Man) X3 cartridge, myself.” Ya wanna check out mine? Here ya go: How d’ya like them apples, huh? Don’t feel too bad, though; it’s a former rental in off condition, with the bottom of the front label torn off: Hey, maybe it’s the copy that Crabby rented all the time way back when? 01:07:22 to 01:08:30- This story makes me glad “I traded down” for a type-1 Genesis (thanks, Raze)… 01:11:38- AHH, NOT AGAIN! 01:16:15- Taking inappropriate pics with the 3DS??? You really shouldn’t be giving people ideas, guys—especially people like me. “They’re comin’ right atcha,” indeed… And there you have it… for now. 'Late Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: RetroRage on October 11, 2012, 12:15:41 AM Nice wrap up Zagnorch.
I'm jealous of your X 3 cart. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Duke.Togo on October 11, 2012, 12:35:31 AM Zignatch, I seriously laugh every time I read your stuff. I can't wait for the second half!
Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: blcklblskt on October 11, 2012, 05:29:54 PM I started listening to the podcast. Really glad that I posted pictures of my TurboGrafx haul...
Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Addicted on October 18, 2012, 01:15:43 PM Just listening to the podcast now. The show has come a long way from the first episode. Keep up the good work!
The Mutant League game that never came out is Mutant League Basketball. I believe the ad for it was on the back of the Mutant League Hockey manual. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: Duke.Togo on October 18, 2012, 03:01:45 PM Just listening to the podcast now. The show has come a long way from the first episode. Title: Re: RF Generation Collectorcast Episode 7 Post by: SirPsycho on November 06, 2012, 09:35:44 PM All this talk about girly games... strange that my own upcoming episode 7 shares something in common with all those games.
